What a great idea- history of <Danish Chess>.

Also, that picture is so beautiful-- Bobby and Jens Enevoldsen laughing and smiling together....

Captures the warm side of Bobby Fischer.

Thanks- yes not only did I see that game, I unfortunately tried to solve it.

Did you get the solution? I mean a variation that is forcing all the way to the end?

Ok after I looked at the game I spent a long time putting and checking moves into my computer and I STILL couldn't make sense of all the possibilities.

However, did you see the great post by <An Englishman>?

"Simple- you just interfere with the second rank, and the rest takes care of itself"..

Heh-- I almost busted a gut. He is a master of irony, as most Englishmen appear to be.

Thanks Jess! <sheepish grin> ~lol~

Feb-16-09  everyone else: <malthrope> don't thank her!! The chattering busybody.

I'm the one pulling the strings around here.

Feb-16-09  everyone else: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/a...

Put this in your Profile, you meddling old fool!!!

We've had enough of your bragging and whining about your chess games, I'll tell you.

Feb-16-09  everyone else: <JFQ> so you threw a black pawn off your balcony after losing a game of chess and a little Korean kid picked it up, giggled, and ran off with it.

So what???

Maybe you should try not to be such a hothead and you might play better next time.

Now you have to buy yet another chess set, even though you have three still but some of the pieces are missing from all of them!!

You crazy old bat.

Feb-16-09  achieve: <everyone else> Luckily I do not have a balcony with my apartment; but after I have moved this fall the pieces might be flying!!

Mine will likely be picked up by spanish blabbering exchange students.

<JFQ> Heh - I got a great selection of chess books from the Library, tons of material for study at the Center, methinks. Well, discussion, at least. With a nice fire and a good red wine, like Chateauneuf du Paps.

Feb-16-09  hoodrobin: <jess> Many thanks! You are in the family, of course. Also as Batchimeg Tuvshintugs (undercover). So, which move is this please?

  jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> That's excellent news!

Will your new apartment be in the "aritsts chess" district?

I wish I could speak Dutch and live in your neighborhood.

I keep having dreams about leaving Korea.

Stupid languages.... I'm thick as a rock at learning them.

Feb-16-09  achieve: <Jess> THE solution would be (I'm just speculating a bit) for you to move to this complex, which is built to house students and people who work in Holland for short stays, but also a certain percentage of apartments are reserved for Indefinite Contracts, if the situation demends it or people do want to stay at this wonderful location, just outside of the smoke of Amsterdam.

http://www.duwo.nl/?id=1939&parentn...

This is the link that gives you an idea of the location of <Uilenstede> - and the possibilities here... (Bottom half of that page - 1,2 and 3 room apartments etc...)

Actually a Google Earth zoom in will give you a nice view of where I live.

There are plans to take down the part of the complex where I live, in 2012, which is a pity, but I have gotten offers already, to anticipate and move to a more luxurious Atrium building, just across the street here, which would be the right thing to do, as if you wait until the bulldozers arrive, everyone will want to move asap - and the best choice will be fought for, if there are any left...

So I would be wise to anticipate on the situation, and "hand-pick" my moment of moving to an accomodation that suits my wishes and financial possibilities.

We have a very lively Cultural Center here with a theatre that hosts top performers and newcomers, both nationally and internationally.

The story of my visit to a GIANT LIBERRY yesterday, with lots of plusses but a heck of a lot more MINUSSES will have to wait for another time.

I prefer smaller scaled, to put it in a nutshell.

Feb-16-09  achieve: errr... just wondering: is it "pluses and minuses" with just the one 's' in the middle?

Just curious; think I have been spelling it the wrong way for some time now....

Feb-16-09  malthrope: <everyone else: <malthrope> don't thank her!! The chattering busybody.

I'm the one pulling the strings around here.>

Oops! ~lol~

Yes <everyone else> how could I be so positively unthinking and misinformed??

It won't ever happen again! :^)

Yours Truly, - <No Clue> Mal
