 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom>, speaking of <Sybil>, did you know your phorum currently has two (2) names? I'm aphraid people may get more conphused than they already might be already. |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | Domdaniel: No need to be afraid, Jess, the thief he kindly spoke. You and I, we've been through this ... I am currently in favour of conphusion. It stretches the little grey cells. I look forward to a long stretch in a little grey cell of my own... conphusion worse conphounded. |

Beauty is only skin-deep!
If I don't have the money, that means I am not allowed to post on your schickimicki forum (sorry, I didn't read that passus beforehand ... nor do I see any proof while going through the kibitzing). Did I get this right? Unmasking and IMO poor fuzzy logic of yours. But I haven't expected too much, no disappointment here. Deleting forum posts is haphazarded censorship (I can life with that), no more no less. Don't mix it up with your abstruse theory how a website works nowadays. Is there a problem (apart from an evident lack of courage) in deleting a comment and basta? Come on it was just to expose something as a lie ... jaja, base motive and not very inventive on my side. Buy hey, maybe it would have been the start of something bigger ;) http://vimeo.com/5143175
<buy a Premium membership and maybe> terrific! Pardon me I better buy food instead ... |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | Domdaniel: <myschkin> I *never* delete anything. Well, not unless Chessgames puts me on lockdown and orders me to. Which has happened. So I must assume you're talking to somebody else? Jessica, perhaps? Why here? We are not actually cohabiting, despite what some people seem to think. And, really. Why bother exposing *anything* as a lie, ever? The world is full of the things. And nobody ever pays any attention to the exposer. You can have fuzzy logic or poor logic -- poor fuzzy logic I'm not so sure about.
Also, food is overrated. |
|
| Jul-03-09 | | myschkin: . . .
In short: @ <jessicafisherqueen> Well bec she deleted it in her forum and she responded . . . here again (I didn't want to have it for obvious reasons on her book forum and didn't need it in front of a big crowd like a players/event page ... if she likes I move there) - so what would you suggest? Ignore her acting clever & smart?
I had some minutes to find a place, went into her profile an schwups ended here. This post has not come out of the blue; she knows I know and that is enough for a 'dialogue' in my view. I wonder why you <Dom> react to the "poor" + "food" complex ... IMO the most dispensable part. Somehow interesting?
Do I further pretent there is 'poor fuzzy logic', nope overwrite it with 'fuzzy logic leading to a poor conclusion' (is that ok? in German I could toast that into one word, not used to do that very well in English). Pick up what she says about non-premiums instead. Even for someone not involved, you can educe a lot about a character reading this once more. Or question why you don't need to delete anything? At least this would be my questions here ... not sure if I would like to hear the answers. PS: Just tell (your) kids food/lies is/are overrated/of any importance + post their reactions after a couple of days here: Machete - that will save all further particulars on that one.
[Dom you can delete this post. I am fine with it. Writing this reply trying to avoid bad style/rants was the exercise. The rest has no importance] |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | Domdaniel: <myschkin> She *is* clever and smart. Trust me on this. And no way will I delete you. It offends my sense of something or other. |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | Domdaniel: <myschkin> Congratulations on using the word 'educe' (= to develop or draw out). I'd bet a lot of so-called English speakers don't even know it -- they probably think you meant 'deduce'. A different thing entirely. You have my sympathy where the agglutinative possibilities of Deutsch is concerned. Sticking words together is fun. I should add that I often pick up on the less important aspect of posts. That's just me. |
|
| Jul-03-09 | | achieve: <I should add that I often pick up on the less important aspect of posts. That's just me.> Dom, please zoom in on the premier aspects first, before doing your ever entertaining triple jive on someone's post. educe, deduce, the direction is the same, you are just a heap of heap calling out in utter delight that you spotted the difference. Now, I remove my virtual tentacles from here, until a more respectable climate appears. If self correctional initiatives fail, try and stomp on someone else, no matter the consequence. Way to go. Best wishes.
That's part of just me.
<before doing your ever entertaining triple jive on someone's post.> I have to apologize: there is no trend, as I imply there. Just this imo unfortunate incident. Gotta get some air now. |

| Jul-03-09 | | mack: - How do you think it's going?
