 | | Domdaniel: <Deffi> No complaints here. Though maybe <Source: Domdaniel, theatre critic.> should read <Source: Domdaniel, *former* art/cinema/theatre/book/squab critic.> ... ? I'm in semi-retirement from use of the critical faculties. |

 | | Domdaniel: PZ has an IQ of 150? This explains much. They tend to be agressive down in that stratum, especially young males. |
|
| Dec-23-10 | | cro777: Thanks. I accept. Any other improvement?
(English is not my native language). |
|
| Dec-23-10 | | cro777: That explains his overagressive behaviour. |

 | | Domdaniel: <cro777> Your English is a lot better than my Hrvatska. I don't really need an elaborate description. 'Critic' would be fine. Oh -- 'literature' has a 't' too many in the text.
I used to have a few words credited to me in some 'online dictionary of neologisms', but I don't think it exists anymore. |

 | | Annie K.: <Improve>: "cotroversial" in Origin should be "controversial". ;) <Discuss>: Presenting Zhdanov with the claim to fame of having a term coined by him added to an encyclopedia, has got to be one of the least palatable ideas I've heard this year. :s |
|
| Dec-23-10 | | cro777: Thanks, Annie. This is for the amusement of the World Team. |

 | | Domdaniel: < Presenting Zhdanov with the claim to fame of having a term coined by him added to an encyclopedia, has got to be one of the least palatable ideas I've heard this year> I agree.
Best simply to shorten it: <"Originally used as a disparaging term for amateur players with chess engines, it was adopted as a badge of pride by one team ..."> |
|
| Dec-23-10 | | cro777: ...the least palatable idea ever, but acceptable as a joke. |

| Dec-23-10 | | Eyal: <SPACEBAR MASTERS
DEFINITION
Spacebar Masters is a neologism denoting a bunch of chess amateurs using computers without a necessary strategic understanding of the game.> The term I like best for this species is Mig Greengard's <afritzionados>, even though it might be a bit dated - after all, most of them use Rybka, Houdini, or Stockfish rather than Fritz nowadays... [Reference for the OED:
<Black got just enough play to liquidate the dangerous white b-pawn and, after some adventures, head to the fortress R vs Q draw I'd pointed out an hour earlier. It's always nice to stick it to the spectating afritzionados, who see their machines on +4 or something for the queen in a totally drawn position.> (http://www.chessninja.com/dailydirt...)] |

 | | Domdaniel: Totally contradictory, natch.
Also, there is a great amount of Irish and Yiddish wisdom concerning art, craft, scholarship, and the like. But Hungarians seem to dwell mainly on violence. The Dutch and the Danish are good to farm animals. |
|
Dec-23-10
 | | Annie K.: <But Hungarians seem to dwell mainly on violence.> They have much experience with being on the conquered side, mainly. ;) Check your mail when you're done solving the klu... :) |

| Dec-23-10 | | dakgootje: Well, turns out all my tries on cryptograms turned out to be useless after all for clue #61.. Otherwise Karpov vs Sax, 1983 would've been fairly suiting due to the GOTD-pun. |
