Dec-01-07  Boomie: <JessiKim: people were pointing at me and laughing.>

And then they noticed the hat. Seems appropriate somehow to wear a Miss Piggy sock puppet on your head.

jessicafischerqueen: Yes, I'm still very excited about the hat. I can't wait to wear it to work tomorrow.

Dec-02-07  notyetagm: Be sure to checkout my explanation of the winning variation that Alekhine gives in Capablanca vs Nimzowitsch, 1928: Nimzowitsch missed winning a miniature(!) with Black(!) against Capablanca(!), all due to the power of the <PIN>.

jessicafischerqueen: Thanks for the link <notyetagm>!

I'm going in now to check it out.

I just played my Internet "game of the day" on Yahoo and I've been attempting to "analyze" the result with my crappy Engine.

jessicafischerqueen: My <Weekend game of the week> (meaning the one I won, of course): "SLOPPY SCANDINAVIAN"

Me (1788) V. Really Crabby guy who yelled at me a lot in the chat box (1695)

Yahoo
10 minutes a move

1.e4 d5
2.exd5 Qxd5
3.Nc3 Qa5
4.d4 c6
5.Bc4 Nf6
6.Bd2 Qb6
7.Bc1? Bf5

<I’m supposed to invite the taking of the “poison pawn” by playing Nf3 here— I know that’s the main line in this variation but I had other ideas in mind and I wanted to try something daring/stupid. So I did.>

8.Bb3 e6
9 Nf3 Bg4
10.Qd3? Bxf3 <Giving up my d-pawn but it’s all part of the “plan” to chase his Queen around and get some quick development.>

11.Qxf3 Qxd4
12.Be3 Qb4
13.o-o-o Bc5 <got my quick development but I don’t want to trade any pieces>

14. Bd2 Qg4 <no way am I trading queens I’m already planning a suicidal lunge on his Kingside—what Kingscrusher calls a “hack attack”>

15.Qd3 o-o
16.f3 Qxg2 <all part of the plan, wanting to open up the g-file and he has castled Kingside>

17.Be3 Nbd7 <Engine shows me almost 2 pawns down but I don’t care>

18.Rdg1???? <Now this loses pretty much on the spot- I didn’t see that this gives him Ne5!! And my “attack” evaporates—However, he didn’t see it either. Maybe he shouldn’t have been yelling so much telling me to move quicker. Heh.>

…Qxf3 – <a bit greedy I think and NOW I GET TO GO NUTS>

White to play- Whaddya do?

click for larger view

19. Rxg7+! Kh8 <he should take the rook right away- Engine shows me with a slight advantage if he takes the rook>

20.Rxh7+! Nxh7 <absolutely forced and I know I have his Queen now>

21.Bd4+ Kg8 <Bxd4 is better but White is still winning>

22.Qxf3 Bxc4? <Loses on the spot but I’m still ahead anyhoo if he finds better>

23. Qg4+ Bg7
24..Rg1 RESIGN

Heh. I feel like <Paul Morphy> but a retarded version (overlooking his 18…Ne5!! Which would have made all of my SWASHBUCKLING fall apart immediately).

I was VERY EXCITED TO PLAY AND WIN in such a reckless manner even though “objectively” I lost.

Sue me!!

Dec-02-07  achieve: This is the fun of human chess! Congratz!

Btw I'd pick to be a retarded version of Paul Morphy any day of the week and twice on...

Some flashy tactics right at the end there miss Morphy!

jessicafischerqueen: Heh thanks <Niels> I'm so proud of myself for making the attack work even though I found out after he coulda stopped it before it started with <Ne5!>

jessicafischerqueen: Dang it of course that's <22...Bxd4> he played.

yet another notation error!

DOH

Dec-02-07  achieve: <Jess> Just as I was waiting for your AROOO you posted the yell!

LOL

You go girl; surf the excitement of a succesful hack attack!

Why not? I mean, COME OON!!!

Dec-02-07  Eyal: Hoo Hee

Very nice tactics in the end! (Morphy might have played 22.Rg1+ instead of Qxf3, with mate on the spot, but let's not be petty...). And you're absolutely right about 18...Ne5 being a winning move for Black, which he missed. Btw, 18...Qh3 (19.Rg3 Qf5) would also be good enough, since the black queen isn't exposed there as it is after Qxf3, which was the fatal mistake; but that's a kind of position which is quite uncomfortable to play as Black otb, even if the engine tells you it's +2 for him. And naturally there were several points before that where the crabby person could have made his game more comfortable (such as playing Qg4 on moves 12 or 13 and forcing the exchange of queens, or 15...Nbd7 followed by 0-0-0 instead of 0-0), but then where would all the fun be?

