jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Sep-17-10  therealbenjinathan: <jfq> Did you try Biblio.com? They look like they have one copy.
Sep-17-10  Russian Grandmasters: Thanks for the tip <Benji> I will go there and check it out.

I think it might be a year before I could start work on a video about <Marshall Dillon> but it would be better to have the biography in hand for sure.

Sep-17-10  Russian Grandmasters: "...we love chess, but do we love history?"

Sep-17-10  therealbenjinathan: I will keep an eye out for it too. Let me know if you get it.
Sep-17-10  crawfb5: <Jess the Younger> I just got email from Amazon letting me know Lawson's biography, <Paul Morphy: Pride and Sorrow of Chess> is coming back out in print as a paperback for $20 USD!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/18...

I hear it is excellent.

Sep-17-10  Russian Grandmasters: <Big> good news indeed! I can confirm it's an excellent biography. In some sense, it's kind of the only biography ever written about a chess player, since it's about the details of <Morphy's> entire life.

I read this book cover to cover three summers ago whilst home on vacation.

I got it out of the Liberry!

Sep-18-10  Travis Bickle: Jess did you ever see this Penny Lane video from 1967? Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever were a double A sided 45 rpm single.

Penny Lane - The Beatles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO0g...

P.S.
The song that stopped The Beatles streak at 12 in a row was Please Please Me by Anglebert Humperdinck! LOL!! Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forver came in 2nd place in The UK, although Penny Lane was a number 1 hit in the U.S. Producer George Martin said he thought it was The Beatles best single release to date at the time!

Sep-18-10  Travis Bickle: Sorry Jess I mistyped twice before...D'OH!!

The song was by *Engelbert Humperdinck after the German classical composer's name, and was called *Please Release Me, not (sic) Please Please Me. Down below is the song that wrecked The Beatles number 1 streak in the U.K at 12 beginning in late 1962 with the 1st being 'From Me To You'.

Please Release Me - Humpadink LOL

Fantastic links and hats off to <The Old Testament Prophet Ezekiel>

Sep-18-10  Open Defence: <Engelbert Humperdinck> he's an Anglo Indian,

we are very proud of his achievements, especially going through school with a name like that

Sep-18-10  Russian Grandmasters: Well yes I was about to say. I thought <T-Dawg> was making it up.

I didn't know Humpbackwhale was an Indian name?

I believe you though he does have that smoldering Bollywood star appeal for sure.

Sep-18-10  Russian Grandmasters: <Deffi> also how do you know about <Beau Geste>?

I know about him only through Peanuts comics when Snoopy used to pretend he was in the French Foreign Legion.

He changed it on the suggestion of his manager to Engelbert...

Sep-18-10  crawfb5: Whew. I finished submitting all the missing games from <Spirit of St. Louis, 1904>, about 32 total. Not all my sources had round numbers for all the games and this was back in the day of draws were replayed, although they put a twist on it -- for the replay game colors were switched, and if the second game was also a draw, then the result was scored as one draw. They set aside two days (one about midway and one at the end) for adjournments and replay games.

So, I had to do some untangling to figure out who, what, and where. PGN uploads have been processed fairly quickly, so I should be able to move ahead in the near future.

I haven't given much thought to Atlantic City 1921. I rechecked <ACB 1921> and I think I could bring the total up to around 19 or 20 games out of 67.
