Jul-21-07  Eyal: So, not a bad result for Batchimeg at the US championship - 4th place with a +2 score (US Women's Championship (2007)).
Jul-21-07  MadBishop: Hey there! Don't know if this game will be interesting to you or bore you to death. Either way, here it is... ;-)

Wel, you don't see many sacrifices in corresp chess anymore(except with computer help or the obvious mate or mating attack)so i decided to give my game some spice!   jessicafischerqueen: <Mad Bishop> yes it's an interesting game and I like the way your annotations reveal your "thinking process," I find this to be particularly instructive. I think this kind of annotation is not practiced often enough, but then I'm VERY interested in the "Psychology of Competition", as <Josh Waitzkin> puts it.

Any and all games are welcome in this forum, especially annotated games.

Regards,
<Batchimeg Tuvshintug>

<Eyal> thanks, yes I noticed that and played through all her games. She had quite a few decisive results in her favor.

I predict her Rating rises steadily through this year.

I bet it's already over 2300 based on the past tournament alone, though I know less about how "ratings" work than your average <Cocker Spaniel>.

Jul-21-07  achieve: <...though I know less about how "ratings" work than your average <Cocker Spaniel>.> Same here. That's why I always ask Lars.. He tells me ratings are of little significance, in a way..

  jessicafischerqueen: ok BUT i forgot.

<now <<<<is>>>> blue>

Jul-21-07  achieve: Btw If you change the angle of your laptop screen by an inch the color changes already... For example my avatar is <light orange> I believe but a friend told me that it was <pink> and insisted on it.

Goes to show..

  jessicafischerqueen: it's <chartreuse>!
Jul-21-07  achieve: According to DOOGLE, <Chartreuse yellow> is the official colour of a tennis ball.

Now I'm confused and feeling blue..

  jessicafischerqueen: er... <Magenta>?

<Niels> resorting to DOOGLE will only confuse matters further.

Try <uncyclopedia> for more accurate information.

Jul-21-07  achieve: <Jess> Gee.. The number of words for shades of colours is startling... From now on I will resort to you! ONLY!

  jessicafischerqueen: Good gravy don't go by me <Niels>. I only know the names of the colours, I don't actually know the "colours" eacb name corresponds to!!
Jul-22-07  achieve: You don't fool me, young Lady!

For now I will stand by my decision, <Jess>

Period.

;-)

Jul-22-07  achieve: <Jess> Movie tips:

<3 going 30>

and:

<Lucky Number Slevin>

Impressive cast: Josh Hartnet, Bruce Willis, Lucy Liu, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley...

Dark comedy, with some very funny dialogues.

Plot Outline:

A case of mistaken identity lands Slevin (Josh Hartnett) into the middle of a war being plotted by two of the city's most rival crime bosses: The Rabbi (Ben Kingsley) and The Boss (Morgan Freeman). Slevin is under constant surveillance by relentless Detective Brikowski (Stanley Tucci) as well as the infamous assassin Goodkat (Bruce Willis) and finds himself having to hatch his own ingenious plot to get them before they get him.

RIGHT!
RENT IT!!

Jul-22-07  WBP: <Jess> Very quick note from <Clagary!!!> Great town, so far. Love it! Can't get enough of you guys' money--so colorful and fun compared to our puitanicl, bland, unimaginative greenbacks. (Thought the guy on your ten dollar bill looks the actor Sam Waterson having fallen on bad times and now being asked by his doctor to turn his head sideways and cough.) I found out in one of my boks on Canada that "skookum" actually means "Handsome." Could we say that young Tal was "Skookum"? ("Skookum Tal"). Remember, I layed him! More later
Jul-22-07  BishopofBlunder: <jessicafischerqueen: Good gravy don't go by me <Niels>. I only know the names of the colours, I don't actually know the "colours" eacb name corresponds to!!>

You don't even know how to spell "colors"!

But I still love you anywhey...

  Domdaniel: I left my pump in San Francisco. She broke my pump in three places. Pump of glass. Throwaway pumps for the age of transplants. Pump like a wheel. Anyone who had a pump would turn around and break it.

I keep a close watch on this pump of mine...

  Domdaniel: <Coloures> Personally, I prefer Chaucer's spelling, 'coloures', pronounced something like call-hoor-ezz. But Mod Eng 'colours' (OED) and Mod Amer 'colors' (Webster) are acceptable when one is posing as a hip, trendy, modern, post-dark-ages person.

I *did* notice recently, when I was masquerading as <IdleNomad> and using an unfamiliar computer, that many of the colours looked different.

Ah, philosophy. Is it all in the mind? When you see green do I see taupe? When you see red do I see smaragdine? Is there a Dog? Is there a Frog?

And what do you get if you cross a microwave with a lavatory?

James Clerk Crapper (retd.)

PS. Who put the Evil Eye on Kurtz? 0/2? He's been stuffed, mounted and batchimegged in Montreal... emanations from Zen Chez Len, maybe?

  jessicafischerqueen: <Pump like a Wheel> is also the title of a VERY fine film about the only woman to capture the <World Drag Racing Championship>, starring <Bonnie Bedelia>

  jessicafischerqueen: <Bill> very glad you are enjoying <Calgary>. My Dad was born there, he once said <they should put a giant plastic bag over it and let it compost>.

However, there are many, many <Skookum> sightings in the Bamff area.

Happy Hunting!

Jul-22-07  Ragh: Does Drag Racing even require any driving skill. :) No steer maneuvers are required at all in most of the races. On the other hand, Formula One is a lovely sport.
