jessicafischerqueen: <tactic> I need another day to make my move, as I made plans that both of your previous moves forced me to change.

So you have surprised me twice in a row now with interesting moves that didn't even go in my calculations.

I'm not moving till I formulate another plan.

As <Josh Waitzkin> told me on <Chessmaster Tutorial>, "The position, not YOU, determines what plan is best to follow... and the position changes with each move, so be prepared to be flexible in the push and pull of the Chess Shtruggle."

Heh. He can't pronounce the letter "s".

He's so freakin' cute!!!

Anyhoo, I'll post my response tomorrow, maybe the new plan will come to me in a dream.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tactic> I just updated our FEN. Move will come tomorrow before 3 AM Pacific Standard time.
Jun-12-07  Dr.Lecter: I didn't know who <Josh Waitzkin> was, or what he looked like till now. He is kind looking. I'm sure he would be a great teacher. Maybe I should get a <chessmaster>...

I agree he is rather nice-looking. I'm not gay or anything, mind you. I'm just speaking matter-of-factly

jessicafischerqueen: <Doctor> it's OK Doctor, the guy's obviously gorgeous. He's also an excellent teacher and the 20 bucks that <Chessmaster> costs is worth it just for <Josh's> tutorial.

He's the little kid in the movie <Searching for Bobby Fischer>.

He drew <Kasparov> in a simul when he wasn't tall enough to ride the roller coaster, and he beat IM <Frumkin> with an amazing Queen sac when he was 11 years old.

There was much talk of him being the "next Bobby" till the movie came out.

He got so distracted by the media attention (hot babes were showing up at tournaments asking him to sign thier bodies), that he quit competitive chess and became a US <Tae Kwon Do> champion instead.

Wait till you see a picture of me!

  jessicafischerqueen: <Durango>

For once, a serious post (really).

I'm "out of book" now, and even though I ALWAYS play Scotch with white when given the chance, I still have never reached our present position before. So now we break new ground.

In the interests of "workshopping," even though we are still playing, I originally calculated that you couldn't castle next move because I could drive your Queen off the <e> file and win your Knight. I also calculated that either pawn move to kick back my Bishop offers me interesting possibilities to maintain the initiative (ie, my last move does not actually lose a tempo if you drive back the Bishop, at least in my analysis-- which is suspect, to say the least, since I'm a 1650 Yahoo Player at best). So my bishop move develops the piece and temporarily prevents you from castling, or so I thought when I played it.

But on closer inspection, there is a line where the position becomes VERY unclear (at least to me) if I follow through trying to drive your Queen off the file, assuming you castle next move.

IE, in some of the lines I've been looking at on my board, you can even give up your knight because one of the ways I might be forced to drive off your Queen generates enormous positional compensation for a whole Knight, for Cripe sake.

Anyhoo, the game is unclear to me.

Perhaps it's not good to tell you this, but truth be told I'm looking more to learn than to win in these matches, especially with you since you are the stronger player.

Of course I hate losing!!

Jessfish.

That can only spell danger...

Am I promoted to Syntactics Officer in our (still to be planned) Space Odyssey?

WHERE is that message?? If it's secret it can't be in your place, and it wasn't in mine as well..

I'm gonna check my emails right away!

Hang on..

Jun-12-07  achieve: <HEY! At least you can watch the <Candidates matches> live. I can't be getting up at 4 AM here.> The heck you can!

Go to bed (without laptop) at 22:00, sharp, and set your alarm clock at blah blah blahh and you'll be in fine spirits and fresh as a daisy!

Btw I've checked my mail and nothing from Dom there.. I'll keep my eyes open and my fingers crossed.

I go for Rublevsky and Aronian - let's wait and see..

Jun-12-07  achieve: Josh Waitzkin: "No chansh, no chansh, mate."

Jun-12-07  achieve: <Domd>-<Great stuff. I totally agree. I think this may explain why Niels and I get on so well -- we're quite alike, but each of us thinks the other one is *nicer*.

Heh. If he only knew...>

I know. Let's see.. Maybe It's like this:

Me - nicer, not so smart
You - smarter, not so nice
Me - perfect pitch
you - close to tone-deaf
Me - enjoys your writing
You - writer
Me - did not read that many books
You - read many books

I think we complement each other very well. (spookyyy....)

AND We both think that <Jess> is a great gal! And chess is a great game and...

We're both Sons of Bi'ches

(sigh, we are alike..)

Jun-12-07  achieve: RESPECT to Dom and Jessfish for being so kind!

I'm not that "kind" as far as I can recall (exclam or not)

I promise you both a hot summer and lots to talk about!

You're both of exceptional quality and that is why enjoy you so much.. Everyone with a titbit of brain should recognize that...

As a result I will be going over to Joe's and greet him in the appropriate way.

GOOOOO SPURS...!!!

I'm yer favorite gal!! Heh.

<Niels> I will tell you the answer to the <important secret> in a email. It's much, much simpler than what you think.

WannaBe: Two moves? Here's how you do it:

"It's just a jump to the left (knight)" then, "And then a step to the right (King)"

There, you're all set!

jessicafischerqueen: <MannBee>! Where have you been hiding??

Vintage <MannBee>, coming to the rescue and then <buzzing off>, cape flying.

Thank goodness for your recent election to the <League of Justice>.

Jun-12-07  chessmoron: Hey <jess>, just a quick flyby. 2 more finals to go. I'm going to eat lunch and take another final.

About your recommendation on the movie ...persuasion, maybe I'll see it or maybe not or I'll just rent Spike Lee's Do the Right thing--even more controversial.
