jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Nov-14-08  malthrope: <jessicafischerqueen: Hang on Qg5 is check <Mal> so you are forced to take his queen->

If only we didn't have a pawn of the square 'f2' It still might work then after 3... Qxg5 <Check> then 4. Qxg5 and now no 4...gxf!! ~lol~ Still brutal though...

Yep, I think we all learned a lesson! <grin>

  jessicafischerqueen: <Mal> heh...

Chess is endless lessons...

<Marcel Duchamp> said that

"Chess is a school of silence."

But I think we four just proved that

<CHESS CAN ALSO BE A SCHOOL OF FOUR GOOD FRIENDS ANALYZING TOGETHER AT TOP SPEED AND YELLING AT EACH OTHER AND CALLING OUT MOVES AND KNOCKING ALL THE PIECES OVER> as well...

There's more than one way to learn chess lessons.

I can never figure out if I'm supposed to be the <Gnat drinking> or the <Elephant bathing>.

We should ask <Niels>.

As an actual Elephant, he may be an expert...

Nov-14-08  achieve: wheee - the four of us filled well over a <page>...

<Jess: Chess takes Time> Same here. I can not play faster than 20 mins without increment, I have found... And I DO NOT WANT to play any faster; simply just because, as it only serves a stupid addiction to time, and takes away from the quality IMO - but it's a debatable issue, in which I do not take part, if possible.

Classical Chess and Blitz are just two separate, yet distantly related, games.

Nov-14-08  malthrope: <achieve: <Mal> heh -- Ng5-elegance refuted by brute force!>

Yep! Brute force got me in the end! ~lol~ I just overlooked after 1... fxg3 that the c1-h6 diagional is now open... Such is chess as I was only looking for elegance! ;)

jessicafischerqueen: Heh I was half asleep and now I'm wide awake..

Thank goodness for chess friends.

I only wish we all could have been in the same HOtel room knocking the pieces around...

Then <Bobby Fischer> could come in and say

"You people spent an hour on THAT???"

heh...

Then we could all go out bowling.

sigh

Nov-14-08  achieve: heh - I'm jinxed out!

Or out-jinxed...

It was fun communing here from all continents in REAL TIME!!

Nov-14-08  malthrope: <jessicafischerqueen: <Mal> heh...

Chess is endless lessons...

<Marcel Duchamp> said that

"Chess is a school of silence.">

Great quote by <Duchamp> Jess. :)) I'd never heard that one before. Yeah, we did knock over some pieces! Mine are still on the floor! ~lol~

Nov-14-08  achieve: <Jess> I went out bowling with a bunch a few weeks ago - BUT THEY WERE ALL IN MY TIMEZONE

heh - needless to say I won by a landslide - as they were not my "friends"

I think...

jessicafischerqueen: <from all continents in REAL TIME!! >

You said it <Elephant>!

You in Europe, Mal in North America, me in Asia, and Eyal, of course, in Africa covered <all four> of the World's Continents!!

What a great session. My fingers are breathless.

Nov-14-08  malthrope: You said it all Jess...

<You in Europe, Mal in North America, me in Asia, and Eyal, of course, in Africa covered <all four> of the World's Continents!!

Other than my <sheepish grin> exposed I'm all s-m-i-l-e-s here! ;)

Nov-14-08  malthrope: <achieve: [...] It was fun communing here from all continents in REAL TIME!!>

And, no engines running anywhere to be found except the synapses sparkling and firing in our minds! ;)

Nov-14-08  achieve: Ermmm - are we "webcam-ready"?

Or did we just prove we don't need any?

I go for the 2nd option.

Nov-14-08  malthrope: HaHaHa! Niels - I'm a mess so I'll pass... ~lol~ Option Number #2 must be right! ;)
Nov-14-08  achieve: <Mal> heh - though I find it very nice to have seen a few photos of you!

jessicafischerqueen: HEH- I was soo sure that guy in the gallery in <Iceland> was <Mal>--

So was <technical draw>...

<Mal> you have to admit it was a striking resemblance.

From the <saddest Bobby fiscer video> in my Profile...

Possible identical twin you don't know about?

Maybe you should look in to it...

Nov-14-08  malthrope: Jess - I remember once on a trip my parents took me on that I ran into a kid that confused me for someone else... So, it appears I have at least one look alike out there! ;)
Nov-14-08  malthrope: Niels - most of the photo's I have are old... I'll post some in my chessforum later so you can see some. In fact, I even have baby pictures and all my school pics as well! ~lol~ It's a miracle those survived! ;)
Nov-14-08  achieve: Of CG members Only Branko has seen a few photos of me in my prime... At least that's what he thinks, heh.

I assume no pictures of my Seoul trip circulate on the NET...

jessicafischerqueen: I found a picture of you on the NET where your friends found you asleep and put socks on your hands and carrots in your ears and then posted it on <youtube>.

Nov-14-08  achieve: <Mal> Can't wait! heh -- you, of course, have that magic scanner thing... I think some fancy printers can scan too... Then I will send you a few of mine, via email ;)

BTW - I recently put up my Seoul Gold Medal for interested onlookers... I should take a pic from it and send it, too...

Nov-14-08  malthrope: HaHaHa! ;) Jess set a Yu-tubie trap and we both fell right into it! ~lol~
Nov-14-08  malthrope: It's an old scanner but still... It's better than nothing! :))
Nov-14-08  achieve: <jessicafischerqueen: I found a picture of you on the NET where your friends found you asleep and put socks on your hands and carrots in your ears and then posted it on <youtube>.> HEY!! YOU!!

WATCH IT!!

An ounce of respect would be nice - I'm not a CIRCUS ACT!!

Nov-14-08  achieve: <Mal> Do NOT fall for Jess and her phony URLs -- that's her "specialty" -- I know this for a while now...
