 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Sisyphus>
Thanks for the clarifications.
How's the rock going? Up or down?
Have you ever read <Camus'> essay on you where he claims that you are in fact more content than all other people because you <know for sure> what you are supposed to do? IE- you have no existential anxiety, or "anomie"- (literally- "not knowing" what to do)- as Durkheim put it. So is Camus right? Are you happier than me?
I need to know. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Edgar Allen Suenteus Po> Thanks!!!
Are you guys making sure to store your work in another place just in case the server here explodes or something? God forbid, but you know what I mean. |

| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: Good Morning:
<Madly>
<Jeroen Krabbé> Yep - pretty boring topic, even though his brother is <Tim Krabbé> - talented writer and chess analyst. Thanks for the tips; I'm on them. <Steetcar> hehe <Jeroen> played in
- Soldier Of Orange
- Immortal Beloved
- The Living Daylights
- The Discovery of Heaven
Oh - yes and the role of Doctor in <The Fugitive>... just to name a few.
The best thing he ever did was switch to directing IMO with "Left Luggage" - which was very well done. Anyhoo- He should stick to painting and directing, to fulfill his need for broad public recognition, as an artist, but the acting thing was "so so" IMO. Just wondered how he is viewed upon from a "foreign perspective" - is what I was curious about. Mr. Still Curious

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Good evening:
<Outlander News: Entertainment Division> <Krabbay> is viewed primarily as an anonymous "B-movie" guy and nobody knows he is Dutch or even what his name is. I'd like to make a case that he was perfect in the lead role of Paul Verhoeven's best film- by far, IMO- <The Fourth Man>. Due to the fact that this was my first memory of <Krabbay>, I am prejudiced to view him favorably. One could accuse <Gunther Prochnow> of overacting and taking way too many jobs in bad films, but he was perfect as the U-Boat commander in <Das Boot>. Perfect.
I NEED ACCURATE DAMAGE REPORTS |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: <Jess> True, The Fourth Man was excellent, which I left out "mistakenly." He played in both A- and B-movies, for sure, and I am prejudiced because his english accent is so recognizably Dutch-flavored. I could type IMO in every sentence BTW.
(Doh)
But he does play the sneaking villain well, I suppose, in a foreign film. Promising Dutch actresses are <Carice van Houten> and <Halina Reijn>... Carice just teamed up with Tommy Lee Cruise in the film you can't pronounce. FAQ! - I forgot the name... Recently premiered.... |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <El Philmo>
Thanks for the tips-- I will watch FAQ for free tonight. As a new film, it will be easy to find. And you reminded me:
<Unpromising Dutch-Amrerican Psychopaths- Update>: "Manson family murderer and nut bar <Leslie van Houten> remains behind bars." The notorious and the famous....
Mrs. Timman |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: Tep - it is <Valkyrie> - Carice as Nina von Stuffinberg, alongside Tom Cruise. |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <El Philmo- corrections department> Ah OK-
That one's been out for ages on <steal this movie>, but it's still a "CAM copy"-- I will wait a bit for a "SCREENER" to be posted.
A bit strange that there's no SCREENER yet...
Maybe the people in the film were told that "All SCREENER leakers will be shot!!" heh |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: I think I lost you there, for a brief moment.
Until the <Mrs. Timman>, of course. I might go and ask <Dom>, just to (de)bug him! |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: Jinx!
heh
I have seen a SCREENER torrent I believe...
<Woody> thought <Valkyrie> was rubbish - I think he said. |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: You can't lose me- I'm too clear.
<Holland gives- and Holland takes away> It is a complex country.
I'm not an expert on <Holland>, but I did in fact design the <Rotterdam Werken> flood gate. |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Watch out for <Malware> on those torrents. It might give <Malthrope> secret access to your detached hard drive. HAHAHAHAAHA |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: You were right, I was wrong, You were clear.
Am I "in the clear?"?
All (improved) CAM versions as far as the eye can see... admitted. |

|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: Didn't she invent <Ice Hockey>, too? Amaaaaaaaaazing woman.
<Mal> thazz cool - UNTIL he has the software to ... actually ... WATCH IT!! |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | achieve: Thanks for the brief chat, Jess.
I will now reluctantly HAVE to get myself moving; hopefully by doing so I will get to watch some LIVE action this afternoon. Chow |

| Feb-18-09 | | Travis Bickle: Hello Queen Jessica! how are thee? |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Not bad <Travissimo> heckuva game last night eh? I can't wait for ROUND TWO--
BTW I posted a <Dutch Chess mystery> on the Game of the Day page just a second ago-- Take a look--
Something is screwy, details on the page.
Give me your opinion if you get a chance and feel like looking at it. |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | Travis Bickle: Lady Jess heres a groovy oldie for ya!

Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Terrific number thanks <Travis>.... When both <Pete> and <Phil> embarked on their 80s "pop song careers," I much preferred <Pete's> compositions. Because of his voice, mainly- so much power-
My favorite <Pete> solo effort is this song- one of his first, predictably enough- I grew up in the mid-80s early-90s, but I always preferred music from the 60s and early 70s thanks to my big brother indoctrinating me.... This song is about <Pete's> feelings about leaving <Genesis>-- Did you know that one of the nicknames of <Genesis> in the Peter Gabriel era was "That Wonderful Band"??
heh
OK here you go--
This is a very excellent sound quality recording of <Solsbury Hill> from his live show from New York in 1978: no visuals though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MSi... |

| Feb-18-09 | | Thorski: Hey, Jess. Great compilation of Fischer goodies. You're one of the reasons this site is worth paying for. |
|
Feb-18-09
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Thorski> Thanks very much for stopping by!! Well I love <Bobby Fischer> and I started building the web-link Profile on the day he died. Which is kind of sad.
On a more cheery note, however, is your avatar one of those <Handel Mach II Grieg electromagnetic Thingies that is famous in The history of Math and Physics>? It looks very cool if you ask me.
One time in Montreal we got really stoned and watched animated "fractals" on a TV set. So my friends said "they are geometric equations" and I kept saying "What are you talking about- that's a cartoon- I seen plenty of them- cool cartoons though." Ok then! |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | Thorski: My avatar is a Feynman diagram, which is a shorthand notation for particle interactions in time and space invented by my favorite physicist, Richard Feynman. They're useful for visualizing relationships which are otherwise pretty alien to human intuition. My particular diagram is that of radioactive beta decay. I remember feeling genuinely sad when I learned of Fischer's death. I think he's often unfairly criticized for his aberrant public behavior, considering the personal sacrifices he made to popularize chess. |

| Feb-18-09 | | Woody Wood Pusher: When I get back to C.G. today I really want to see a Gata win!! That would be so funny!
hehe |
|
| Feb-18-09 | | madlydeeply: So...having a completely lacking superego I have to wonder what is so offensive about that scene...is it bugs crawling around with an accent? Because Dave Chappell/SNL/MadTV have revisited that exact scene/character a number of times...it refers to a past role in the Black culture that is mocked now...like Mr. Step'n'Fetchit or Vaudville blackface. I think what is offensive about it is it points out to scaredycat Americans ugliness in their culture and ugliness in southern culture. I've made jokes with several black friends over the years and entered that same roll and noone ever challenged me to a fight!! Arright later lady. |