Are you still wearing the pig hat?

PS it seems that someone took your advice and opened his own forum (Stonehenge chessforum)

jessicafischerqueen: Hi <Capin>!! Thanks for looking at the games and giving me some analysis to look at.

Heh he was uncomfortable all right he kept yelling at me in the box.

Yes, i wore the pig hat out to a chicken restaurant tonight. I'm the only one in town who owns one!!

I didn't wear it while I played though, but I was tempted. It's so warm it would have made my head too hot.

I'm off to visit <Stony> now!!

hoooo wee whaka!

Stonehenge: Very amusing game! I enjoyed it, always nice to crush your opponent with some tactics. :) But it was his own fault, he shouldn't have yelled at you. What did he say, was it NI?

  Domdaniel: <Who knew?>

Not Canada pig.

Heh.

Acksherly, "Not Canada Pig" would be a cool title for the book you'll write about your adventures.

Dec-02-07  Eyal: A pig is an animal with dirt on his face
his shoes are a terrible disgrace
He has no manners when he eats his food
He's fat and lazy and extremely rude
But if you don't care a feather or a fig
you may grow up to be a pig...

Dec-02-07  WBP: <Jess> <i wore the pig hat out to a chicken restaurant> Is that a cowardly restaurant? Actually, your line reminds me of an old NY Post headline: "Headless Body Found in Topless Bar!"

Hey, many thanks for the note in my house regarding ABSMs, plaster casts, and what not. A small brouhaha about going on over at Cryptomundo.com right now (Loren Coleman thinks the casts are copies of other prints from somewhere else). I even got my 2 cents worth in.

Great, great attacking game! How intensely satisfying it is to launch an all-outer with a move like 19 Rxg7+.

(What kind of trash was this guy talking,

And when did he realize his goose--or chicken, (or pig)--was cooked,

and stop his squawking?)

jessicafischerqueen: Hi <stony dom bill and eyal>!!

Hoo wicca!!

Thanks mates. You'll be pleased to know that my Mom's credit card worked and when I get home from work today I can register my <Shredder 3> with FULL OPERATIONAL FEATURES.

What those features are, exactly, I couldn't say, but I know one of them is that I can put <PIG> games in and save variations etc. just like <Kasparov> on his computer except I can't play chess like him and I don't remember things really.

I wonder what other "features" I get?

They better be good!! It cost my Moms 30 bucks. It's my <Christmas present>.

Heh I can't wait to open it up at home (I just activate it off the Net) and find out the secret features.

Dec-02-07  Boomie: Headlines read: Canadian Morphette Brings Home Bacon.

If you had your piggy on, you wouldn't have missed Ne5.

Kudos and Aroodos.

jessicafischerqueen: Heh still laughing here that's a <mighty fine pig hat> all right!!

Mine doesn't have the wings though.

Mine bigger and fluffier. In fact, its actually an excellent winter hat- super warm.

I wore it at school all day today.

i hope I don't get fired.

Some are prejudiced against pigs.

They are called <antiSwinities>.

Domdaniel: <Boomie> Our Jess a Morphette? More of a <Tallulah>, surely, Shirley ...

Like in that well-known Canadian song, Tallulah:

"Your move was strong but you needed proof
You saw her castling on the roof
Her beauty and her g-pawn overthrew ya
There's a blaze of light in every pawn
Such games will never wind up drawn
When played by Jess, Canadian Tallulah..."

Dec-03-07  NakoSonorense: Hi there.

How's Korea today?

Are you taking a shot at the "Holiday Present Hunt"? It's so much fun. Feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Well, it's almost Christmas and I'm almost a kid, so I don't know.

Korea's school year ends in December, right? You hopping back to Good Ol' Canada for the holidays?

By the way, how come you're not allowed to have mortal enemies no more? And what happened to your <"BATCHIMEG"> at the movies?

Finally, how the hell are you?

Dec-03-07  chessmoron: <You hopping back to Good Ol' Canada for the holidays?> She betrayed Canada long ago and look what she did to become Asian-looking. She dyed her skin yellow.
Dec-03-07  NakoSonorense: <She dyed her skin yellow.> How do you do that? With rice extract?
Dec-04-07  Boomie: <She betrayed Canada long ago and look what she did to become Asian-looking. She dyed her skin yellow.>

No way, Jose. She's true like ice, like fire. It's that leopard-skin pig box hat bleeding color.
