 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> Thanks to you and Boomie, I've looked at the Polgar paintings again. You were right. She's better than I'd allowed. I'd like to see some up close in real life, though. Reproductions are deceptive. I also happen to enjoy strolling through an art gallery in dark glasses, sometimes removing them to commune with flecks of paint from a distance of a quarter inch. Then taking ten steps backwards, lying down sideways and squinting. You takes your fun where you finds it, I guess. |

| Aug-07-09 | | LIFE Master AJ: Remember my example of why you never resign?
I played the perfect example of that tonight at chess club. I wound up getting complacent, and played a stupid move against John Perciballi. I would up losing my Queen for two Knights. (I sat there, just shaking my head. Then I thought about resigning, but decided to make him work for it ... after all, it was just a training game.) However, I hung in there, and avoided exchanges. Then - with me having about three minutes on my clock, and he had about one minute and about 20 seconds on his clock - he swapped a set of Pawns, thinking I had to recapture. However, I hit him with a shot which put his King in a coffin. He had to give up material (to avoid mate); and then resigned a few moves later. |

| Aug-07-09 | | hms123: <jess> A stray emu landed by mistake. I sent it back unharmed. |

Same with me in Korea- I had a very good and solid sleeping pattern going there for a good while- 10pm alseep, up at 5am to practise tactics before work-- But the month before I left that all fell apart.
I'm still sleeping in fits and starts here.
I hope you get a good rest tonight.>
Can you tell us how you practice tactics?...
I'm trying to improve my game.... |
