Stupid question #1,233

I can't remember all my picks for the <Candidates Matches> except <Judit and Gata>, and I can't find my post that has the list.

Do I have a chance to hit 6/8?

Please don't go to any bother if you have to work to find the answer.

Jess of the wondering if she'll have to grovel to <Plato> a third time.

  jessicafischerqueen: Yo <Plato> come back!!

I miss you.

Jun-02-07  Eyal: <Jess> Thanks for the information about the start time of the tiebreaks tomorrow - it's very possible that I would have missed it!

I was asking about the analysis <samikd> sent you by e-mail (that's what I understood). If it was done by Fritz 10 (which is still the latest version, as far as I know...) it's probably similar to mine. I was curious about this specific position because it's quite instructive - looks almost lost at first glance for Black, but actually he might have an advantage there.

About your prediction contest with <Plato>: things went your way today, as Rublevsky clinched his win over Pono and Adams choked, allowing Shirov to win the last game and equalize the match. Judit lost the match (after drawing the last game), but you both bet on her.

So, at the moment you got right 4 out of the 5 matches which have ended (Leko, Grischuk, Kamsky, Rublevsky), while Plato got only 2 (Leko and Grischuk). This means that after tomorrow's tiebreaks you can get to up to 7/8, while Plato can get only up to 5/8. If I'm not mistaken, your gloating bar was at 6/8, so at the very least you won't be gloated at this time.

Jun-02-07  Eyal: Btw, the relevant posts of the predictions are on p.142 here.

  jessicafischerqueen: omigod I'm so retarded.

See my last post in your forum wondering where your post went when in fact you posted it here.

I have the <heebie jeebies> still from watchin so many <horror films> ina row.

<All> never do that!!

Last night water starts dripping into my Mom's hanging pot, and the pots was swaying.

There was no wind or no rain.

I actually started freaking out.

Then, feeling exactly like a character in a horror film, I "bravely" inspected the pot.

The pot was full of water that was dripping off the roof of the building, I couldn't see the source (maybe a leaky air conditioner? I'm on the bottom floor patio here).

Anyhoo, for physics fans, the pot was so full of water that the stream of water (hitting one side of the pot) was causing it to sway slowly.

I moved the pot to another hook and it stopped being spooky.

THANK GOD FOR THE EXPERIENTAL METHOD

Dam I got <heebie jeebies> and yet more nightmares last night.

I dreamt I had a short black bob instead of long blond hair and that I was kidnapped to an Asian brothel.

Yeesh.

So we're in the same boat!!

Maybe we should go after <guys/girls> we DON'T like for a change.

Could be an interesting experiment!

Jun-02-07  WBP: <Jess. Caught your inquiry regarding the Chessmaster engine in <Eyal's>. I don't know how to use mine, and therefore never have. Some infinitely kind soul many weeks ago posted the proper way to get it going, but I never followed up on it, and can't remember where the post was.

Grande vergogna!

Bet they know how mobilize the engine in Skookum.

(BTW, why don't you just come out an 'fess up that you're <Blako>? If you look at his forum, you'll find it's obvious you've probably revealed a little too much, and there are many on to you!)

Heh.

I think I may post my question to <MannBee> since I believe he is a computer expert, if i'm not mistaken, in addition to being a popular superhero.

Jun-02-07  BishopofBlunder: <jessicafischerqueen: ...Have you downloaded one of those giant databases, by any chance?

Plus, though the database here is great, there are of course way bigger ones.

If you have a huger database, would you mind telling me how to get one too?>

Cut it out!! I'm starting to suffer from database envy!

The (not so) Bad Bishop

Jun-02-07  BishopofBlunder: <jessicafischerqueen: <My Dear Bishop>

so glad to see you again chez mow!>

What'd you call me?!

<This forum isn't the same without your posts.> It's better (Ha!)

<I will try to find the <Stanwyck> film in the "oldies" section of my video shoppe, and I will keep my eyes peeled on the TV schedule.

We get <Ted Turner> channel which shows scads of old movies.

Speaking of horrifying oldies, When I was a kid I saw Vincent Price in <House of Wax> and Bette DAvis in <Whatever Happened to Baby Jane> on TV and they both scared the crap outta me.

You ever seen them?>

I've seen them both. I couldn't sleep after seeing "House of Wax". "Baby Jane" was scary too, but in a different way. That could be going on right next door and you would never know it. Worse, it could be happening to you and your neighbors would never suspect. Both great horror movies. I've always had a man-crush on Vincent Price. (don't tell anyone)

Jun-02-07  BishopofBlunder: <Domdaniel: ...And I bet they never heard of foreplay neither.>

Is that some kind of team chess?

<jessicafischerqueen: Ok <Niels'> has his resume in to be my <Prom Date>.

Remember, applicants are restricted to those who have either read <Carrie> or seen the movie.

Don't want anyone to get a nasty surprise.>

I have read the book and scene (sic) the movie. I would love to be your prom date. However, I cannot afford to get blood on my Tux in the middle of the busy social season. I am sure you understand.

Jun-03-07  Dr.Lecter: Just a page away from <chessmoron> You may just get there.

And can't really get to girls nowadays. Faced another rejection sometime ago watching basketball, so I hate basketball now. Or at least, I'll resume hating it after Cavs-Spurs

Jun-03-07  BishopofBlunder: <jessicafischerqueen: <Bishopric>...No letters, please>

Ah, the old "Vanna White Defense"... How about numbers then?

Which reminds me of an old saying (that I just made up):

"There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those that understand binary, and those that don't."

Jun-03-07  Dr.Lecter: This is my 1001! I didn't even notice. Celebration time, come on!
