jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Aug-27-10  Open Defence: <TD> i think the word you are looking for is BUSTED!
Aug-27-10  technical draw: That's right <OD>. You know I am the richest member here. But with Obama and the economy so bad, my investments have hit hard times. So it's hard for me to pay $20 for a gag when I can easily steal it. In hard economic times honesty is the first victim.
Aug-27-10  Open Defence: so your slogan is <Tell it like you stole it?>

:)

Aug-27-10  technical draw: Well I say, <If you don't like the joke complain to the guy I stole it from>...
Aug-27-10  Open Defence: also time to dump all that BP stock!

The part where I don't get my $20.

Aug-28-10  notyetagm: Carlsen vs J L Hammer, 2010

39 ?

<acgneves: As a humble 1700 player, I´m skeptical after figure out in a sec that Hammer missed a forced win with 39 ..Rc1+ (no rybka to confirm that) when white will have to give up the rook and the bishop to delay mate. Is that correct? lol>

Yes, shockingly Carlsen(!!) **really** did play 39 ♖d3-d2??

39 ♖d3-d2??

and Hammer **really** did miss the instantly winning and obvious 39 ... ♖c2-c1+ and instead played his "pre-move" of 39 ... ♖h2x♖d2?

39 ... ♖h2x♖d2?

(VARIATION)
39 ... ♖c2-c1+

This was **not** a relay error, as shown by Hammer's discussion of this incredible case of mutual "chess blindness" in the video at http://chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp....

According to the ICC game record Hammer had only 32 seconds left on his clock when he played 39 ... ♖h2x♖d2? while Carlsen had 6:24 on his clock before he played the howler 39 ♖d3-d2??.

39 ♖d3-d2?? is probably the single worst move Carlsen has played in many, many years, maybe ever.

Aug-28-10  crawfb5: <Open Defence: <Jess> check this one out>

Oh those frisky Indians sure know how to display a tank top.

Aug-29-10  Travis Bickle: I sent you an email Jess.
Aug-29-10  crawfb5: <Jess> The new GM scheduled to play the world (CG members) is <Pogo>. We have met the enemy and she is <Rus>.
Aug-29-10  Open Defence: <Red October> might be an enemy spy! she is female and commie!!!!!
Aug-29-10  crawfb5: Then you'll have to keep an eye on yourself.

Btw, I think it was smart for <Pogo> to pick a "speed" version of one half-move per day. I think it will be difficult for the centipawn crowd to reach consensus in complex positions with only one day deliberation time.

Aug-29-10  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess Anybody Home?? ; P

jessicafischerqueen: <Deffi> no, BAZOOMBAS are not part of the casting process.

You may be thinking of the four part GREAT MOMENTS IN BAZOOMBA HISTORY series, which nobody seems to be interested in except <Big Crawdaddy>.
