The easiest game to win is the one I'm defending.

Feb-08-17  zanzibar: RE: superfluous king moves at the end of the game...

I think some of these continuations are a fiction of the DGT recording device - when one or the other king gets pushed a square or two aside after the game is over.

Are all the example games with these extra king moves from recent tournaments? I would hazard yes.

  WannaBe: How does one annotate a King being thrown across the room? Kz8 (??)
Feb-08-17  zanzibar: <WannaBe> I believe <NSOCAT> is the standard notation...

Nimzo-stands-on-chair-and-throws

Feb-08-17  diceman: <WannaBe: How does one annotate a King being thrown across the room? Kz8 (??)>

K---atr

atr=Across the room.

Obviously if the King lands on another board you would use the square it lands on, K---atr(d4).

You would need to throw again if the King lands in check.

Get this man some rose colored glasses.

Feb-08-17  zanzibar: <Get this man some rose colored glasses.>

That's the only kind I got!

BTW- It should be Alekhine for the throwing part - although I think I got the standing on a chair part right as concern Nimzo.

Conflated apologies to each.
