jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

jessicafischerqueen: <RAH!> I meant my Q. Knight, of course.

sigh I think I made a stupid move there last time. But I think <c3> was necesary here. I had you by the nuts there and you slipped away!!!

Curse you Rah!!!!!!

Jun-23-07  mack: Take your time, and all that. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm lodged firmly in the sixties and so the wonderful Yes Minister isn't covered. I have spoken to co-creator Antony Jay before, and he's a thoroughly nice man. Wrote for TW3, too.
Jun-23-07  mack: I saw Pommie Bastard and yes, I accept that he exists.

jessicafischerqueen: <Mack> W0w!! I love <Yes Minister> and all them other fey Brit-Coms as well. When you interviewed the guy, did he sneer menacingly?

I even like <Benny Hill>.

Thank god for <Public Television> in the US, and the fact that they are so poor they can't actually pay to make shows.

So they just bought every <Brit-com> ever made for the last 50 years.

We even got <Young Ones> over here, if you can believe it.

jessicafischerqueen: Heh. I INTERVIEWED Pommie and he asked me for my phone number, the geat pillock.
Jun-23-07  mack: Believe it or not, there are some people who don't like the Young Ones. Screw 'em. It makes me sad talking about sitcoms of olde though, because we can't seem to produce a decent one over here for toffee now. I'm having another aneurysm Jess, cheers...

I'm not sure how big a student of Whitehall you are, but for me what is so impressive about Yes Minister is its accuracy. Everything is in place. Part of this is to do with the fact Jay and Lynn spent a great deal of time having liquid lunches with lobby correspondents like the brilliant Peter Hennessy.

jessicafischerqueen: <Mack> yes, the dialogue is very convincing to the "laywoman." You certainly seem to be an expert on British politics.

Heh. Yer not getting off the hook that easy. I got an angle here. "dancing queens, young and sweet, ONLY SEVENNNNNNNTEEEEEEEEEEN"

<Qd3> for me!!

Jun-23-07  samikd: <Heh. Yer not getting off the hook that easy.>

Who wants to get off the hook ? I want to dance with you forever. Its awesome ! I play <Qa6>.

hint: I will not move the Queen to any square from where I can't get back to <d6> and/or <e6> :)

Jun-23-07  Open Defence: hmpppph!! <Dom> is ignoring me... he hasn't learnt from the chewing gum lesson <jess>

jessicafischerqueen: <Samuel S. Jackson> <a6> is not a good square for you Queen, mate.

Want a "do over" move?

your call.

Jun-23-07  WBP: Hi <Jess> Just looking in. Busier than hell melting snowballs. Watching the games with great interest. Amused, as always, by the banter. Wish I could add something witty to it, but sometimes it's more fun just watching from the sidelines!
Jun-23-07  samikd: OK you have me concerned now. Did I miss something obvious and do something stupid ? Is there a checkmate ? I don't see any, but I don't know...

No I don't want a takeback. Make your move and if there is a forced mate, I want to see it. Sometimes it helps me to be pointed out how stupid I am

Jun-23-07  mack: <the "link" is safe and sound.>

It's safe enough, I'll give you that.

Jun-23-07  YouRang: <jessicafischerqueen> Hi there. I noticed the mention of "Brit-coms". Did you ever see a show starring John Cleese called "Fawlty Towers"?

  jessicafischerqueen: <Sammy> relax man.

I think we're in some kind of weird mutual zugzwang here.

Whoever moves their queen off the file seems to lose position.

You want a draw?

Jun-23-07

jessicafischerqueen: I'll take a draw if you like. I busted my brain for some way to break up the "dance" without losing initiative, but I can't see a clear path here.

It's your call big man
