 | | jessicafischerqueen: Heh thanks <Niels> I'd already forgotten about that. Ok it's the weekend and this is how exciting a girl I am-- Instead of going into the <big town> to get drunk I'm spending the evening with <Kingscrusher> and the 7 new <chess analysis videos> he added today. Does this make me pathetic?
I don't care.
I'm just biding my time till I get to a place where they have OTB chess clubs. I prefer the company of chessplayers and philosophy/literature students. Oh yes and I absolutely adore Korean children. A whole week of gruelling work is worth one single sunny smile from even one of them. So shoot me!!

You know how I think of you- and the word pathetic does not enter my mind for one millisecond... Good tip! I have to check up on the videos, myself!
I found another guy on youtube who posts at least the same quality of games analyses.. I will give you the link later...
<A whole week of gruelling work is worth one single sunny smile from even one of them.> I loved that... |

Here is that game explained - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fO4... "He wasn't afraid to show his feelings.." |

| Oct-19-07 | | WBP: Hey, <Jess> do they have Halloween over there? What's your costume going to be? This year I plan to grow a beard, spray deodorant on it, and go as an armpit. (OK, I guess that's gross!) |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Heh. Armpit.
<Halloween> is my favorite holiday by far. The Koreans incorporate a version of halloween in their "Thanksgiving," a five day holiday known as <Cheo-sok>. You pray to your dead anscestors in the Graveyard, then go home and eat tasty rice cakes, a roast dog (not kidding), get drunk as a newt, and gamble all evening playing "Go Stop": the Korean version of poker. At night, young girls dance in a circle under the moonlight. The worshipping in the graveyard and female moon dance are thousands and thousands of years old and, as you no doubt know well, are found in virtually every human culture. These kinds of rituals date from the beginnings of the agricultural epochs of most civilizations. I am dressing up as a <murderous earth goddess> and sitting in a graveyard all night by myslef. After watching 300 horror movies.
I love Halloween.
I'm carving a pumpkin as well.
I'm glad you still like "Ween" as well.

| Oct-24-07 | | brankat: Hi there stranger!
How are things with You? Fluent in Korean already? Has Your Your last name changed? :-) Busy with Halloween? Actually I didn't even know it was observed in the Far East. For some reason (?) I assumed it was just a part of the western tradition. Take care. All the best to You. |

| Oct-25-07 | | Elixir of Life: Hey <Jess>
I am really bored these days.
Do you fancy another correspondence game? |
|

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Heh HAPPY HALLOWEEN <branko and deffi and niels and elixir>!! Boo!
I'm sorry, My dear <Elixir> but <branko>, as usual, is correct. I don't have time to play a Correspondence game due to my heavy teaching workload. I play maybe 3-4 games on Yahoo on weekends at <One hour each> or <ten minutes a move> time control, that's all I have time for. Correspondence games (at least for me) require several hours a day, minimum, to play properly. However, if you should like to play a game on <Yahoo>, say at <one hour each>, I'd be happy to. Just post here or email a time and day, and we can meet in a room to play. I have to play <RAH!> on Halloween- we are playing a <first to 6.0> World Championship, which we are in the middle of. We are quite evenly matched, so it's a very fun series. Hope you are well!

| Oct-26-07 | | Elixir of Life: <Jess> Hmmm... I have a very old Yahoo! account rated at 990 - oh the clueless patzer days :). However I do play on FICS. I believe that FICS is better than Yahoo! considering the general environment. The people are more friendly, your opponent can't pull the plug on games (if he does, you can ask an admin to adjucate the game), and the overall playing skill there is better (I have a feeling that Yahoo! players rely too much on tricks & unsound play. They play brilliantly a moment and then blunder horribly the second.) |
|
| Oct-26-07 | | Elixir of Life: If you are curious, go to freechess.org.
You need a stand-alone client to play on FICS. So just click on "download" and I recommend you download the BabasChess client. |
