The "header" is that strip underneath your Profile and above your Forum. It's a picture of something.

Nooo~
The "header" is that strip underneath your Profile and above your Forum.> Doh. Dom's has a book and mine has chess players. Must be a random thing from CG. That's a Panther, isn't it? No tanks to anyone. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Nope.
It is none of the <Panzerkampfwagen> series. Turret the wrong shape, plus the Panther <Panzerkampfwagen Mark V> didn't have Track Guards, it had a lower profile, it had slanted armor on the front of the Turret. It was almost a perfect tank design.
Unfortunately, it was discovered in the Russian campaign that they simply broke when it got too cold. Arguably, overall, the best tanks in the war were produced late by the Russians. KV series- super heavy and powerful gun
T34-- work horse of the Russian theatre, fast, reliable, simple to build, good long gun-- And in 1945 the Joseph Stalin series, which was BIG, FAST, HEAVILY ARMORED, WITH A BIG GIANT GUN-- That series was the design template for post-WWII tanks. Jess of the had a Dad who used to post inspriational messages on our Fridge from World War II and make me watch documentaries with him. One time we were all fighting, and he left a note on the fridge explaining that if the Russians could survive 900 days at Leningrad eating plaster from the walls, we could probably survive our problems. Good gravy!! I idolized my Dad and copied him my whole childhood-- Chess and World War II history. AND NOW I'M BUTCH!!!
I blame society... |

They may not be track guards however. The gun is probably and 88mm. How about this bad boy? http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC073871/Tank.... It's got flanges that might resemble guards. I hesitate to send you to this site because you may enter some butchy ecstatic state. Just remember that babes love history, too. |

 | | Domdaniel: <Just remember that babes love history, too.> Why not? They make it, don't they? My grandmother read only history books: she regarded fiction as lies. Guess that makes me a failed liar. Or a lazy one. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> let them play <1...c5> !! See if I care.
Plus, I like the <reversed Sicilian> best of all so far. Mainly, my Yahooter opponents have been playing <1...e5> which me and <Niels> regard to be DECISIVE heh
<1.Nf3>?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
I'm not <reti> to learn more I'm just starting on my first new opening in over a year!!!!! |

Oops. That link don't dance. Use this one and look at the King Tiger images. The winter versions are easier to see details. Logically the King would be a logical choice next to the 109, although I would have chosen the FW 190, but they never listen to me. http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC073871/all_... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <General Timoshenko> Nope. Look at the Turret-- my header tank has a rounded Turret. Not so, the Tiger...
Quick trivia! NO GOGGLING
What Russian campaign did <GM Timoshenko> lead? |
|

 | | Domdaniel: <by my calculations you haven't slept in six days.> Gave it up. It leads to dreams and we know where *they* lead. |

 | | Domdaniel: < Must be a random thing from CG.> No, you can choose. Maybe they're meant to illustrate our personalities. For them as has 'em. |

Sep-14-08
 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> 1.Nf3 isn't really a Reti. More of a feint to trick your opponent into thinking you're a wimp. I like psychotic lines like the Lisitsyn Gambit, 1.Nf3 f5 2.e4 ... Must be lack of sleep. |

Nope. Look at the Turret-- my header tank has a rounded Turret.> Looks boxy to me, comrade Jessikov. Bet you love that tank site, nyet? |
|
| Sep-14-08 | | Boomie: <Jessikov: What Russian campaign did <GM Timoshenko> lead?> Hazily recall the Southern assault on Berlin. Zukhov had the Northeast approach, which was a lot harder with the Seelow heights and all the rivers and such. But Stalin wanted to keep his best general, arguably the best in any army ever, from becoming too popular. So he gave me the soft underbelly. That's my story and I'm sticking to it until you tell me I'm wrong, which seems most probable. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: No!
He was in charge of the invasion of <Finland> my home country and after he cocked that up he was sacked. That's not a Tiger tank Jimbo.
Great tank site though!! |

| Sep-14-08 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: No!
He was in charge of the invasion of <Finland> my home country and after he cocked that up he was sacked.> I was so wrong in so many ways. First by invading your beloved homeland and second by not grinding it into dust. However I did manage a few minor projects after that such as a minor counter offensive on Kharkov in 1942 but that only involved 640,000 soldiers and so doesn't count. I guess it was Koneheadev or Rimsyrossokorsakovsky in that Berlin thingy. They say memory is the first thing that goes but I forget. I blame the Mad Cow. BTW - A Yaz's Tale emu has roosted in your nest. |

| Sep-14-08 | | Boomie: <Jessica von Dayglo: That's not a Tiger tank Jimbo> Book 'em, Danno. I said King Tiger. It's the one with the cool running boards. |

 | | Domdaniel: <Jess Tyttu> Karelia? Don't go all irredentist - look what happened in Ossetia. Anyhows, here's a quotes that may innarest you - Greenaway's own words on the Cronenberg Twins affair: "David Cronenberg remade a version of it [Z00] a little later as Dead Ringers, after sitting me down for a long quizzing session in a Toronto hamburger bar..." PG not only regards Dead Ringers as a 'remake' but says his technique - twin actors - is actually more challenging than Cronenberg's Irons x 2. If Cronenberg's first name was Nevil or Norris, it'd be PG-vs-NC-17. Oddly, PG seems to have little interest in chess. Despite multiple resonances, klangenfarben, etc. |
|
| Sep-14-08 | | achieve: Bemerkenswertiges, vielfarbiges geklang spüre ich bei dieser 'site'! Die Resonanzfaktor ist auch nicht leichtsinnig zu übersehen. Danke. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hmmm.. Like you, I wouldn't call <The Postman only Dead Ringers Twice> a remake. The ending is similar, as I previously argued in <Notes and Queeries Vol XI No. 30990>. Twins willfully journey to the easefull OOZ,
BTW, <Jeremy Ironing Board> did not portray both roles in the <Chrome Ice Berg> film. Well OK he did actually.
