Did America win the World Cup yet?

I think we got knocked out already. I'm suspicious though because they don't tell me anything and they all speak Korean.

All I know is I gave 10,000 won in the world cup office pool and I never saw it again.

???

WannaBe: Yes, according to the N. Korean press, they won it all, 1003-0 over the much hated capitalists U.S. and Kim Il Jung personally scored 900 goals!

You should be expecting a large payout from your office pool, any day now.

WannaBe: I do not know, if you are aware of this, a while back, the U.S. mint asked each state to design a special image, to celebrate statehood. To go on the back of the quarter, the front, will still be G.W., while the reverse side, will be unique. (Much like the Euro coins, I believe...)

And, Alabama's submission, is this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2...

Upon which, I did the same gag with my friends, so don't feel 'too' bad about me pulling a fast one on ya.

ahahahaha I get it.

Jul-03-10  Travis Bickle: Hello Lady Jess!! ; ) How are ya?
Jul-03-10  Travis Bickle: Im doing ok but this site is kinda dead. Are you taking a break from your gigantic production of great chess masters, what with producing, directing and editing you must be exhausted. ; P P.S. Hollywood does make monsters mostly vampires. LOL

  jessicafischerqueen: <Maestro Travissimo>

Site always goes dead in the summer.

Things will pick up in September as usual.

Yes I will be taking a break thanks for asking- I'm almost finished the project I'm working on at the moment.

Then I'll have a whole month off in Canada and a big break from making videos.

When I come back I will start production on a <Pillsbury> video biography.

In the mean time, don't forget about the gems we still get daily at this website-

such as from <HeMateMe> a few days ago but I forget where-

"How did the Mormons get across the ocean? On wagons with inflatable inner tubes?"

Thanks for putting me on the list-

<eating the right amount of proper food is the goal of intelligence>

Nope, it isn't.

"Intelligence" per se, as you use it in that sentence, can't have a "goal" because it's not sentient.

In addition, if you rewrite your sentence in the King's English-

"The best use of human intelligence is to eat the right amount of proper food"

It is still not a fact.

Arbitrary and general to the point of being meaningless.

But thanks!

Have a few twinkies- on me.

Jul-08-10  Travis Bickle: Hi Jess! Ringo Starr turned 70 yesterday. Come see Ringo's songs and Paul Macca showing up at Ringo's concert last night and playing birthday with him! ; P

Botvinnik vs Keres, 1966

In other news, I was looking at one of my CC games this morning and it took me about 10 minutes to realize my opponent had just hung his Queen (in a somewhat complicated and bad position, but still). This is why I shouldn't look at games before 6 AM...

As far as the Mednis game goes, I think the one I posted is correct. It was from the federation magazine, published at the time. As I suggested in the post, I think Mednis made some alterations in the book version for instructional purposes. If you play over the full game, you will see White repeating moves at several points, which maybe doesn't make much sense today, but this was back when men were men, and we didn't need no steenkin' sudden death time controls.
