May-02-12  hms123: <MarkFinan> I agree with you about the posts on the Fisher page, but they are at least about Fisher. You might note that I don't post there, and don't find the <Fischer is the greatest> comments all that interesting.

I don't think that you and I disagree very much about what should be on it. I just wanted to give you a sense of why the admins might treat these things the way that they do.

<TheFocus> I agree as well, but wanted to be even-handed while posting on this particular page.

<Dom> J'ai bien bouffe'

<Not sure what that means but it always gets a laugh at the local French restaurant.> Do you think it has to do with nasty bits?

WannaBe: Trogoff, later in his life became a force in analyzing politics, policies of government, and its/ their economic policies.

Did Fischer became an influence in the music business/industry??

May-02-12  MarkFinan: <Wannabe> Did Fischer later in his life became an expert in American foreign policies?? No... But that gets discussed

But did he become an expert in the food Industry too? No... But that gets discussed too!!

You're back slapping hypocrites, and you know it...

Personally, i hope the admins delete mine and others 'Nasty' music talk, just so you can prove that you cause pointless arguments just for arguments sake, because you never post on that page anyway!

Get a life guy's :)

  kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com

Have you considered having games from the UK 4NCL League Division 1 ?!

http://www.4ncl.co.uk/resdiv1.htm

The reason I mention it is that I am playing in 4NCL this weekend for the first time, and wasn't sure I saw it featured here on the left of the front page.

It is very strong - a lot of GM's play in Division 1.

Cheers, K

Domdaniel: 4NCL = Four Nations Chess League = primary British & Irish team tournament.

I know some very good games are played in this competition, often at a high level. Not quite the Bundesliga, but worth a spot in the database. I agree with <kingscrusher> on this ... scoop up 4NCL games whenever you get the chance, CG.

Go scrush 'em, <Scrush>.

May-06-12  twinlark: <ceegee>

The powerful Nakhchivan Open just wound up in Azerbaijan. Here's a link to the live games page which also has PGN links in case you want any for the database: http://livegames.chess.az/live1/tfd....

The field included 17 GMs including the likes of Grachev, Iordachescu (who won), Sergei Zhigalko, Tiviakov and Safarli.

BTW, it appears the Chess Federation of Ecuador chucked a hissy fit and <after it finished> refused to endorse the 4th Ibero-American for rating purposes, setting off GM Alejandro Ramirez big time: http://blog.chess.com/LittlePeasant...

chessgames.com: <kingscrusher> We have a lot of the games of the 2011-2012 season here 4NCL (2012) but unfortunately I don't see your name in the roster. It could be that we are getting just the elite group. If you have games that you'd like to include please submit them at our PGN Upload Utility. Thanks!

May-08-12  Memethecat: Hi CG, in Opening Explorer, after a few book moves, you get the option to "search database for this position". Is it possible to do this in a general sense? i.e. load a FEN somewhere & get a list of games in that position, not necessarily tied to book moves.
May-08-12  Memethecat: Forget last, I've found it.
May-09-12  Blunderdome: The Sigeman & Co. Chess Tournament starts today, with Caruana, Leko, Giri, and others. Unfortunately at the moment the official site won't load, for me at least. You may want to look into it at some point.

I guess we'll have US Champs, Capablanca Memorial, Sigeman and the World Championship all at once.

chessgames.com: <load a FEN somewhere & get a list of games in that position, not necessarily tied to book moves.> Unfortunately it can only perform this trick if it is an opening position. We have a page just for that purpose: Opening Explorer FEN Lookup.

The only reason why it can't offer this feature in a general sense is that the processing of every single position from every single game is cost prohibitive. One day we'll hopefully be able to offer that ability.

chessgames.com: How about that Caruana? He plays chess at every event we've heard of (and a few we haven't) then when he finally takes a well deserved vacation, he spends it playing chess.

Anyhow here we have it: 20th Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament (2012).
