I have updated my Profile which now contains many YouTube video analyses of <<<Bobby Fischer>>> games- Including 3 from Reyjavik 72, all 11 games from the 1963 US Championship, The Game of the Century, and 2 games with Mikhail Tal> I have been re-inspired to make my Profile a better <Fischer resource> by the "fresh blood" of <KlangenFarben>. May his <Klangen> continue to <Farben>. Mrs. De Groot

| Oct-12-08 | | Woody Wood Pusher: Yes it is a pity so few women actually go to chess clubs, I know it is a male dominated game but even in this case the actual representation at club level has always been very low in my experience. I mean, the ratio of men: women who play online is much better than in the average chess-club I am sure. Then again, the opposite could be said of dancing clubs...I learned to dance in a great club and men were always in short supply. I never had to sit out of a tango or salsa for want of a partner. |

| Oct-12-08 | | achieve: <Mrs Elephant> Pleasure to meet you! <Why don't more women play chess?> Allow me a feeble attempt: They wanna keep the board nice and tidy, not "mess it up" by making moves on it and greasing every piece they touch. Since guys don't clean up after them, the woman feels obliged to do so, and at the end of the day feels like nothing more but a housekeeper... THAT's RIGHT!!
heh
It's all about priorties and setting the pre-game conditions, and make sure they're stuck by... One would think Chess is for tomboys, yet Miss Kosteniuk looks anything but... But in fairness, it's "mothers", that do not like chess, since it can lead to disputes among family members, within the home, and as we all know, it's all about keeping the p-p-ppeace on home t-t-turf. (Hey Jess, It's so darn early here I'm starting to stutter!} |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hello <Elephant>!! I hope you weren't frightened by <Woodman's> posts about the "Elephant's Graveyard.." WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Heh you remind me of the many essays <JH Donner> wrote about why women are bad chessplayers. Thing is, as time went on he stuck to his guns but not really-- he started being more ironic as he realized that many women <can> become strong chess players. Forget the Mother-- Just get the Father to force his 3 daughters to play and study chess in a box for 20 years. It did wonders for <Judit Pole Cat>!! BTW, I think <Judit Pole Cat> should challenge <AK 47> to a match. It would garner a lot of publicity I think--
given that <Pole Cat> is obviously the greatest woman chessplayer in history, and that <AK 47> currently holds the <triple title> in Women's Chess (Classical, Fischerrandom, and Rapid titles are all hers at the moment). |

| Oct-12-08 | | achieve: <Thing is, as time went on he stuck to his guns but not really-- he started being more ironic as he realized that many women <can> become strong chess players.> When reading Donner's columns and essays one has to expect irony with him, BY DEFAULT-- even the ones close to him were guessing more often than not... He was also testing the intelligence and reading comprehension of his "audience", while sharpening his own... But even Jan Hein eventually had to acknowledge "hard evidence." Bit speculative on my part, but I'm sticking by it, nevertheless. Judit, ahh, she was the Golden Girl of Chess, for me... Really admired her, as prolly the only woman to make it to the elite of Top Male Competitive Sport. I'd love to see Judit and Alexandra play it out.
<Mother's and Father's [if around] attitude towards girls and engaging in specific sports> is probably the main determinant, in my view. In Muslim countries we have some other overriding determining factors. It's all right there in the melting pot, together with all them genes, and such. |

| Oct-12-08 | | achieve: <Jess> Do you know about MAMA POLE CAT's role in the entire ecucation plan, for her daughters? Maybe I'm missing some important info, or I forgot, temporarily (shudder)... No Geurgling? |

| Oct-12-08 | | achieve: <Jess> Yes, your profile looks more stunning with each day (no kidding) Check out this wonderful link/website, with an article on a major Chess extravaganza involving the Polgar Sisters Act, October 22nd --- http://latestchess.com/showNews.php... "Judit, who lives in Hungary, Zsuzsa, who will come from Texas and Zsófi, who lives in Canada will play simultaneously against opponents on 45 boards (15 boards each) and new players will start after each game is finished. This way, according to the plans more than a hundred players will have the chance to play in the simultaneous games. There is an enormous interest for the event. There are already more than two hundred entrants. One thing is sure: young talents, professional chess players, actors and journalists will sit at the tables." WOW!!!

Fischer Postmester
to get an uneven 5-part life-of-Fischer doc (of UK origin? I don't recognize the logo at the top left) made shortly after his release from Japan but before his passing. There's some flat-out nonsense in the script and by a few interview subjects, but there's also some required-viewing scenes. However, I have yet to go through your collection above, so it may be redundant. I'm also amazed that, in regards to the 1992 match, no mention is made that Spassky violated the same sanctions that Fischer did, but Spassky's government chose not to take action against him. |

| Oct-12-08 | | achieve: <Tal footage is heart warming and heart breaking...> That's very true, <Jess> -- I feel exactly the same way, especially with that type nostalgic music and photos. The Mighty Tal, Genius with a capital G, yet so incredibly warm and human, almost like family... Well he is, after all. EMU landed in your nest. I'll be in touch soon. |

I'ld rather let my freak flag fly, but that would probably inspire Branco and the other blasted hippies to come stage a love-in at my forum ;-) I don't need no group hugs except from pawns, my lovely pawns... |

| Oct-12-08 | | hms123: <jess> Do they celebrate Columbus Day over there? It is very confusing because it used to be October 12 but now it's the second Monday in October--which is good because that's when the stores hold their Columbus Day sales. Of course the stores no longer take cash or credit--you have to carry in baskets of pumpkins instead. I think they also take dried persimmons...but I don't know why. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <blasted hippies>
One is reminded of the fine <South Park> episode in which Cartman convinces the town to build a <giant earth boring machine> in order to plow through a crowd of Hippies at a festival in order to reach the stage and disperse them via the playing of a Death Metal CD... In the end, Cartman is successful in eliminating the "hippie infestation" of South Park. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Heh check out this <English> Demolition job over Anand by Kramnik-- Kramnik vs Anand, 1994
Beautiful positinal Knight sacrifice with the understanding that keeping the Black King in the center, and establishing a phalanx of connected passed pawns on the Queenside will be more than adequate compensation for the lost steed. Also, note the date (1994)-- These Titans were only 8 years old when this game was played~! |
