Anyway, regarding Feynman, after studying some of his books and achievements, he was indeed a very <creative> scientist and IMO your assessments was spot on. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <zarg>- heh--- HAHAHA You mean when I call him <GM Levon Ironing, Washing, and Other Women's Work>? It's not my fault he looks effeminate. It's not a crime or anything, I'm sure he's got lots of girlfriends and enjoys striking other men in the face in arguments over an Australian chess playing bint. <Feyhman>'s creativity- It was <Achieve> who introduced that part of the thread- This was a topic <Niels>- not me- stressed- here is the quote <Neils> posted- <As Physics Nobel Laureate Richard Feynman said, " Study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined and original manner possible." The price for seeking understanding is that one must be willing to tolerate ambiguities and accept one's own ignorance. Feynman said, " I can live with doubt and uncertainty. I think it is much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong."> In fact, the post you read by me was the tail end of a three post response I made to this quote that <Neils> posted in my forum. I am really emphasizing this because <Niels> has read a good deal of <Feynman> and also has the wherewithal to understand maths, which I don't. Anyways it's a real treat to have you in here as usual, my dear <Zarg> and feel free to chime in on discussions. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Chancho> nice find- that is the studio record version- Which is not supposed to be posted.
I tried to post several Genesis tracks on youtube but they will not let me load theim- WMG stops it. I think they put an "auto filter" in- that wasn't there before. All of Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot are posted on youtube- all of the other studio records were as well but the rest got taken down by youtube. Bloody fascists.
The track in question is from "Selling England by the Pound"- probably their most "accessible" record- and one of the best IMNSHO. "over the garden wall,,,,"
Nice find though thanks Canyonero |

 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> *All* of 'Thick as a Brick' was still there on YewChewy yesterday ... in 5 pieces, I think. The 'video' is a slow zoom of a watery tart. I'm speculating, not having met many watery tarts, but ... it looks ominous. And where's Biggles? "Really don't mind if you sit this one out ..." |

I love John Tortilla-
Nobody is seeding this torrent!!
However I found it streamed here on <stage vu> and a good rip too-- DIVX quality- I will watch this- but please, please tell me the chess scenes are realistic? I can't stand unrealistic chess scenes in films and TV- and that's 99.99999999999999 per cent of them. You could pay any actual chessplayer to check these kinds of scenes for accuracy- probably for 10 cents. But do they?
NO I am praying the chess scenes are accurate-
Hmmm it looks very good so far- is that <Ralph Fiennes> I see? Thanks Canyonero I think this will be brilliant if you liked it, and since Nabob Brand Tea wrote it, I'm sure the chess will be accurate. Here is the link to watch it free online for anyone else- http://stagevu.com/video/mcmdsldrslrw
Be sure not to watch it with your MICROSOFT GUTLESS VENDORS OF EVIL CRAP INTERNET EXPLORER because it won't play on it- because this most popular browser in the world is TOTALLY AND UTTERLY USELESS and should be burned. you must watch stagevu streaming vids on GORILLA FIREFOX or SAFARI or OPERA. |

It's only WMG music that is banned from youtube due to them being the only music company they haven't made a copyright royalties deal with yet. However- which WMG tracks, exactly, are blocked or hunted down and deleted depends on the current marketing plans of WMG and the acts in question. Genesis has just re-released tons of remastered material so Tony Banks is making sure that Genesis uploaders are shot if necessary. A lot is still uploaded- since Tony and the gang don't actually own the copyright on tons of the live footage and neither does WMG- However, like I was saying, I think Genesis has had an auto block added recently on youtube- because I can't upload any of mine it gets blocked straight off with a WMG copyright violation notice. For most of the Prog Rock bands- in fact all of them, as far as I can tell- you can upload all of it. Every Floyd album is uploaded for example and all of King Crimson etc. etc. and Biggles of course. Also, there is a lot of Genesis uploaded that's still sitting there- But in the last year <seven> youtube accounts were banned for not complying with the anti-Genesis rule- I know because I had subscribed to them all.
Anyways, I could care less now that I have every single version of every single Genesis song live or dead on my hard drive now. You can upload them to <metacafe> easily enough. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Chancho> Yep it is suberb- I rented this movie and watched it in Canada three years ago- I just realized now that I've watched a few minutes of it. Fantastic movie I just loved it..... I will watch it again tomorrow, although I remember it vividly now that I've remembered it. I second your recommendation.
It is a superb chess film and a superb film period.
And here it is FREE FREE FREE for all to watch-
THE LUHZIN DEFENCE (from the Nabokov novel)

IMNSHO
Although I believe you do know this Internet acronym, even though I made it up, as far as I know. Anyhoo I didn't copy it from somewhere. I am against all internet acronyms on principle because I find them insipid, jejune, disingenuous, gauche, and a bunch of other foreign words. LOL
I particularly don't like the IMHO, however- "in my humble opinion" because if you have to say "humble" in the acronym it's likely the opinion will be anything but. As in the PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF (fill in blank) isn't *really* democratic. So I always type IN MY NOT SO HUMBLE OPINION (IMNSHO), because I don't see the point in being coy in these matters. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Chancho> pardon me if I seem even fruitier than usual but it's 4:30 AM here and I'm wide awake because i'm on a 50 day vacation and I don't have to get up early . I may stay up all night and then try to go to sleep tomorrow at 5:00 Pm and then get up at 3:00 am to get back on an "early bird schedule." On the other hand, I may lie in bed for 36 more hours like a slug, since it's vacation. |
