jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

jessicafischerqueen: Is anyone else so lazy that they won't haul their ass across the street to get proper food, "reasoning" that "Hey I still have a can of tuna and a pickle so why bother"?
Nov-18-10  dakgootje: I made my own drinks last summer [just water and add a little taste with lemon/lime juice; ginger juice etc] because, it being summer, otherwise I'd have to walk to the shop every other day to get a couple more bottles. Was fairly good actually!

With food I am generally better.. :P

jessicafischerqueen: <dak> brilliant idea. I've been enjoying water with just a little taste of water. Possibly I can obtain a lime on the black market.
Nov-18-10  dakgootje: You must secretly be a top chef. The combination of water with just a few drops of water is rarely made and appreciated - even though we know it is a delicacy!

A few months ago, I remember it well, I added to my usual meal of water a bit of rice! Needless to say, my taste-buds went absolutely <mad> with excitement!

Nov-18-10  cormier: when 7-10 y o my mom added ginger+a little sugar to a glass of real water ... yes in those days also real pure water was a preacious liquid .... and it was free ..... only in a free place(land), can you get something free in surabundance, make yourself a gift-treat, tks G
Nov-18-10  dakgootje: I remember in my childhood the soft-drink manufacturers would add a bit of pure acid to a glass of real sugar

;D

jessicafischerqueen: Luxury. When I was a child we had to steal our own acid from chemist's, poison our own water, and dance on our graves singing bloody hallelujah.
Nov-18-10  dakgootje: You must have had wealthy parents. We on the other hand, had to work hard to earn our graves. We had to bribe, steal and plunder just to get our daily dosis of poison. I remember, once, I had been killed three times in a single day - they were furious when I came home late.
Nov-18-10  hms123: Uh...I had to walk to school..in the snow...uphill both ways. That's not good enough, is it?
Nov-18-10  dakgootje: That sounds aweful :(

Nov-21-10  hms123: <Travis> You are now officially <very cool>.
Nov-21-10  Travis Bickle: <hms123> Thanks hms123 but without Jess I'd be an also ran. ; P
Nov-21-10  Travis Bickle: Jess here's a song I dedicate to you for being the wonderful Lady you are! ; )

Nov-21-10  hms123: <Travis> I don't think you'd be an also-ran in my eyes. Besides, there are many of us who might say the same thing. That makes <jess> <VERY VERY COOL> indeed.
Nov-22-10  Open Defence: great video! I am officially JEALOUS!
Nov-22-10  crawfb5: <Jess> While awaiting processing of various PGN uploads, I have been pulling together some stuff on early US championship matches on the recommendation of <PB&J>. One that is semi-complete that would be of interest to you is:

Game Collection: Pillsbury - Showalter 1897 match

I've sorted the games and have the correct dates from Pope (although Games 14 and 20 are missing some of the final moves), so mostly I have to work on the intro some until I'm reasonably happy with it.

I have the games pulled for the rematch, but I haven't sorted and dated them or even started an intro yet.

I plan on having one "meta" collection that links to each match collection and I want to put a link in each match collection back to the meta. The meta will give some chronology as well as let me talk a little bit about them overall. I've got the very first Stanley-Rousseau match game and the very last Marshall-Ed. Lasker match game as the two games in the meta (the first and last US championship match games).

Nov-22-10  Travis Bickle: Jess I got a few Macca songs for ya. 1 is from his Beatle days and 1 is many years later. What's interesting is the Beatlemania is still there in the modern crowd of 2005! ; P

Nov-23-10  therealbenjinathan: <jfq> You should think out your escape plan if worse comes to worse. And I mean something other than going to the airport and hoping for a flight-a plan B in other words. Perhaps ligning up someone with a car to drive to one of the East coast ports and on to Japan.

Of course this will probably blow over. But things happen fast. In 1950 it took two days for the government to leave Seoul. It is good to be a boyscout on this stuff.

Only because I care, b
