Domdaniel: <Jess> Good to see you and Sweeny back among the nightingales.

Or do I mean Night Owls? Do owls have feathers in their hair or feathers *for* hair? I need to know as I'm thinking of becoming nocturnal.

We'll always have lemurs.

Jun-05-09  notyetagm: Chinese Championship (2009)

Ding Liren is truly unbelievable. This must be the greatest tournament performance by an unknown since Pillsbury at Hastings 1895!

Chinese Championship (2009)/Ding Liren

+5 =5 -0, with wins over 2700 Wang Hao, 2700 Ni Hua, and 2590 Hou Yifan!

His TPR is around 400(!!!!) points higher than his rating. Astounding.

The chess story of the year so far.

Jun-08-09  Boomie: <Jessie>

Stumbling and bumbling around the InterWeb, I discovered your Korean twin sister. She's a pro baduk player and student of English Lit at KU.

Here's a short bio of her baduk career with a nice picture. She was the 3rd youngest Korean to make pro grade which is kind of equivalent to GM at age 11...heh.

http://senseis.xmp.net/?ChoHyeYeon

Here's an article about her blog where she chats daily about everything.

http://english.chosun.com/w21data/h...

In this chat from her blog, she's grappling with linguistics. At the bottom are comments sent in from around the globe. She always responds to everyone.

http://loveku.livejournal.com/42230...

Anyhoo since she's about your age and you share an interest in English Lit and games, I thought you would enjoy chatting with her.

Jun-08-09  SugarDom: <Anyhoo since she's about your age...I thought you would enjoy chatting with her.>

is this an insult? This will sound ridiculous if it was intended as a compliment.

Jun-09-09  Boomie: <SugarDom: <Anyhoo since she's about your age...I thought you would enjoy chatting with her.> is this an insult? This will sound ridiculous if it was intended as a compliment.>

Hmmm. I'm not sure what you mean by this. My statement is they have some things in common which is a good start for a chat.

Jessie and I have a long history at CG and I think we almost always understand each other. That's all that matters here.

Although I think it's sweet that you would come to the rescue of our gracious queen, in the future if you have a problem with one of my posts, please let me know at my forum. That way when misunderstandings like this are cleared up, I can delete the posts to save any embarassment.

Jun-09-09  SugarDom: You sound like you want to be imprisoned in me pirate ship as well.

I'm quite fawn of that pawn. It even figures in the final mating net by controlling e7. And black's 12...e6 could be called the fawnicator for allowing it.

Domdaniel: <Jess> I feel like I've become the missing link between <SugarDom> and <DanielPi>. If this keeps up I'll havta de-mothball *Idle Nomad*.

You, of course, have *everyone else*. Does <everyone else> have a beastly spur?

Hyeugh. I just *knew* that book forum would get messy. Even with rows of shelves and a degree in library science -- I don't actually have one, but I lived with somebody who did, which is nearly as good -- books always end up in piles on every available surface. Floors are good, but tables, chairs, and the ottoman empire all have a role to play.

Be, like, well, OK?

Jun-10-09  Travis Bickle: HELLO JESS!! Nice to have you back!!!
Jun-10-09  SugarDom: Yeah punk, she enjoyed the 7 day cruise in me pirate ship...

Yeah, i'm talkin' to you...

Jun-10-09  SugarDom: See those intense eyes, i'm staring right at you.

Yeah, don't take off those glasses, you won't survive the glare...
