Jun-24-10  twinlark: Hi Jess

Just thought I'd let you know I wasn't pushing the Junge barrow. I thought you might like the photo <chancho> found, if you didn't have it already (which of course you did. Oh well.).

Hope you're over your ear infection. Nasty things, ear infections; I lost some hearing because of one a few years ago.

Jun-24-10  Travis Bickle: Hello Queen Jess! How are feeling M'Lady? Here's a song you can play before you go to sleep. ; P

Here's a song that John Lennon wrote but gave to Ringo to sing at the end of the white album. (All 3 Beatles coached Ringo right before he sings the take of this unfinished version from The Beatles Anthology cd's.) ; P

Jun-25-10  Travis Bickle: D'oh!! I forgot to give you the Beatle songlink. Here It Is.

Jun-25-10  LIFE Master AJ: Jess - I truly hope you are feeling better.

Me? Sometimes I think I am losing my marbles.

Its almost 0300 hours, and (once more), I am plagued by insomnia.

Usually, when I am so affected, I play several hours of blitz chess ... or occaisionally, a little Halo3 on the old X-Box(360).

Tonight, I did something MUCH different, at least for me. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_li...

I watched all five parts of your YT video's on Bobby Fischer. EXCELLENT WORK! Truly outstanding!!!

I will tell you a funny story. My gandmother took me to see the U.S. Championship where Fischer won all of his games, I was literally just a little kid. She got ALL the players to sign the playing-card/schedule. I have no idea what happened to it, but I would bet it would be worth an obscene amount of money today to a collector.

jessicafischerqueen: <Lifemaster Goldsby>= thanks for your well wishes, and especially for that story- amazing.

I can't believe you got to see Bobby in action like that.

I will send you an EMU with information tomorrow as promised.

Also, your encouraging comments are very helpful to my morale in these history projects.

I'm sorry you have insomnia- usually I watch the worst TV show on the planet to help me sleep.

Warmest regards,
Jess

Jun-26-10  madlydeeply: you enjoy animal crossword puzzles? i'm just scared of big things. Also too many things. Once i was in lovely Aravaipa canyon and i saw millions of daddylongleg spiders all hanging onto each other on the canyon wall...from far away it looked like big mold fuzz. Being the impulsive redneck i am i tossed a pebble at them and they started flowing down the rock wall like water over each other. I ran like hell of course one daddylonglegs is cute but ten thousand is a whole nuther ball of earwax. I think the same trip i saw a coatimundi...i had never heard of those before in my life...there where three of them tumbling around like big japanese salamander-sized kittens and one of them looked at me with an old man face. It was a trip because y'know i'm from the desert and thought i knew about all the animals HAH FAT CHANCE
Jun-26-10  madlydeeply: pretty sure it was this fellah

http://www.bugbog.com/images/galler...

what was he doing in AZ?

It was definitely NOT a ring tailed cat i've seen plenty of those. they stole a pineapple cake from my friends they turned their back on it for a second and when they turned around caught one more brief glimpse of that safeway monstrosity disappearing over a ridge...

i guess the main difference is the cat has a bushier tail and black black eyes.

ah memories

Jun-26-10  Travis Bickle: Hi Jess The Clapton concert is in the final stages now with about an hour and 15 minutes to go. The started the Crossroads festival at 12 pm today in Bridgeview a town just a few minutes from my house. From my backyard I can hear Stevie Winwood doing a little Traffic music! ; P

Jun-28-10  Travis Bickle: Hello Jessica hopw are you feeling? Good to hear from you!! ; )

I thought Clapton played here last year but it was way back in 2007. I think I got confused because I seen that dvd of that '07 performance on TV last year. As Homer Simpson would say D'OH!!! Eric started the shows to benefit his rehab center in Antigua.

Here's some info if you want to check out his shows and lineups. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossr...

Jun-28-10  Travis Bickle: Here's a song you may have seen before from the Bridgeview show in 2007 with Jeff beck & Tal Wilkenfeld. You can hear actor/comedian Bill Murray introduce them.

jessicafischerqueen: <Lifemaster Goldsby> I just sent you two emails- let me know if they didn't get through properly.

My email is (removed).

And it's not a "secret email" so don't worry about it being posted here at your house.

Best regards,
Jess

PS I can attest to the unreliability of "ratings" in long time control internet games on Yahoo, which is the bulk of my competitive chess activity.

I have hooked absolute bears with very low ratings, and alternately, I've played players hundreds of points higher than me who offered almost no opposition. And ESPECIALLY- as you've pointed out, you can't tell ANYTHING AT ALL about someone's playing strength if they have a "provisional rating."

That's for sure.

By and large, however, over the hundreds of games I've played on Yahoo, if I select an opponent within a hundred points of my rating, give or take, I'm generally assured of a tough game that I still have some chance of winning.>

THANKS ... for the thoughtfully, well-written post in my forum.

Jun-28-10  Open Defence: i didnt like the BEP when they first came out, but this particular track (s) has a lot going on, both in rhythm and harmonies
