Dec-24-08  malthrope: True but still <WannaBe> has 3 votes and both <brankat> and <hms123> share the next spot with 2 & 1/4 votes each... :)
Dec-24-08  achieve: <Mal> - no offence - but Please stop the counting--- as Jess said Wannabee is fed up with the whole thing and rightly so...

It's supposed to be a fun way for people to show their appreciation for fellow kibitzers, which has been done now, everybody can be merry, and enter the holiday celebrations...

These recounts drive me up the wall by now.

Dec-24-08  malthrope: Niels - done.

Happy Holiday's!

Dec-24-08  achieve: BINGO!

You too, Mal!!

Sorry for the tone...

<AD FESTIVUS>!!

heh

jessicafischerqueen: But what about the <Festivus "Feats of Strength"?>
Dec-24-08  achieve: Can I win a prize?

I'm gonna spend a large sum shortly, on food and delicacies!! (is that a word in English? - for the stuff you can get in a "deli-shop" - like special cheeses etc...)

WHOOOOOOHWAA!!

jessicafischerqueen: Yes, "spend" is in fact a word in English.

The most direct tranlsation to <Dutch> would be "Gouda," I believe, but I'm not certain.

Unfortunately there are no prizes for the Festivus "Feats of Strength"...

For a full account, see the <festivus rules> link I left in <Eyal> forum..

Oh and don't forget- after you get them delicacies, <Edam> up...

HAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHA

Dec-24-08  achieve: I haven't <Edam up> yet - but it won't be for long....

But for

(Brilliant pun I must say)

I'll check out the <Festivus rules> when I get the chance...

WILL I get that chance??

Or should I just.......GRAB IT!!!

Dec-24-08  hms123: <jess>

I wish to thank all of those who need help to count on their fingers for re-calculating the massive vote count so many times that no one really knows who won or if the awards still exist.

I think we should all vote for <Wannabe> as <most beleaguered kibbitzer>. The voting booth seems to have disappeared, though.

jessicafischerqueen: Heh- it's ok <H a Mundo>... He just got a little overwhelmed and swamped there and who needs it on Christmas Eve.

You'll notice in <Kibutzer Kafe> that he asked for suggestions on how to make the process more orderly next year. I had three suggestions, but I thought it meet to hold off for a bit:

1. Ban me from the competition
2. Ban <Technical Draw> from the competition

3. Time the awards so the organizer doesn't have to count votes on Christmas Eve

heh

I'd also advise printing all the rules, dates and deadlines in a Profile-- then posting them <in toto> in Kibbutzer Kafe throughout the competition.

As you'll notice from my posts at <MannBee>, I'd be delighted to run the Caissars next year, but that's up to <MannBee> since he currently holds the flame.

He actually won <most helpful>, which is a little ironic since he was so harried he didn't count the vote for that category right--

He also won <most helpful> last year, for obvious reasons.

I tried to "put the brakes on " right after I saw how testy he was after tallying the ballots...

I think he had family obligations and such and the last thing he wanted to do was count votes amid a flurry of insane posts written by people with a "lot of time on their hands..."

heh

At any rate, I'm sure he'll be in a better mood after he opens all his presents tomorrow.

The <Caissars> will always exist. Because, as <Niels> says, it's a time for competitive fun, for friends to show how much they value each other, and new important things are learned each year-- notably, in this year's event, the brilliant games collections of <KingG>, which I was very happy to learn about.

I put them in my Profile in fact.

I'm not sure, but I believe the last organizer asked <MannBee> to do it last year-- or maybe it was <CG.com>...

But I'd really have fun running it.

I certainly have fun ruining it every year.

HAHAHAAHAHAAH

Well I can't help it. I get even sillier as Holidays approach...

It's been great fun having a <serious legal battle> with you and your people as well.

Although I do appreciate you turning your team of lawyers to my cause today.

In gratitude, I will suspend <suing you> until after <Nude Deer>.

Regards,
CC

Dec-24-08  Eyal: <Jess> Well, congrats anyway for being the winner the funniest category according to the true count...

I'm digging in to the link now..

Happy Festivus!!

Have you managed to wrestle your father to the floor yet?

Dec-24-08  Woody Wood Pusher: I can't believe you didn't win <funniest> <JFQ>!

This is an outrage!

I vote we vote you to run the awards next year!

haha

I just looked through the last few pages in the MannBee forum...I can see why he was about to fall off the edge of sanity!

hehe

Only a fool or a madman would give himself that work on Christmas Eve!

Ho ho ho

Dec-24-08  hoodrobin: Happy Festivals to you, kind <jessicafischertim>

Ebenezer Scrooge

Dec-24-08  Ragh: <Jess> Merry Christmas to you too!

Hearty congratulations on capturing the <Funniest Kibitzer> Caissar award, which you were rightfully worthy of winning this year - I mean, 18000 puns of entertainment and no Oscar prize, come on!! ;).

Well seriously, I nominated and voted for you because I thought no one, including TD, topped you in terms of being the funniest kibitzer on the site this year.

The incumbent humor hero TD had his share of being CG's comedy king until this year, but 2009 is the year of the Queen. heh, no wonder it was a neck-to-neck fight with a record polling registered for this last and most prestigious category prize distributed this year. Isn't that the norm to distribute the most coveted oscar at the end of ceremony, anyway.

May god bless you to continue your reign with the help of your comic sense and win friends and influence people. Wait a minute, is the last sentence a popular book title by Dale Carnegie :)

Dec-24-08  technical draw: Hello, all. Just TD here making a surprise visit to the Queen. Hmmm, I think I'll be taking notes here.

<Ragh> My good friend, nice to see you here.

<Woody Wood Pusher> (the outraged), Hi pal, what's up?

<Eyal>, <the true mathematician> How are you doing, buddy? Nice to see you here.

<hms, et al> Great to see you, Merry Christmas to all. Have a Happy one!

Dec-24-08  malthrope: Some very wise words written there Jess. :) Kudos to your sanity and 'Squabmus' constitution. Mere words simply defy description! ;)

For what it's worth I just posted this in my Profile (in <Special Thanks>)...

<"Perhaps next year it can be worked out that this contest does not coincide with the 'Great <CG.com> Christmas Present Hunt'. Not to mention the insanity of counting and tallying the last two caterpillar votes on Dec 24th. Only Santa should have to work that hard on the day before Christmas! ~lol~

Our hats off to <WannaBe> for moderating this thankless job two years in a row. :))">

Next year December 1st falls on a Tuesday... Starting the Caissar Awards contest early in December, say no later than Dec 4th (the Friday). Then running nominations for one week with the caterpillar votes taking place in tandem pairs one day at time. Should do it! ;)

Happy Festivus Holiday's everyone! :^)

Dec-24-08  brankat: Wishing You a very Merry Christmas!

Chess vacation...

Dec-26-08  rogge: <I hope you had a great holiday <rogge>!>

Thanks. Still trying to digest it all :)

I wish you a happy new year!

Dec-26-08  hoodrobin: Hey <jess> do you like Cognac? Or do you prefer Bourbon? Or Barbour perhaps? Or Champagne as <hms123> (our Forarum Ordinator Maximus) does (I'm sure)?

I like them all, but cannot use of them for sanitary reasons. I prefer the Scotch though.

And what from a geographical point of view?

BTW I wish you a happy century ahead.

Yours

Cheddar Eatwell
