Jul-28-10  Travis Bickle: Thanks Jess for that great Genesis performance! Phil was a really good drummer. I noticed his name on the credits was listed as Philip Collins lol. Peter Gabriel must have left the band after a very short time.

<<jessicafischerqueen:> Doh!>

<So it was <The Good Anarchist> who posted that link?>

lol

<AJ> I came over here to ask you about Pillsbury's last great win- his victory over <Lasker> in round 6 at <Cambridge Springs 1904>.

You have posted extensive analysis of this game on your website, correct?

I'm just trying to find that now.

(I'm not a very good navigator!)

Anyways I'm researching a video documentary about Pillsbury right now and I may email you some more detailed questions if that's Ok.

Jess>

Jess:

Actually, the page has moved literally a dozen times. You were not the only one who had a hard time finding it ... I looked for over an hour before I did!!!!!!!!! (I also GOOGLED it.)

If there is any way I could help, let me know.

Jul-28-10  LIFE Master AJ: Jess:

A VERY good site ... on CS 1904 ... is maintained by my friend, Steven Etzel of WI.

http://home.roadrunner.com/~etzel/c...

You will see a lot of my analysis and work on his website, just like the website, http://www.worldchessacademy.com/ ... which also has a lot of my work.

Anyway's Steve's website is just about the best source of info on Cambridge Springs, 1904. Steve has caught MANY errors in the game scores of these games, whoever originally entered these into Chessbase was NOT going for accuracy.

Check it out, and have fun.

jessicafischerqueen: <AJ>= thanks - good grief those links are staggeringly thorough eh?

Starting with your own analysis of the game, which includes a comprehensive account of other people's annotations and the history of the annotations too.

Well of course all your analyses include this feature, but the history of annotations for this particular game is not only particularly rich, there are people fighting about it to this very day!

In addition, your friend's website on Cambridge Springs is breathtaking.

I'm going to email you to ask you a few questions about him and the site if that's ok.

Fantastic thank you so much <AJ>.

Wow! Cambrian Era Springs was a walkover for Marshall Dylan.

He went through those guys like crap through a goose!

Notice that at the concession stand, they had plenty of Mieses Pieces.

Jul-29-10  Bdellovibrio: I thought <As I Lay Dying> was terrific, although I should probably read it a second time because I felt as if a lot of it was over my head. I started <The Sound and the Fury> earlier this month, and its even more difficult, especially for someone with so little experience in the realm of literature as me :-)

There is something musical about Faulkner's prose, even I can enjoy that...

Jul-30-10  hms123: <jess> Here's something to help you with your maths: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drE5...
Jul-30-10  Boomie: OK, Howard. You opened a can of squirmy things with this MATHS business.

So how tall is Imhotep, you're so smart, huh?

Jul-30-10  hms123: <Boomie> A lot taller than I am, but it's hard to know because he's invisible.
Jul-30-10  Boomie: <Howard the Duck>

This is starting to sound like Zen Maths.

If Imhotep is invisible, how tall is he in the forest with one hand clapping?

Jul-30-10  hms123: <Boomie> It depends--how high is the tree he climbed?
Jul-30-10  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess I was doing some searching for my forum's pop culture and I thought you would be interested in this guy, Dudley Do-Right LOL!! He was a Canadian character on the infamous Rocky J. Squirrel & Bullwinkle (the moose) Show. The 1st night time cartoon!

Jul-30-10  Boomie: <hms123: <Boomie> It depends--how high is the tree he climbed?>

We should set up a normal distribution of trees on a histogram with the Imhotep icon at the bottom and height on the left. However since nobody we know is anywhere near normal, this would be a formidable task.

So I think we should just wing it. Pick our Poisson, so to speak.
