jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

  jessicafischerqueen: Heh....

Klunken..

The Frog has turned...

Oct-19-08  achieve: Isn't <Kim Klunken> center forward with the Milwaucky Bucks?

Mr. NBA Buff But A Bit Hazy On The Details

Oct-19-08  hms123: Did <froggie> go a courtin'?
Oct-19-08  hms123: <niels> Short's comment was priceless--and right on. thanks for pointing me in that direction.
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> check out the video of Anand and Kramnik being interviewed after game 3

http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...

Anand's expression when Kramnik claims his position was better and he was fighting to convert the advantage is so funny! A classic 'What the hell!?...Whatever!' moment.

(I was lucky enough to watch it on a friend's computer, I also checked out your shoe eating video, v. funny. I did a quick search for the Laurel and Hardy equivalent but couldn't find it.)

Oct-19-08  SeeSee: Someone ate a shoe? I should think that very rash. There are other things to eat. Although you could pretend that the laces were a new and exciting kind of linguini...and perhaps one could imagine the heelto be the ribeye at Dennys.

I ate a bug once.

It was in a hotel in Moscow. I don't theink the KGB was pleased.

Oct-19-08  WBP: Hello <Jess>!!
I've been away for awhile. Man, have things changed--all these new forum banners, forum names, intertextuality, post-modern razz-matazz. It's like going from watching old Julia Child black and white PBS shows to the latest Iron Chef. In that case, I'll be Iron Chef Northern Illinois. One just can't find enough good northern Illinois cuisine these days.

David Foster Wallace. R.I.P. I saw him once at a reading (with Richard Powers). He was absolutely hilarious.

I am rooting for Vishy.

Vishy! Vishy! Vishy! (Vishy! Veshy! Vushy! ["I came! I saw! I defeated"])

Bill of Attainder

P.S. I forgot--gotta post the solution to the puzzle I put up here a week or so back. <Niels> must be pretty angry with me for the delay!

Oct-19-08  achieve: <Bill> Me hard to find get angry on you.

SO WHERE THE HECK

heh - I still roughly know the position from memory, I think...

Oct-19-08  FroggieFarben: Hey! I resemble that remark!
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> What I don't understand is people who put others on their ignore list for making off-topic conversation, and then proceed to talk about nothing else but who is on it and why and how good their lives are now.

I just looked in on the Anand-Kramnik World Championship Match (2008)

page and I am being ignored by people I have never even spoken to...and they are posting about it?

You seem to be a favourite topic of discussion on that page as well btw.

These people seem so angry and frustrated all the time, they should really just chill out a bit....maybe they will even see the funny side of Drawnik then hehehe

Oct-19-08  Red October: <It was in a hotel in Moscow. I don't theink the KGB was pleased> the hotel called they want their towels and soaps back
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <the hotel called they want their towels and soaps back>

That bar of soap was actually a hidden camera, and after seeing your technique for stealing it in full Soviet Technicolor the KGB are interested in hiring you. Just wipe it off before you bring it back.

Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: Is it true that Kramnik-Anand game 5 has already started in your time-zone <JFQ>?

Who's winning?

Oct-19-08  Red October: it was a 32 move <DRAW> :)
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <it was a 32 move <DRAW> :)>

DAM that Drawnik! When will he learn, when Anand is +3?

Oct-19-08  chessmoron: Send you a EMU. Jess.
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> I'm not having much luck with the puzzles this week, <hms> did some brilliant analysis for me yesterday and I feel guilty about asking him again...

so since you are also equipped with the latest in chess technology, would you be able to run this position for me and show me if white actually has enough to win?

White to play

Oct-19-08  hms123: <woody> check your forum for some analysis--hms
Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> don't worry about the analysis, <hms> kindly obliged me again and I am satisfied all the position's secrets have been revealed...muhahaha

are you going to stay-up late for game 5?

p.s. I like your new banner, very dignified indeed.

Oct-19-08  Woody Wood Pusher: I just saw your post to <dannyboy> in the Kramnik-Anand thread, he seems quite an angry and negative person and I'm glad to see you are not taking his bait. It's a shame though, he is quite enthusiastic about the chess when he gets round to talking about it.

I see you haven't visited my Palace of Righteous Justice in a while either, and I just imported some more, even comfier, slaves to sit on as well.

Pull one up by the leash and take a read of some of the interesting analysis <hms> has done, I didn't realize he knew his way around Fritz so well...

Oct-19-08  hms123: <woody> I have hidden depths--usally around 20-ply--hms
Oct-19-08  Mrs. Alekhine: Please help me welcome the return of <FroggyFarben>, the nephew of a couple of uncles we love so well...

Long may his Klunken continue to Froggen, in glorious Farben.

Oct-19-08  Mrs. Alekhine: <I have hidden depths-->

Heh

Oct-19-08  Mrs. Alekhine: <he seems quite an angry and negative person and I'm glad to see you are not taking his bait.>

This, of course, is what happens when people don't pay attention to <The Way of the Wood> in their posting styles.
