| Jan-29-13 | | The Last Straw: Could they have something in prefs like "Whenever using auto-play, move pieces at _ moves per second"? This could be useful for people using mobie devices like iPads, Kindle Fires, etc. Thanks! |

 | | chessgames.com: <The Last Straw> I'm not sure but I think there's a way to do that. I'll get back to you. About World Championship Candidates (2013), we just posted the press release we received. It should suffice for now. |

| Jan-31-13 | | Robed.Bishop: Mac users might find the following link helpful regarding the ongoing (or should I say "recurrent") Java nightmare. http://derflounder.wordpress.com/20... |

 | | chessgames.com: Thanks, <Robed.Bishop>. Also this: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/... We don't have any official recommendation at this time other than to use pgn4web until this gets sorted out. Sorry. |

| Feb-01-13 | | Robed.Bishop: <cg :We don't have any official recommendation at this time other than to use pgn4web until this gets sorted out. Sorry.> If and to the extent your "sorry" was meant for me, it was unnecessary. I understand fully that this isn't a problem created or aggravated by the site, and I want you to know that I appreciate the attention that you've given this. I also recognize that there isn't a lot you can do, but thank you for your efforts. |
|
| Feb-02-13 | | lost in space: I am using a Mac and I am not able to see the games any longer. Tried a lot, including the recommendation offered here (the one I found). Just a "Sorry" is not enough. I am expecting a solution from your side how I am able to use your webside also with a Mac. If not I am asking to get back the money for the prime membership. You do not offer any longer a service I am locking for. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Alien Math> Thanks, there was a typo on the 20th move. <lost in space> It's our policy to provide a refund to anybody who is not satisfied. In circumstances like these, however, I beg that you give us (or rather, the Oracle corporation) a day or two to try to release a patch to fix the problem for your specific platform. |
|
| Feb-02-13 | | Robed.Bishop: <lost in space> Assuming you are using Safari, you should be able to see and play through the games here by changing your viewer to the pgn4web viewer, which is currently the default viewer. You can change your viewer by choosing from the menu just below where the board would be, and be sure to click the "set" button after you choose from the pull down menu. Please pardon the vagueness of my description of the viewer menu, I'm typing this from my phone, from memory only. On a more personal note, please stop being so petulant. |

 | | WannaBe: Installed update 13, tried to view a game with Deluxe Chess Viewer II, got a message, do you want to run this?? Checked 'Always' and selected run, voila, lookin' good so far. |

 | | chancho: <WannaBe> I installed update 13. And it still asks me to to install a plug in.
Do you have Java update 9 on your comp?
I used to have it and I could run the Deluxe Chess Viewer with it, but that is one of the updates that is supposed to be disabled or removed. |
|
Feb-02-13
 | | chancho: I get: Java (TM) is required to display some elements on this page. [install plug in] |
|
Feb-02-13
 | | WannaBe: <chancho> No, after I installed it, in my control panel -> program, I noticed that my v. 11 was gone/removed. Go to control panel -> java -> java -> view, what do you there? If you see a version 1.7.0_13 is it enabled? |
