 | | Annie K.: <Eats all the carrots and leaves> now that somehow sounds expensive... I think we should try a time unit that doesn't have 9's in the result. ;) |

| Feb-10-17 | | zanzibar: <CG> just wondering.... It used to be that I could do a preview on a new post, then click on a link, visit the link and do a backspace to return to the preview. Lately, something seemed to have changed. Now, when I return to the preview <CG> complains... something like: <Confirm submission (mumble mumble...)> No preview of the material to return to.
Did <CG> change something or is this some new funny business with the browser? (I hadn't changed the browser recently enough to really point the finger at it though) |
|
| Feb-10-17 | | zanzibar: Here's the actual preview return text:

Never used to see that message, it always used to return to the view I had just left. |

 | | Annie K.: <zanz> it's your browser, works for me. |
|
| Feb-10-17 | | zanzibar: <AnnieK> thanks, just curious, what browser are you running? (I'm confused then, as my browser hasn't been updated for a bit. Maybe the cache is corrupt and I should clear it and restart a new session. I'm reluctant to do that as I'm in the middle of a couple of "projects", at the moment) |

Although Safari for Windows and Firefox are not bad either. :) |

|
| Feb-11-17 | | Alien Math: <zanzibar> there used to be a way to disable Material Design by typing in the chrome address bar Chrome://flags and push enter, and selecting Non-material in the options that showed Material Design in the browser's top chrome, another mentioned that loophole was closed,
<Annie K.> sometimes there are alternate pages you can copy/paste the youtube links into and preview or view without having to enter the actual youtube site, such as viewpure.com |

 | | Annie K.: <Hanh> thanks, but I'm not having domain or other technical problems. I just don't want to either load or watch videos. :) |
|
| Feb-11-17 | | zanzibar: <AnnieK> ah, the memory is returning... But as I think I said then, they're often included for the general audience. It's a very funny take on opera, which must be seen to be appreciated. Kim Thompson's first entry on IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1074118/

<alienmath> yes I was aware of that removed feature of chrome. You're find me complaining bitterly about it on the Chrome forums (using my other pseudonym). |

 | | Annie K.: I see... And what gives you the idea that making comments regarding me to the "general audience" is a proper response to my giving you the help you asked for? Let's hope your "general audience" will feel helpful next time you need feedback, eh? |
|
| Feb-11-17 | | zanzibar: Well, <AK> I think I thanked you explicitly for the help originally, and then implicitly via the operatic quip the 2nd time through. But I range off the mainstream sometimes, so I just added the bonus opera link because I enjoyed it myself - and a little dash of spice is my signature, after all. But, yes, I forgot you need special handling and don't do youtube links. I thought you might actually enjoy it, but might need to reassess that evaluation. Speaking of which - here's an archived bio of the filmmaker: https://web.archive.org/web/2004040... She's from Canada, which explains a lot.

PS- AnnieK, please, if you feel put upon I'm sorry. Can't say I feel that I did something wrong here - so perhaps we should just let the general audience reply in the future. If I recall my original post - it was directed to <CG> after all. It's still possible they made a change, after all (ie. your experience with Opera might not be relevant to my issues with Chrome). OK, thanks (and please note that no youtube links were harmed in the making of this post). |
