| Sep-26-10 | | Mrs. Alekhine: Hello <AJ>!
No, I don't vote or comment on the <Centaur Challenges>, for a couple of reasons. I'm not a strong enough analyst to add anything of much use, and more importantly (to me) I'm uninterested in Cyborg Chess. However, I am *very* interested to cheer on the team to beat <WGM Pogonina>. I read the posts on the game page most every day, and I'm pleased to see an atmosphere of comraderie, good cheer, and hard work. I predict victory for <chessgames.com>. <AJ> I love this website, so whatever side this website is on, that's the side I'm on. |

| Sep-26-10 | | crawfb5: Atlantic City Fun Fact of the Day: Samuel D Factor was the nephew of cosmetics founder <Max Factor>. Even so, I don't think there is enough lipstick for this PIG: Kashdan vs Factor, 1926 |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | TheFocus: I have Hibert's <Essays> and <ACB> 1922 so I will look for anything about Atlantic City and will post tomorrow (Monday) to let you know what I have found. If it is a lot, perhaps I can xerox and mail to you.
I have a large library but have not added the Whitaker book, although I will. |

| Sep-26-10 | | Mrs. Alekhine: <Big Crawdaddy> Jinx! I was just reading about <Just the Factors, Ma'am> on chess.com. One of the lads on the chess history forum there has posted an entire series on him. You know I went to that game link thinking "It's no shame to lose to <The Little Capablanca>, as they used to call Kashdan, until I saw the WHOOPS. Back rank flubs- we've all fallen victim.
Discouraging. |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | crawfb5: <The Focus> Thanks! I'm off to work in a few minutes, but either tonight or tomorrow I will post what games I already have (just the pairings and results, not the whole PGNs) in my forum. |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | crawfb5: <JessSayGo> Well, work interferes with everything, especially my job. Or is it the other way around? Doreen won't let my buy weapons, or even dangerous tools. She tries to confiscate any escape funds -- well any she <knows> about... The dogs <live> for Daddy-Daughter Days, so you know they would oppose any research trips. I had to go out of town for a week years ago and that's when our former dog started sleeping on my clothes. I'll have to see what newspaper archives nearby libraries might have, but I am not optimistic. |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | Mrs. Alekhine: Well Ok then you've got to hire a "good man" to do these errands for you. Somebody stout, resolute.
If you lived in England you'd already have one. They are called "Batmen," if I'm not mistaken. You can't buy weapons? I suggest a steady diet of <Elvis> and <James Brown> for a week. They are excellent role models, in that they both enjoyed owning (and using) firearms, and knew "how to keep they hos in line." |

<Watching the games of the 2010 OlympiadIt goes without saying that the options to watch the games live are wide and varied. You can watch them at no cost on Playchess, enjoying the software's new options to display multiple boards at the same time, and if you are a Premium member, live grandmaster commentary will be provided on Playchess for every round by GM Daniel King, author of the best-selling Power Play series, and GM Yasser Seirawan. If you miss the live games, you can always watch the commentary after the fact, or get an abridged tale via the Daily Roundup show also hosted on Playchess at 6 PM UTC (2 PM New York). <<<Again, if you miss the show, it remains available on the server at your disposal.>>>> Anyone know how to watch GM King's Daily Roundup on the playchess.com server? I jut got a Premium Membership and cannot figure it out. Thanks |

| Sep-26-10 | | crawfb5: I thought my role model was supposed to be Hunter Thompson. The lack of weapons does stimulate creativity. One of my goals toward achievement of inner peace is to have no living enemies. We call Talia (the avatar) a "lap ho" because she never met a lap she didn't like. And I suppose "keeping the hoes in line" isn't the same as "keeping a line of hoes." Time to pull together a list of Atlantic City games I have. |

 | | Annie K.: I'm gonna butt in on this one... ;p
Given a situation of no weapons, I highly recommend MacGyver as a role model. :D |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | Russian Grandmasters: <McGyver> and <Wonder Woman> are the two highest rated American TV shows in Korea. In fact they are so crazy about Richard Dean Anderson that they also show his truly terrible other series "Air Wolf." ??? |
|
| Sep-26-10 | | Russian Grandmasters: <Big> so you've decided to "pull the trigger" on <Atlantis> eh? Good idea.
And as usual you are correct. "Keeping a line of hoes" is quite different. In order to do that, you need to buy you girls new kicks alla time or they can't make bank. _______s won't be __________ they ________ unless they see fahn kicks on they ________. |

| Sep-27-10 | | crawfb5: I found a roundabout way into post-1902 issues of the <Eagle>! The search function leaves something to be desired and the PDFs take <forever> to load, but it sure beats making research trips... http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html |

| Sep-28-10 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Jess did you see that Horses A$$ lifetime Patzer AJ on the kibitzer page call me a Troll? Me & HeMateMe were ribbing each other over The Chicago Bears & Green Bay Packers and this goonface sticks his big nose in our fun. Everything he posts is a damn spam! |

 | | Annie K.: <Larks> pretty game, huh? :) Nice to see Judit apparently back in form! I thought she was looking sharp in the Carlsen against the UnderWorld game too, but of course the clash of plans created by the voters there made the game doomed, if entertaining. :p <Jess> hi! ;) Btw, what's with the any account but <Jess> business? |

| Sep-29-10 | | LIFE Master AJ: I just posted the following in "Travis Bickle"'s forum. <<<Sep-28-10 Travis Bickle: Hey Jess did you see that Horses A$$ lifetime Patzer AJ on the kibitzer page call me a Troll? Me & HeMateMe were ribbing each other over The Chicago Bears & Green Bay Packers and this goonface sticks his big nose in our fun. Everything he posts is a damn spam! > Sir:
You are sadly mistaken about many things.
# 1.) Someone had just sent me that "letter art" in a private e-mail. I passed it along. It was aimed at no one in particular. # 2.) I have no axe to grind with you. (At least, not currently.) In fact, I was not aware of us having ANY communications at all in the last six months ... and possibly longer than that. # 3.) Nothing I post is "SPAM." You, on the other hand, with your continuous music posts, could be seen as a spammer. I apologize if you thought that the "letter art" cartoon was directed at you - it was not. This is as far as I am willing to go. If you want to drop this now and let by-gones be just that, this is fine with me. However, if you continue on your little tirade, you might leave me no other choice than to place you on my "ignore" list. The decision is yours.> > |
