jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> Here is a <BOC Godzilla> clip where I think the guy just loaded up his ghetto blaster, turned on his TV and then put the webcam on the TV....

heh--

GODZILLA!!

  jessicafischerqueen: <Howard>

AHHHHH good grief man you almost gave me a heart attack....

On the second part- Congratulations!!

That's absolutely fantastic, no???

heh

Very good number. I don't know maths but I can count up to 10.

OUTSTANDING. I think you should announce that you will be taking all the credit for this achievement?

I'm pretty sure you'd be on "terra firma" there...

jessicafischerqueen: <Howard> well we did it again. We spammed your forum, but with a really confusing bit of chess analysis this time.

I'm pretty sure we sorted it out though.

I'm becoming drawn into the games of <Paul Keres>--

in the AVRO ARROW Canadian Fighter Jet Concert of 1938...

Apr-23-09  hms123: <jess> Keres was always one of my favorite players. The analysis was great. I need to get to a different time zone so I can play too.

  jessicafischerqueen: Well <Where's Waldo>?

oops! <Where's Woody>?

Did you know <Big Crawdaddy> gets up half an hour before he goes to bed because his job starts so early in the morning?

Apr-23-09  Benzol: <jess> Regarding the AVRO 1938 tourney you are most welcome. If you are becoming obsessed by Paul Keres another strong tournament which he also jointly won was Game Collection: First Piatigorsky Cup 1963 This tournament seems to be a bit forgotten these days but it was a fairly strong one featuring the then newly crowned World Champion Tigran Petrosian.

Glad you like the collections by <suenteus po 147> and <Phony Benoni> too. Both of them deserve and should get some sort of recognition for the tremendous amount of work they've put in compiling them. Hopefully in time other kibitzers will recognise their work as well.

Cheers

:)

Apr-23-09  Ziggurat: <jess>, can you teach me some <Konglish>? Not that I have any more space left in my brain, as I am learning <Singlish> (although my daughter speaks it much better than I). Singlish is pretty cool. I heard about a Frenchman who has lived in South-East Asia for about 15 years; when asked how many local languages he had learned, he answered: "Well, I can speak fluent Manglish, Tinglish and Singlish".
Apr-23-09  Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen> 2 questions. In King Kong vs Godzilla who do you want to win? Also what the heck is Perry Mason doing in Godzilla? ; P
Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: I remember Keres prepared some incredibly complicated Ruy variation with pawns at e4 d4 and c4 vs pawns at e5 d5 and c5.

maybe Zurich 1953....I had that book once...I'll spend exactly seven minutes on this memory before giving up.

Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: maybe it was this one.

Boleslavsky vs Keres, 1953

thanks for the tunes sweety i guess i'll HAVE to listen to wilco for the first time in YEARS

my buddy I play music with sometimes LOVES wilco.

unfortunately my computer doesn't have sound but I'll borrow somebody's

what is it you like about Keres? I always like new "observational vectors".

Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: Oooh that game has a Reshevsky's double octopus after 26...Nc3!!

jessicafischerqueen: <Keres> plays MANLY CHESS like Bobby and AA Alekhine.

I only like MANLY CHESS except when I"m playing, when I switch to liking WOMANLY CHESS.

  jessicafischerqueen: No sound?

GHOD

<Woody's> computer has no visuals.

If you team up, you guys can have a computer WITH NO SOUND AND NO PICTURES.

(viz- a typewriter)

heh

I already offered to mail <Woody> my old super samsung Notebook.

But maybe I'll cut in in half and mail it to both of you?

I'm just trying to help.

TWO QUESTIONS. ANSWERS- (first draft)

1. The stakes are too high on this one to answer without serious thought

2. To be eaten. heh

Yes I'd be happy to share more- but is it <Konglish> you want, or <Hanglish>?

I'll need to know.

  jessicafischerqueen: <ziggy>

Here's some Konglish I saw yesterday morning in fact-

The sign on the Rollercoaster in Daegu says this:

<Not advise-- heart sick and the pregnant woman>

JHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

Apr-23-09

jessicafischerqueen: And here's some <Hanglish> from me talking to a taxi driver yesterday.

"Ani, ani, velly velly ugly HAHAHAH Hangook saram chal seng gi HAHAHAHA Hangook eun areumdupda, gang, san, soup, Haneul VAncouver same-same Vancouver manny manny Hangook saram doctor laywer sunseng nim HAHAHAHAAH"

And on for 30 minutes.

jessicafischerqueen: Tip- when having an informal "conversation" in Korea, it's <de rigeur> to

1. Wave your hands around a lot
2. Frequently burst into explosive, maniacal laughter

Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: i like WOMANLY chess when its JUDIT playing.

but lately i'm having fun seeing how much abuse a tight formation can take. Not manly. more masochistic. Well maybe the "strong silent type" of chess manly style.

Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: kind of like Ali in the "Rumble in the Jungle" type counterpunching strong silent type masochistic manlyness is the way i play.

And Petrosian and Ulf Anderssen.

this week at least.

Apr-23-09  madlydeeply: actually now that i've drank some coffee i can remember when I taught my friend's (who likes wilco coincidentally) CRAZY PSYCHO WIFE how to play chess...she knew just what to do! she saw a weakness and piled everything on it! perfect metaphor for their marriage. she was a natural born killer.

most people when they learn...have fun with a knight or something...move it all around....not her. WOMANLY. RUTHLESS. SAVAGE.

CHAINED HEAT.
