Dec-05-09  Red October: here is an Indian "English" movie which is quite good IMHO

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc7k...

its called "Being Cyrus" but has nothing to do with Miley thank God...

Dec-05-09  Red October: a very good film to watch is this one

"Do Bigha Zamin"

if you can get a version with English subtitles I think you might like it, its an old film in Black and White..

Dec-05-09  Thorski: Does <The Darjeeling Limited> count as an "Indian" film? =) I love Wes Anderson.

Also, the musical number at the beginning of <Ghost World> is a hoot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyEn...

<Slumdog Millionaire> was, predictably, very good, but I admit I've been remiss in exploring the almost unimaginably vast tapestry of Indian film. Thanks for the pointers, <Red October>!

Dec-05-09  Thorski: <Spaced-out Jess> I suggest you disassemble your keyboard and clean it meticulously. It's not a matter of hygiene - stuff <will> aggregate in there. =)
Dec-05-09  madlydeeply: I personally enjoyed GeddyLee on Bob and Doug MacKenzie's Great White North Album.

Ok please open your forum again.

Really I need a place to drop messages to you.

The main board in here is always cluttered with spam (usually by me) and stuff vanishes before I can respond and then I forget.

All your messages here are hilarious and I read them all in case you were wondering.

Dec-06-09  notyetagm: A Stefanova vs I Sokolov, 2007

How can losing from this White position be possible?

click for larger view

Dec-06-09  madlydeeply: exposed king leads to backlash if white gets sloppy?

with so many pieces the tactical possibilities approach infinity.

Oh...was this a rhetorical question?

Dec-06-09  achieve: OK - first reaction; I was looking at Nxc6 attacking the white queen and if bxc6 then Qc8xc6 and pawns c2 *&* g2 are attacked. Added to that the WQ on d4 is lasered by the Bg7, so the pawn e5 is actually not a defender of the d6-knight, who in turn is defended by her maj an a rook to boot, so I'm clueless as to how this materializes as a possible collapse for the white position, yet.

I'll check the game now--- If I gave away too much I will delete my post asap.

Dec-06-09  achieve: I was dead wrong, and actually I am not *that* surprised that following black's excellent series of moves, Stefanova put her foot wrong.

Very instructive position.

jessicafischerqueen: Hey I've been listening to this ambient music channel on youtube, and the guy <SonyMagellan> offered to custom make his next video based on a theme of my choice-

So I said "redemption" and look what he came up with!

The music is from India, by <Paresh Haza>
