chessgames.com: Thanks Wannabe, actually I knew about that and we already tweeted the link. But I had heard that yesterday it actually appeared in the print edition; I was hoping somebody could confirm that.

  kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames

Please could there be a Round filter with 'view games' for tournsments like the Norway one. So for example : Round 1 ( view games ) etc

Jun-10-14  MarkFinan: <LIFE Master AJ: haha
Actually, my record is not that accurate, as many of my losses are not here. And I don't care anymore ...

A.) My games cannot be kibitzed upon.

B.) They upload my losses, but not my wins.

In my book, DF has an axe to grind. According to a personal source - in his own chess club - he hates Jews. If this is true, it would go a long way to explain his poor treatment of this NM.>

Is this true Mr Freeman? According to your chess club you're racist! Will you explain yourself to "this NM?".

I obviously don't believe this because of the source, but this NM only has an 80% winning percentage!! Morphy, Fischer ,Kasparov, Tal etc etc have a better winning percentage, just what are you thinking of putting patzers like them in the same pot as "This NM?". Mehhh!?

Probation? Give him a week in solitary LOL

Jun-10-14  TheFocus: That is a serious accusation there. I was under the impression that Daniel was Jewish, but I could be wrong.

I am sure that a large percentage of members are Jewish, so why is <AJ> singled out?

Oh, wait, he is singled out because <AJ> is a paranoid nut-job.

Forgive me for forgetting that.

chessgames.com: <kingscrusher> About searching by rounds:

That is a valuable feature which we have never implemented because the "round" fields of most PGN was so utterly horrible, it would be an embarrassment to let people search on it.

However this problem is being rapidly fixed, as new tournaments almost always have correct round fields, and the older games are being supplied with round and date information by our team of tireless elves.

So in short, yes I fully agree that this is a great idea. There will be some technical hurdles to overcome (a new index on the game table, changes to the tournament page, etc.) but it will surely be worth the effort.

Until we get that done, I'm sure you know, the work-around is just to be really good with mental arithmetic.

  offramp: Um...
On any game page there is this small field :
< Earlier Kibitzing · PAGE 4 OF 4 · Later Kibitzing> Would it be possible to have double chevrons to take one to the first or last page? Those two must be the most popular. After all, how can a kibitzer know that he wants page 162 out of 497?

offramp: Could someone knock up a quick page for the 1992 Short - Karpov candidates final?
Jun-11-14
Premium Chessgames Member
chessgames.com: <offramp> That was considered years ago and our opinion is that the "VCR style" links might be too confusing if they were just << and >> symbols (or alternately « and »)

Maybe that problem wouldn't be too bad if it said "first" and "last".

I do recognize the convenience of being able to jump to the beginning and the end with ease. I often find myself fiddling with the URL in the location bar to get there the quick way. The unofficial workaround at this time is to use the "Jump to page ___" feature, although that's at the bottom of the page and requires more keystrokes.

It's a wonderful wonderful world!

Annie K.: Heh. <cg> OK, the Player Directory finally updated to show the latest audios today, but it's been 5 days. So it's not broken, but might have a small dent, or flesh wound or something? Just saying. ;)

chessgames.com: It should have happened this morning in the wee hours. (I said every few days, but upon rechecking I find it's only once a week, on Wednesday mornings.) I think it worked, didn't it? I see Lev Polugaevsky has an icon now. Which players are missing?
Jun-11-14
Premium Chessgames Member
Annie K.: <cg> none are missing now, I just thought I'd let you know it took 5 days to update, so the math didn't fit with the 3-times-a-week frequency you mentioned. I'm ok with a once a week update too, as long as it doesn't indicate a problem. :)

Is this seriously cryptic, or did I miss something?

I'd like to know the name of that book.

Domdaniel: For the record, I think Daniel Freeman is doing an amazing, brilliant, wonderful, superb, tireless, astonishing, magnificent and all-round pretty good job. And anyone who disagrees is a few pawns short of an opening.

<Is this seriously cryptic, or did I miss something?> Like Jeopardy! that is the answer and now it's up to you to deduce the now deleted question. Hint: The category is Wesley So.
