 | | jessicafischerqueen: Actually, it was an <Office of Education> conference in a room where they refused to turn on the air conditioning. I almost melted. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hi <Niels>!!
I've been trying to write you a proper EMU but I'm having trouble finding the words, thanks for being so patience. The Emus you sent me deserve a detailed reply, I loved them so much. Are you really going to be a lawyer?
Like on <Law and Order>? That's my favorite show. |
|
| Oct-03-07 | | achieve: <...but I'm having trouble finding the words..> Somehow that doesn't sound like "you", <Jess>.. WRITE IT!! You can always make adjustments afterwards.. Kidding here, take all the time you need-- I'm expecting a masterpiece now ;-p I'm not going to become a lawyer, but I am doing some work for a firm that supported me in a law suit a few years ago, and we won a case against the Government (Health Care) in a glorious way... After that I decided to help with certain cases, as we got along really well. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: What case are you working on now?
Is it "classified" information?
Does it involve spies?
I heard you look like <Matt Damon>. Is it true? I saw the <Bourne Identity> on TV over here. |
|
| Oct-03-07 | | achieve: Pretty much classified, nothing very special, just helping out in cases where HC is squeezing people who shouldn't be. I have three movies here
<Zodiac> <NEXT> and <Breach> Robert Downey Jr. is playing in Zodiac, I'm a bit like him ! Branko has a picture BTW |
|

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Gol darn it I have supposed "access" to <Zodiac> but my dang PC won't downlod the shareware. I really want to see it, I love <Robert Jr.>. If you look like him you are lucky.
did you see his amazing performance as a serial killer in the FIRST RATE horror film <In Dreams>? I recommend it highly.
I liked <Breach> a lot too. Good work sticking it to the man <Niels>. Does <Lars> carry your briefcases on the more important cases? I need to know. |
|
| Oct-03-07 | | achieve: I still have to watch <Breach> with Ryan Philippe, no? Is he really good? Robert D was very good in Natural born Killers, too.
I just like his style and attitude in general.
I'll ask for In Dreams next time, promise.
<Does <Lars> carry your briefcases on the more important cases?I need to know.> Lars even carries ME in important cases-- how about that! Btw Jake Gyllenhaal plays surprisingly convincing too, in Zodiac, although the editing/montage is a bit jumpy at times... |
|
| Oct-03-07 | | chessmoron: How the HELL are you? How's you teaching and meeting couple of hundred Korean kids? |
|
Oct-04-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Not bad thanks!!
I'll get you for this <Wilson>. You know full well I'm only allowed to type "Heck" now. I swear you'll pay for this.

| Oct-04-07 | | achieve: Hi, <Jess>! Thank you vewwy much! "Je bent een topper!", I'd say in Dutch ( haven't found the right translation that captures it, yet-- I am working on it) I'll send you an annotated game I finished at GameKnot recently- illustrating the "wonderful world of d4.." <movie reviews> Zodiac wasn't really a 'must see', looking back, and <Next> with Nicholas Cage, was much alike the <Deja Vu> theme. <Breach> I saw a part off, but I wasn't THAT impressed to be honest.. Maybe I am very critical in that respect. <Chris Cooper> played majestic, though, so I'll give it another chance tonight.. Anyhoo, you'll hear from me by EMU as well soon. |
|
| Oct-04-07 | | Tactic101: I'm planning to put Jess's favourite saying "How the hell are you?" in the Memorable quotes forum. It's immortal like Chess Classic's "Regards, CC". :) |
|
Oct-04-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hey! Cut that out!!
You guys know I'm the only one not allowed to use that phrase. No fair!!
Regards,

PS <Tactic> how the heck are you? |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Ok <Niels> I've got my wooden board out, I've put on the black coffee, and i'm going in again to re-read the last two pages from the <great Jan Timman> thread. And I'm in no hurry here. I await your report.
I want to understand this position.

Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: No, no, it was merely a reference to the old <Batman and Robin> TV show. I just pretended I'm playing white in a Club game OTB and posted my preliminary thoughts. Here they are:

Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hmmm. If I were <<<playing>>> this position I'd be dreaming of how vulnerable black's Kingside dark squares would be if I could trade off his DSB.
Imagine how great it would be to trade it off with a White Knight. In a game situation, I'd be thinking black would be planning to expand pawns on the Queenside and generate space, specially with my Queen kind of awkwardly placed. In my mind, I'm thinking about how the White Queen might be very nice in a battery behind the DSB on the c1-a6 diagonal. I see two people voted for Qb3-- I suppose the idea to temporarily prevent the activation of the White LSB while providing a path for the queen to get back into the center, as opposed to in front of the Queenside pawns. In my imagination, (which always looks for danger in a game), I'd view a long term threat being my Queen becoming a target for a black pawn advance on the queenside-- I imagine her being driven back with tempo by advancing pawns and maybe even cornered or rendered impotent. I'd consider Ng5 as a method of inviting a black h6 to kick it away, which might weaken black's kingside pawn structure. I doubt the <great Jan Timman> would play h6 though. The dream square for the knight is of course an outpost on e6 where no pawn could kick it away. Imagine how monstrous a white knight would be on that square. Now, actually getting a knight there might be a bit tricky. OK these are my preliminary thoughts after staring at my board for about 15 minutes pondering what plan I might make in a OTB game. Apologies in advance if such personal observations are counterproductive to the project at hand.> Regards,
JFQ

 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> Reporting as per command. How the heaven are you? <je bent een topper> is Dutch for "you bent my top hat" and is a traditional way of starting a duel between gentlemen and other gentlepersons, like a velvet glove in the face, thwack. I suggest ICBMs at 20 paces, or feather-dusters at 50. Do I ponder the Timmergame now, or what? |