- So-so. |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> sorry to have brought such ruckus into <The Artist Phormerly known as Frogspawn>.
The gasket's been blown and I've just sent out for a replacement. So-
Never mind then! |
|
Jul-03-09
 | | Open Defence: is this the phoodie phorum? phood phor thought surely |
|
| Jul-04-09 | | achieve: <Dom> If I may, I want to apologize for my previous post, in that it was a lashing out, and at an inappropriate time, to you in *your* forum, where you are free to react to posts in any way you want. If, in fact, I had "something to say," I should have done so differently, and my tone was way out of line. I'm sorry. I was venting at the wrong time, place, everything was wrong. Am I wrong??
Again, apologies. I should have restrained myself, but failed miserably. |
|
Jul-04-09
 | | Domdaniel: <Niels> Of course you're not 'wrong'. And you began your message with the word 'please', which is nice. Perhaps the truth is that I'm not very *good* at telling important stuff from less important stuff, generally. Then again, who is? And how can they tell? < I should have restrained myself, but failed miserably.>
To escape from one's own handcuffs is no mean achievement. If you'll excuse the pun. |
|
Jul-04-09
 | | Domdaniel: "As you erudite people well know, the word amphibian comes from the Greek amphi and bios, meaning to live a double life. This refers, needless to say, to an ability to live both in water and on land. In that regard, amphibians are the most adaptable creatures in the world ..." - Tom Robbins, Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas
Adaptable? Or just indecisive? I dunno. |
|
Jul-04-09
 | | Domdaniel: Frogs are philoxenic. I've got proof, uh, somewhere. |
|
Jul-04-09
 | | Domdaniel: Philoxenic means 'hospitable' or 'friendly to strangers'. As we try to be, yes? And which is the new name of the forum too. For now. I've given the other matter some thought. It is *wrong* -- for me, Jess, or anyone else -- to adopt a superior tone towards non-premium members. Because everyone has to start somewhere and not everyone has money. In fact, I don't have much of it myself right now. But I won a lot of CG premium extensions, so I get to hang around indefinitely. Not really relevant. Anyway, I feel faint now cos I actually took a principled stand on a matter of ethics. Doesn't happen often. Think I need to lie down. OK? Also, if I say anymore I'll just start coming up with complex qualifications and acceptable exceptions und so weiter. |
|
| Jul-04-09 | | Boomie: <Dominus Vobiscum: Anyway, I feel faint now cos I actually took a principled stand on a matter of ethics.> Be still, my heart!
My bad, really. I set Jessie's hair on fire and she ran like a banshee through the enemy camp. It was a sight to see but there have been repercussions, of course. I believe the smoke has cleared and all's well. Safe to return to you philoxenic self. |
|
Jul-05-09
 | | Open Defence: have you heard of Doctor Phlox ? |
|
| Jul-05-09 | | Trigonometrist: Er...<Dom>..Not to burst your bubble here but there exisits no word called "Philoxenia"... The word you are refering to ,I think,is "Xenophilia"... But,hey, for a guy who came up with "Phrogspawn","Philoxenia" is good enough... Whatever makes you happy... |
|
Jul-05-09
 | | Domdaniel: <Trig> Must I do this? Xenophilia is the state of being a person who likes foreigners or foreign things. And <philoxenia> - same roots, different sequence - means hospitality. A tiny but significant distinction. So sayeth Chambers dictionary, at any rate.
It's like the difference between hopscotch and a scotch hop. Or <streetwalking> and <walking street> ... |
|
| Jul-05-09 | | Trigonometrist: Isn't "philoxenia" a Greek word? |
|
Jul-05-09
 | | Domdaniel: Greek, yeah. And very, very occasionally borrowed by English speakers. This is one of those occasions. I might even return the loan when I'm finished with it. |
|
| Jul-05-09 | | Trigonometrist: < And very, very occasionally borrowed by English speakers.> Might be why I have never heard of it earlier... |
|
Jul-06-09
 | | Domdaniel: I might switch to 'Phlogiston' next. While I'm in the area. |
|
Jul-06-09
 | | Open Defence: Philistines anyone ? |
|
