  jessicafischerqueen: Good Evening.

Hi <branko> thanks for the "heads up."

I read the whole thread-- interesting study in "internet discussion psychology" to be sure...

I didn't find anything particularly offensive there.

<Women don't like chess> was said. Well, some do. I'm a woman and I like chess. So there's one. <Deffi> likes chess. There's two.

and BATCHIMEG TUVSHINTUGS!! heh

You should see them go at each other in the <Carlsen> forum these days.

Same old same old.

Hi <Dr. Euwe>!! You'll be pleased to know I own a "hand bag" but I almost never use it cuz I wear jeans or slacks to work. They got pokkits.

Sometimes I wear my "hand gun" though.

Just in case.

Hey! Was that <Dr. Euwe> or <Secretary Lars> who made that last post??

Mar-13-08  achieve: I'm puzzled as well...

I blame societé.

Lars can really be a pest sometimes, but (he) is becoming an uncle now so I should cut him some slack.

Please extend my congratulations to <Lars>!

As an <Ant> myself, I can tell him it's a lot of fun.

BTW I'm sticking with it. I've dragged myself up from a <1000> rating on <chessmaster> and I'm now a <TOWERING 1169>!!

Them fake humans better watch out-- One more up the ladder and I'll be playing the <1400> rated fake humans...

It's only confidence...

Hi <Pianoplayer> yes, I know.

If you look carefully at the top of my profile you will see that the first part is an <epitaph> I made for him.

It's because he died that I made my Profile a center to honor and share <Bobby Fischer> with others.

he was my favorite chess player, and the reason I started playing chess in the first place.

Best regards to you,
Jess

Btw, doesn't CG.com observe some sort of a "Statute of Limitations" regarding Your not being allowed to quarrel and fight? You must be itchy like hell :-)

Mar-13-08  malthrope: Hi Jess! :)

<brankat: <jessicafischerqueen> For Your B.Fischer collection:>

http://www.thevillager.com/villager...

A wonderful post "Cavett and chess buffs replay Bobby Fischer’s story" by Caroline N. Jackson in 'The Villager' (Volume 77 / Number 41 - March 12 - 18, 2008). ;)

Thanks for sharing <brankat>! :)

I, like many others, was very moved when Cavett's 'NYT Blog' tribute post to Bobby first came out...

"Was It Only a Game?" - February 8, 2008... // http://cavett.blogs.nytimes.com/200...

As well as his (Cavett's) follow-up to his original Blog post to acknowledge the incrediable feedback that he had received...

"Bobby and You" - February 22, 2008... // http://cavett.blogs.nytimes.com/200...

The word <touching> here is an understatement! ;)

If I can just draw but a small portion of Cavett's innermost feelings when I write and construct, "My Day with Bobby" - I shall be very pleased indeed! :-)

I've already constructed an overall plan... First write all the facts down as I vividly remember them. Second to recheck my facts on items that can be verified (times, dates, places and miscellaneous, etc.). Third to weave the story in the way I wish to tell it (as it includes many flashbacks preceding my adventures to travel to Santa Monica in 1966 to meet and see Bobby, as well as the internal flashbacks within the main story structure itself). Fourth - the first 'Rough Draft' followed by my usual <polishing> - ad infinitum... Last but not least, the best pics I can find or have already found to enhance, 'My Day with Bobby!' ;)

Rest assured Jess - when the 'polishing phase' commences... I'll send you a draft copy labeled <For Your Eyes Only> - a promise is a <promise>! :^)

My Best Always, - Mal
