jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Jun-20-07  WBP: <Oh now I get it. <Bill> it's fine to comment on moves already played, as long as you don't mention moves that might be played later> Oh, yes, <Jess>. I definitely see a King vs. King and pawn, and King and pawn vs. King and two pawns ending in two of these ongoing games at this point, but would never otherwise volunteer moves, suggestions, etc. :=)

  jessicafischerqueen: Rah!

I know squat. I only know four openings passably--

But with the Opening Explorer, we can try them all in Correspondence play.

I read a lotta chessbooks, yes.

I got two the other day. One on DEFENCE and one by NIMZOWITCH about how to play good moves.

I only looked at a few games from the books so far though.

Wikipedia has an article on every chess opening, even the wierd ones.

Like <1.a6>, which <Karpov> lost against.

jessicafischerqueen: Another tip- lots of openings are named after animals.

Elephant gambit, Hippopotamus, Pelikan Sicilian, Dragon, Bird, and the little known <Swine>, which goes <1.Nf3 Nf6 2.Ng1 Ng8 3.Nf3 Nf6>.

<Kasparov> played the <swine> against a <wastepaper basket> at <Linares> once and only got a draw.

It's a fact!

jessicafischerqueen: <bill> no, no, no, no.

the PLAYERs are allowed to suggest moves, threaten each other, bring lawsuits, etc.

the WATCHERS can only giggle about past moves.

Its a fact!

Jun-20-07  Ragh: <I read a lotta chessbooks, yes. > Oh boy, tell me that this is only a strategy for psychological advantage..

Did our game get outta theory already, coz just like <<1.a6>, which <Karpov> lost against>, I prefer to deviate from theory as early as possible while playing masters.

Jun-20-07  WBP: <Jess> Oh yeah, I already knew that--hope I didn't confuse things (i.e., make you nervous that I'd start recommending moves, etc.).

<Another tip- lots of openings are named after animals> The English, for example.

jessicafischerqueen: Rah! Nope it's not outta theory yet. I'm not kidding about the chessbooks, no.

But it doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about either.

  jessicafischerqueen: ENGLISH LMAO HAHAHAHAHAH

heh. Pommie Bastards.

Jun-20-07  Ragh: I think your swine opening is very tempting, you can waste as many tempi as you want.

<Another tip- lots of openings are named after animals> I heard that coyote, jellyfish, chimp, bengal tiger too are next in line to be named too.

jessicafischerqueen: Rah! You mean they have a list like they do for Hurricane names?

I wonder if Ragh is on the Hurricane name list.

could be, for all we know.

Jun-20-07  Ragh: Do you know who Haryana Hurricane is?
Jun-20-07  WBP: <Do you know who Haryana Hurricane is?> No, but if you hum a couple of bars, it might come back to me.

  jessicafischerqueen: Heh.

tell us <Ragh>. A Cricket player? Chess player?

Chess playing Cricket?

Jun-20-07  Ragh: Correct guess. He is a cricket. http://www.haryana-online.com/Peopl...
Jun-20-07  Ragh: Hey <WBP>, what do you have to teach tomorrow to the kinders.
Jun-20-07  Ragh: Jess, your mortal enemy is currently hovering around <achieve>'s forum. He posted <3x23=69> :)
Jun-20-07  samikd: How about openings named after the world champions ? I am compiling a list (in my forum ), you guys can drop by and make your contributions. After the list is final, I will put it in some more permanent place

  jessicafischerqueen: <Durango> <Tarrasch Variation in the French>

I was just looking at it tonight.

Oh wait he wasn't World ChamP

Never mind.

<sharky> can post wherever he likes, he's still a nincompoop.

KK I gotta watch my videos now lads. See you later.

jessicafischerqueen: I guessed right!! He was a CRICKET!!
Jun-20-07  Ragh: Yes, but not that zoology cricket.
Jun-20-07  Ragh: <samikd> I hope you won't discriminate against FIDE world champions 2000-2006 saying that they are not true WCs.
Jun-20-07  samikd: <Ragh> lol.. no, I beleive they were as much world champions as Kramnik etc were, because it wasn't their fault if the chess world was divided and no format was in place. However, fortunately I dont have to enter this debate once more, because I couldnt think of any openings/variations named after Anand, Khalifman, Ponomariov, Kasimzhanov and Topalov. However, if you know of any, please post in my forum. I have already made a list off the top of my head, and it looks interesting; but I am sure there is a lot I am missing
Jun-20-07  samikd: <He was a CRICKET!!>

Dont insult him like that (whoever you are talking about). He was a CRCIKETER !
:)

Jun-20-07  samikd: <Such as <Qh9++>, which is my ultimate plan against <Durango>>

First you take away all my pieces, and then you propose a 9x9 chessboard. Cheating is bad you know, if you wanna win, win fair and square.

Jun-20-07  Ragh: That sounds cool <samikd>, I left a message in your forum. <Jess> How the hell did you manage to near the 7000 post milestone already. Weren't you 6000 like yesterday and 5K a week ago. The <spamqueen> is getting old ;)
