jessicafischerqueen: It's now worries mister tks but I'm pretty sure that guy doesn't want to hear about the glass of water.

I was defending you, not the glass of water I'm pretty sure that glass can defend itself. You are always polite and respectful wherever you post (unlike me tks) so I don't like to see anyone snapping at you. Or at me for that matter-- truth be told that's actually why I went over to his house in the first place and then saw his post about you there.

Remember not everybody believes the same thing and they don't necessarily want to hear about some things in their forum-

You just never know especially about that guy as I think he's clearly unstable. He has three modes: friendly, ballistic, and my favorite one where he explains in great detail, with posts thousands of words long, what a terrible, terrible person he really is and which medications, exactly, he's taking, and won't everybody please forgive him.

I don't think he's clear on the concept of the traditional "public/private" distinction, or on the concept of "the internet" for that matter. This is a chess website, not a Confessional Booth.

At any rate I'm happy to ignore him but he insisted on labelling me "childish" in a public forum which is fine- so long as he understands I will respond in kind, as I did.

tks

Apr-11-10  madlydeeply: Dude you don't know any surfers? You are like so totally square.

I've been thinking a lot about mambo lately. I think it's calling me. A dance for spazzes. Goofy looks on faces. Ohmygod howcome nobody showed me mambo? where did mambo go?

Apr-11-10  madlydeeply: Hmm the Seivillanas used to be calling me but i neglected her as well. I don't know if i spelled that right. How long can i live such a self centered life? a conundrum.

Hey, it worked.

Well, no. But I'm able to *pretend* it worked. A result.

Now, about this medication ... ? Who has it, exactly? Any, you know, extra?

Domdaniel: There's a cool trick with grapes but I don't know how it works. Apparently you take some grapes, mutter magic words over them, do some treading and bottling, and 100 years later you have a vintage wine.

Like *Vesuvinum*, nesspah? Knocks your brains out.

Apr-13-10  madlydeeply: THe Sevillana is an elegant dance where the dancers don't touch each other much but they must look into each other's eyes. I saw it in France i was mesmerised. It was in a little village called the "St Marys of the sea" where they worship two st marys. Near another village where they worship a black madonna. I hope I remembered that accurately. It was in Camargue region.

hmm i'll look it up.

Here's an explanation.

http://www.andalucia.com/flamenco/s...

Here's the dance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzJh...

Its also a flamenco music form but i think that is different than the dance. I don't think the dance is flamenco. But i'm probably wrong about all that as usual.

Apr-13-10  madlydeeply: PS all the 40 year old russian/jewish punk rockers in philly kept bringing pickled grapes to parties the last couple of years. They are fun. You pop one in your mouth...pickle! then you chew...grape! Whoa! Dude!

Domdaniel: <cormier> Thanks. The bits of the island that I've lived in -- east, south and west -- have been peaceful for longer than I remember. The trouble was in the northern part. But it was always possible to visit there without difficulty, as I often did. And the violence never interfered with chess -- players from all 'sides' have always been courteous and amicable to one another.

What remains now is what the media call *sectarian tensions*. This happens when two groups -- like two distinct tribes -- share a country without integrating. They have separate schools, separate religions, separate national allegiances, and so on. By staying apart, they continue to think of the 'others' as enemies, which is sad and stupid.

Doubly so since both tribes profess belief in similar gods.
