jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

jessicafischerqueen: <Bill> I think I already asked you this before, but I'm considering buying <Fritz> so I can do my own analysis of games, including on the Net.

But I already have a <chessmaster> engine. I can't get it to "go" from an edited postition though. Remember someone else posting the same problem, and that long series of instrutions another guy sent in on how to do it.

Have you figured it out yet? I'm wondering why there aren't clear instructions on how to do it in our user manual.

You'd think they'd make that clear, since most people buy engines to do analysis.

sorry if this is redundant, but I need to start engine analysis over the games I lose on the Internet or I'm not going to get any better.

I'll just keep making the same mistakes over and over.

pfffft. We have an open position!

Everyone knows <bishops are bad and knights are good in open positions>.

If you memorize that, you will win more games!

jessicafischerqueen: plus, i believe the correct term is <Horsies>.
Jun-21-07  Ragh: OK, then I am going to close the position pretty soon.
Jun-21-07  Ragh: And here it is.. c6!! I decided to give it an excellent move notation.
Jun-21-07  Tactic101: I was also "trash talking" a bit in the beginning, but as things wore on, I finally realized (too late) that <jess> is ruthless and I gave in. But <jess>, if you were to go to gameknot, you'll find all my best games have been with white.

PS: Would it be okay if I use some of my opening reference material during this game? Which opening I'm going to play is something I'll not tell you, purely for survival reasons (my survival, as a matter of fact).

Jun-21-07  WBP: <Jess> <Is it OK to forward this immortal comedy piece to our friends via EMU?> Of course.

Concerning chess engines: from what I understand, Chessmaster is supposed to be good, though I've never used it (and don't know how). I haven't figured it (Chessmaster) out yet, but I do recall some very kind soul (<Ferocious Beast>?) telling us a way back how to do it, that advice buried long ago. :=(

I think that you're on the threshold of new level in your chess--a very exciting level; your games right now are quite impressive!

Jun-21-07  Tactic101: Why don't you create another handle called "FerociousBeast2"?

Oh, by the way, it's your move.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tactic> yes of course you can use any and all reference material you have access to, including your own games, all books, and all databases.

Still deciding, I'm leaning towards <Dutch> but I'm not going in unprepared.

jessicafischerqueen: <Thanks Bill> but I'm afraid I'm much less impressive when I don't have hours to figure out one move, as my chess tutor can confirm.

Jun-21-07  Tactic101: A Stonewall, perhaps? Or maybe the Lenigrad? Take your pick. But it's okay if you take some time to make your move.

jessicafischerqueen: Also, to remind all again, I have only twice beaten someone higher rated than me in Correspondence.

<Niels, Joe (twice) and Samikd> slaughtered me, and I was unable to make any progress against <Wilson>.

At the end of the day, I think "ratings" tell most of the story.

Jun-21-07  Davolni: hey Jess. how u doing? have u heard anything from <Plato>??? havent seen him around lately. Does he have another screen name or something?
Jun-21-07  Tactic101: Well, now you're slaughtering <samikd> and <squares> and it most certainly is not funny. Those positions you're getting are ones I dream about. I live for them like you do.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tactic> untrue! <Squares> still has plenty of play left, he's playing <rat> defence. I like my position better though.

And <Samikd> is at least equal, IMO.

BTW, I choose <Dutch> against you, move is up on the FEN now.

  jessicafischerqueen: hi <Davolni>!

Not bad, and you? I haven't seen <Plato> for ages. Maybe he's just taking time off?

I doubt he's kibbuting under another name.

Jun-21-07  Tactic101: The Dutch......... okay........ alright..... calm down from that last loss......... I play Nf3.
Jun-21-07  achieve: Yo! The Dutch rules!

Lars says HIGH to Fatso, Donald and, of course, Bonehead!

I think he's in love ( he's breathing heavily when I mention him)
