Nice game! His mistake reminds me of <one of my big keys to chess improvement>: it is almost never a good idea to respond to your piece being attacked (especially by a pawn) by attacking one of your opponents pieces. Of course you can calculate exceptions: often if you can put your opponent in check it can be a good idea, I think.

May-19-09  Boomie: <jessarooo>

Blue Heffalump and moi have been having a music orgy at the Cirque.

Why don't you come up and see us sometime. And peel me a grape.

Spot quiz: Who wrote those lines?

May-19-09  Woody Wood Pusher: Hey <JFQ>

I played some blitz games at FICS as a guest just to see if it was as tough as I remember...

OMG

I got my butt handed to me in the 3 min

I mean I might as well have served my king on a frekin' plate for them.

I think my opening choices as Black invite too much pressure which is tough to deal with in blitz.

That's my excuse anyway.

haha

May-19-09  Travis Bickle: Thanks Jess for the music loop you made of my playlist ; ) Im having computer problems so I wont be able to make any playlists for awhile since my comp has to be checked out by a technician tomorrow night. Hope to see you soon,

You said it man.

I've just reached my all time <10/0> rating of a towering 1105.

<Switching Owls For Thugs> beat me in three moves....

THEN HE STUCK HIS TONGUE OUT AT ME

(with one of them smily avatar thingies).

I had a 1500+ <10/0> rating at <Yahoo> whichis still sad but like I was saying-

Subtract at least 400 points from your <Yahoo> Blitz rating to get a FICS rating.

On the plus side, the people at FICS are just terrific.

And in <90/0> games I am having a wonderful experience so far.

jessicafischerqueen: Did you know that <GM Wesley So> is known as <The Chairman>?

Also, his parents have the title of...

<SugarDom: Meron Po PinoyFromDubai.

Will and Lenny So...The Chairparents...

Hehehe>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

God Bless <The Chairparents>.

Are there <Grand Chairparents> as well?

I'm guessing they must be very proud.

One day, <Wesley So> will of course have a bunch of <Chairchildren>.

May-20-09  notyetagm: <jessicafischerqueen: <Coach>

I don't know- but like you, of course, <Wesley So You Think You can Beat Me?> and <Humpy Kangaroo> are my favorite Asian players.

They are only 4 years old!!!!>

If they are only 4 years old, then how old is Nyzhnyk, hmmm?

jessicafischerqueen: Is <Noodnik> that kid who plays with the Giant Stuffed Panda on his lap and routinely destroys experienced Russian Grandmasters?

It's almost impossible to beat someone who plays with a Giant Panda on their lap.

  jessicafischerqueen: Speaking of <The Chairman>-

Who could argue with this?

<granyid: The Chairman the banner of the Filipino thalamus in the world of wood..his more than that he already awaken our country in this game..with the gov't move to integrate in our school the game of chess ..somehow we will be like Kalmykia the country where the President idolized chess more than God ..we will also produce a strong contigent of players that believe God above all...somehow my kids will learn chess not this junk warring games in the cyberspace.. anyhow...we were mere mortals and the game of chess will be buried in headstones being forgotten no epitaph at all..so long as we live... test your intillegence if ur head is still working or else we will line up all our effort in life in a small corner sorrounded with white color attendant..oh i love chess..chess...

a great cheers to all circle of friends May 23rd..in Subic i will catch a flight.....welcome me a red carpet..hahaaha..i am just dreaming...

with this remaining rounds our eyes is excited as the The Chairman will do his very best..probably a new variation name after him..

so long tomorrow again...Long Live Wesley So....>

1 ♖e1x♗e7+! wins even though the e7-square has four(!) defenders versus only one(!) attacker, even though the ♖ is more valuable than the ♗, because the e7-square is <LINED UP> with both the Black e8-king and the Black d7-queen and White controls *both* of those <ALIGNMENTS>.

jessicafischerqueen: <kurtrichards: No need to be sorry <jessicafischerqueen>. We are all understanding here at the Barangay. Enjoy kibitzing here. Please do. The word "chinese infidel",ma'am, may I ask,is the phrase has something to do with the relationship among China, the former Soviet Union and the two Koreas? Well,<jessicafischerqueen>,you have the right not to answer my question.>

Well you are certainly sharp.

I meant it as a "joke" but my sense of humor is not the most honorable when it comes down to it.

Also, there is some truth to your theory.

Here in <Korea>, many of the <Hangook saram> don't really trust China or Japan too much.

1. China helped the North invade the South and pretty much obliterated the country- it was shattered after the Korean war.

2. Japan has practiced genocide against the <Hangook saram> on numerous occsions, from the Medieval period right up to 1945.

But mainly the relations are friendly between <Hangook saram> and China/Japan today.

May-21-09  Jim Bartle: I'm getting worried. The incessant niceness and courtesy practiced at the Wesley So page might change the jessica we know. A ever-courteous, non-controversial, always-sunny Jessica might come as a shock.

JINX!

I just answered you at <Travis'> house.

Not to worry big fella.

I'm not changing- but when visiting the Barangay it is important to observe the customs there.

You wouldn't walk into a Korean's house without taking off your shoes first.

Well you could, I suppose, but after you did you would become socially interdict.

Long may the Barangay flourish!

May-21-09  Jim Bartle: No, I admire the people on the Wesley So page for their manner of carrying on the conversation, though I do worry about the level of worship for So. I know they're trying to help him, but I'm not so sure.

Yes, love for Chairman truly runs deep...

But I'm not sure that he reads his own player page.

To my knowledge, apart from active <CG.com> posters such as <Eric Schiller>, <Ray Keene>, <Nigel Short>, and <Lawrence Day>-

I don't know of any non-cg.com member GM who reads his own player page?

Except <Magnus Carlsen> said he reads his page once in a while.

It's an interesting question, eh?

I wonder if <Bobby> ever read his player page.

May-21-09  Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen> Mrs. Chairperson come check out my playlist on my forum tonight. {;OP
