| Feb-14-14 | | MarkFinan: <FSR: Is A Kiss vs H Titz, 1994 going to be the GOTD for Valentine's Day? Probably more of that activity occurs on Valentine's Day than any other day of the year, so it would be very appropriate.> <chessgames.com: <FSR> Ah, the famous "Immoral Game". Sorry, that kind of humor is a bit too blue for our standards.> ??? Well FSR. if you take a wander down to the So page not only do they have *very* contrasting standards for puns, they touch on every type of humour you could wish for? Or not as the case may be! Gotta be consistent in everything on this website! |

 | | FSR: <MarkFinan> The Wesley So page is an insane land much like Florida, the home of chessgames.com, where the armed citizens will shoot you for anything. http://www.opednews.com/articles/Li... I wouldn't dream of setting foot in either place. |

| Feb-14-14 | | technical draw: <chessgames> It's simple to explain right here. "The do you want to run this application? warning had three options Run, Don't run, and the "Don't show this warning for this site again". The warning that comes up now doesn't have the last option so I'm forced to keep rerunning the app. Save me! |

 | | WannaBe: <technical draw> That is normal for the latest update of Java, that 3rd option have been removed. So, you are able to view game using Deluxe Viewer II? |

 | | chessgames.com: <technical draw> Wannabe is right, that permanent "Are you sure?" window is what we all are forced to suffer with. It's not too bad, really. Once you click "RUN" it will work for maybe 10 minutes without bugging you again. That's as good as it gets these days. |
|
| Feb-14-14 | | technical draw: I know it's just one extra key click of the hundreds of clicks I do everyday but it really bugs (pun intended) me. Oh well I'll live with it. Thanks all for your info. |

| Feb-16-14 | | davide2013: Sorry to ask you, could you add this game to Guess the Move? B Gundavaa vs D Gordievsky, 2013
It was a blitz game, but played between strong GMs, and Black's opening is of theoretical importance, because IM Watson considers 6...Qh4 solid, but in this case Black wasn't able to find the right continuation. |

I just submitted some games, among them 1 by <Oesterreicher> and 2 by <Jerabek> - I found out about their forenames only after submitting the games: Johann Oesterreicher
Viktor Jerabek

Can we please have a forum for the <2014 CASINO GRAZ OPEN>, where 2700 club member <LI CHAO B> is the top seed? Thanks

 | | Tabanus: Hi <CG>, Game Collection: Las Palmas 1972 is ready to be nominated as soon as four correction slips are processed. 1) I noticed that footnotes no. 6 and 8 did not get tiny and subscripted like the others. 2) Will you take in the 35 games from Mallorca 1971? I can understand it if you won't, no problemo, since the moves are not checked against the tournament book but just copied from another (possibly flawed) database. (Rounds, dates, pairings and game results are checked against contemporary newspaper reports.) 3) Reminder: the matches/tournaments in TI are not standardized yet. Perhaps you wasn't happy with the voting in the Bistro? For me, also for example "Staunton vs. Saint Amant (1843)" is fine, as long as there is a standard way. And you are the boss. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Game Collection: Las Palmas 1972 is ready to be nominated as soon as four correction slips are processed.> Librarian is on it. <1) I noticed that footnotes no. 6 and 8 did not get tiny and subscripted like the others.> I don't see that. You mean the footnote numbers or the citations below? In any case just wait and see how it looks in tournament page format and I'm sure you'll get it looking good. <2) Will you take in the 35 games from Mallorca 1971?> Sure, of course. We have to start somewhere. <3) Reminder: the matches/tournaments in TI are not standardized yet. Perhaps you wasn't happy with the voting in the Bistro?> It wasn't my first choice but the people have spoken. Thanks for reminding me, it will be relatively easy. |

 | | Tabanus: Thanks CG! <<1) I noticed that footnotes no. 6 and 8 did not get tiny and subscripted like the others.> I don't see that.> I meant the footnote numbers. It's still like that here. Strange. Must be my old LG screen then. |

Is the <CG Librarian> chess forum still in use? I submitted this game R Muenz vs J Krejcik, 1911 which is identical to this older R Muenz vs J Krejcik, 1898 one. As my version has a primary source - http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/a... - I guess that the dates there are correct. |

 | | Tabanus: <<2) Will you take in the 35 games from Mallorca 1971?> Sure, of course.> CG, I hate to write this but I sent the 35 games already 11 days ago. I suspect there is something weird with my e-mail program, perhaps you have not received them. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Karpova: Is the <CG Librarian> chess forum still in use?> Not really, but it ought to be. <I submitted this game R Muenz vs J Krejcik, 1911> Oh, I see. No problem: I merged the duplicate into the 1911 game. I merged the kibitzing too, as it sheds some light on the confusion. <Tabanus: CG, I hate to write this but I sent the 35 games already 11 days ago. I suspect there is something weird with my e-mail program, perhaps you have not received them.> Oh, it was by email. I thought it was from the PGN Upload Utility. Yes I have them, I'll process them shortly. |

 | | Tabanus: <CG> Thanks, and Palma 1971 is in already. I suppose you prefer the PGN Upload Utility, but it gets tiresome when there are "many" games. |

 | | Tabanus: <CG> See Las Palmas (1972), footnotes 6 and 8 are not subscripted on my brand new screen at work. No big deal. |

|
| Feb-20-14 | | davide2013: Do you think is possible to change the output list in guess the move from 50 games to 100? (Or maybe all the games available for that Player or ECO key)
Because when I look for a player, like Karjakin, it displays only the first 50 games, and I have to do some tricks with the year in order to see the rest. |

 | | chessgames.com: <davide2013: Do you think is possible to change the output list in guess the move from 50 games to 100?> Instead of just upping the limit, the next step would be to make it paginated so that you could move back and forth through pages to see all of the results. However, GTM isn't intended to be search engine. For starters, any GTM game that you've played before is automatically stripped from your search results. The results imply, "Here are 50 games matching your search criteria that you have never played before. Choose one." 50 is quite a large selection--why is it important to have more choices? |
