chessgames.com: Thanks to everybody. I feel like I should compose a eulogy but I'm not very good at that sort of thing. Let me just say that he touched many people and will be always remembered.

  chessgames.com: Sure: Reykjavik Open (2015)

<Are there any <team games> ahead?> Yes, we are scheduled to run Chessgames Team Game IV, but we've also received an intriguing offer from our old friend, CGM Arno Nickel, who has proposed to play a correspondence game of "Lasker Chess". See the discussion starting here Arno Nickel (kibitz #479)

I find Lasker Chess a fairly interesting prospect, and would like to go through with it, even though it would mean postponing the next Team-vs-Team game.

If I understand Lasker Chess correctly, there are two forms a victory: in addition to checkmate, which is the ultimate way to win, stalemate is counted as a "minor win." Repetitions, 50 move rules, and simple draw offers are still in effect, and count as draws. (I hope I described that accurately.)

First, however, I am wondering if people find the notion unappealing or uninteresting? I don't claim to begin understand the ramifications. It obviously effects endgames, but by extension it should therefore change the middlegame and even the opening.

Mar-10-15  jphamlore: Deepest condolences for your loss.

Can we please have a forum for the <2015 VLADIMIR PETROV MEMORIAL>, which just concluded and was won by Ivanchuk?

Thanks

Domdaniel: <CG> Do you plan to download some games from the World Senior team championship (over 50 and over 65 sections) which recently ended in Dresden. The English team were favorites with Short, Nunn and Speelman, but lost out to Slovakia.
