| Jan-04-11 | | Travis Bickle: Hi Jess here's a few more Paul Macca tunes. The 1st song he performed in Chicago back in 1990 when I seen him 8th row center stage for a mere 200 bucks a ticket. ; P The second song is off his Flaming Pie album to which he gave Ringo Starr a song authorship credit. | Jan-05-11 | | kudubux: Hello <JFQ>!
It's me Rich. I voted for you as Best Historian in a tie with <craw>. |
|
| Jan-05-11 | | Travis Bickle: Hi Jess thanks for your vote! ; P
That song link I sent ya 'Figure Of Eight' is from Paul Mac's Flowers In The Dirt album. Below is the album cover and below that is album info.http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower...
I think Ringo Starr was a very creative drummer for The Beatles and Phil Collins who would know, said he's under-rated as a drummer. Ringo like his friendly rival Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones are excellent drummers and are the best for the bands they played in. P.S. Once I was listening to a call in radio program in Chicago in the early to mid 90's & Ringo made the comment, "I am the worlds greatest drummer." A caller called in and asked Starr "who said you're the greatest drummer"? To which Ringo matter of factly replied, "I did" end of call. HAHAHAHA!! He played in the best band so he was the best drummer! ; P |

| Jan-06-11 | | TheFocus: From my Forum:
<jessicafischerqueen>< Tremendous work on the new collections- the <Eastern State Open> in particular since I was just reading about that event in my current research on <Rossolimo>.<Rossolimo> shared second with <Bobby>, <Feuerstein>, and <Lombardy> behind <Hans Berliner>, as you know.> The Eastern States open was a non-rated USCF tournament. There was no cross-table ever printed, although a photo of the wall-chart after the final round was taken. I am trying to obtain that photo. <Ok the order of your collections is the strict chronology right?> I just put them in and <CG> puts them in order. Is there a way I can put them in chronological order? That is how I want them to be. My collections will only be Bobby's games in the events although others have included his competitors' games as well, making it a complete tournament work. Very good work on their part. <CG.com isn't going to change the hyperlink forms so I'm going to completely rearrange the <Bobby's Tournaments> section of my Profile so that all of your new work is in there and so people can actually read and navigate the links easily. Might take me a day or so to figure that out. The entire Profile needs to be checked and re-edited at any rate.> <Fantastic work on your part.> |
|
| Jan-06-11 | | TheFocus: <jess> I have figured out a way of putting my Collections in chronological order. It is a little bit <caveman style> but it works for now. |
|
| Jan-06-11 | | kudubux: <Thanks Rich and nice to see you stopping by too. Do you live in Seward's Folly, Connecticut, same as Big Crawdaddy> ?I'm miles away from <craw>. And hey, isn't Seward's Folly the old name of Alaska? |
|
Jan-06-11
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Rich> I'm no geography expert, but I believe you are correct. If I'm not mistaken, this is the timeline- <30,000 BC:> "Alaska" belongs to Asia. Ghengis Khan is the first ruler. <1800 AD:> Russian whaling boats accidentally catch Alaska, and decide to keep it. <Some time later:> US president Seward purchases Alaska from Joseph Stalin for one million dollars US funds. <1955:> The state of Connecticut picks up Alaska for the nominal fee of one dollar US funds after it goes into receivership. |

<jessicafischerqueen>< OK I just looked at your collections and every date looks in order from oldest to most recent. How did you arrange it? Did you really secure the services of a Caveman?> What I did was simply put the date and then a number: such as 1958 - 4: - meaning 4th tournament or event of the year. <I'm going to attempt to daunting task of refurbishing the Bobby Tournament section of my Profile today, so that people can actually read it.Thanks for voting for me and <Big Tuna>- coming from you in particular, that means a great deal to me, for obvious reasons.> <crawbf5> has been doing a great job this year. I was glad to provide him with whatever I had available. And I love the videos you have done. Fantastic work!! Congrats on the shared Best Handle distinction.
By the way, you know I am a fan of yours. Your profile page with all the "Dear Boy" stuff was an inspiration to me to get off my duff and do something similar. |

| Jan-06-11 | | kudubux: <JFQ>
Thanks for the "chronological dates in Alaskan history". :) Long before the birth of the Internet and the 65% reliable Wikipedia, I have read somewhere that a certain Seward guy (he held some high position, I guess) initiated this "purchase" from Russia in the 1860s. Oh well, I'm no geography expert either. Let's just get back to chess... Have you given up playing blitz chess? You think you can spare me some time at FICS? :) |
|
Jan-06-11
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hi <Rich>- I refuse to Google anything- you never know where that information's "been." Have we played on FICS before? If so, do you remember which of us triumphed? Did you beat me like a rented mule?
Yes I have given up Blitz for the time being. |
|
| Jan-06-11 | | kudubux: I have defeated you 10-0 in FICS...yes!...in my dreams. Seriously, we haven't played before. But I think I ran into a Scorpion_Queen before and she really stung me in blitz! The handle's all too familiar but I reckoned on not inquiring more about it. Brings painful memories. LOl! |
