Your "there are children about" sparked a musical memory. I love Wainwright. Funny and a bit creepy.

Hi <Niels the posting while I'm putting a FEN in the Woodman's forum Friendly Accurate Analysis Elephant>!!

I look forward to your EMU--

heh I just booted a move in one of my Correspondence games and I've decided to make an EXECUTIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL DECISION to not let it bum me out.

It's Friday night and tomorrow I have time to indulge in some CHESSITY FUN against human <Yahoos>.

I will be studying some chess tonight... light study, however.

Watching a few Chess vids and reading a bit of chess history.

Tomorrow, the Wars....

jessicafischerqueen: OH MY STARS DOES IT EVER GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS???

Heh-- I just checked my Correspondence game this second and he DID NOT NOTICE MY BLUNDER EITHER.

whee--

He has not punished me for my mistake and my position is perfectly fine at the moment. NO thanks to me of course, but hey- we both missed it.

Whogga!

Thazz right... It's a bumpy road anyway, so why not enjoy the few humps and bumps along the way?

You tell me...

I'll be trying to get the EMU locked and loaded before your Midnight, but I see you have some "light study--->entertainment" lined uppleready...

I'll be having a look over at your work over at wood's place...

heh

change of plans-- my opponent not only failed to see my blunder, he has made a suspect move IMO and now I think some HARD CHESS STUDY IN ORDER coming up with my next move in that correspondence game...

Sometimes he moves right after I do, and sometimes he takes days to move...

HUMPS AND BUMPS weekend...

Hmm.. sounds more exciting than playing chess on the Internet but Hey I'm not complaining.

I love chess.

jessicafischerqueen: Hi Ho <Friendly Blue Elephant>!!

heh I just re-read the EMU I sent you and realized who my "new friend" must be.

Sad, but actually (for him) very Good news there...

He took to following me around inside the school all the time so the Principal asked the cleaning lady to "take care of it."

Luckily, this did not entail my "new friend" being served up for somebody's dinner.

Instead, the Cleaning lady has taken him home to be her new pet.

This is very good news for him-- as he was homeless in a country where people enjoy eating his kind...

But sad for me I won't see him any more.

That's Life!!

Sep-26-08  achieve: I beat Rybka from your FEN!!, Mrs., but it was a SHTRUGGLE... Be prepared...

So that's more good news re the little fella under the cleaning lady's wing now.

If you go and visit her you van see him again!

I'm late... gotta run now.

(But for ...)

Sep-26-08  Trigonometrist: HI <jess>!!!

<JFQ> I just replied to your post in my forum and I said this might happen! and then I click into your forum and find out it did!! SPOOKY!

mrsalekhine (me) -1878 v. lpz999- 1753

OK I've just run my <Shredder> over this game and for once it didn't tell me how retarded I am, or how retarded my opponent was.

According to the <machine>, no blunders were played from the opening to the Middle game.

I'll go straight to the <critical position>--

White to move:

click for larger view

This is far from "won" for white, of course-- but I was happy with this position.

From a purely positional standpoint, White has more space, an extra center pawn, more active pieces, and my King is "safe as houses." White has no real weaknesses at this moment.

From a tactical standpoint, however, I had been angling for something like this for the previous five moves--- hoping to get the chance to advance my e- and f- pawns and start crushing him in the center.

But from this position I found a tactic that releases the tension and gives White a very good game with real advantage-- not won, but certainly a game White SHOULD win...

<Shredder> says this is not my strongest move here but I don't care:

I played

20.Nf5!

heh

I believe this either forces Black to trade his Queen for two Rooks with advantage to White-- or to let me shatter his Kingside pawn structure with advantage to White--

But even better, he underestimated the danger of my Rook being <LINED UP> with his Queen on the e-file, and he dropped a piece, and the game with

20...Bxf5
21.exf5 Ne5?

which loses to

22.f4

Now Black loses a piece by force whether or not he elects to trade his Queen for my Rook pair.

He resigned a few moves later--

Position after <22.f4>
