jessicafischerqueen: Yes as the Major explained, end of term here so we are force marched for the last month. End is in sight though and then Summer vacation lots of time to hang out here.

<Benzol> with respect to official games collections- if you- and David and Peter- are happy about what they do, then I'll be happy too.

The part I think is best about this is allowing kibbutzing. Then people can post various extra information they find about the tournaments.

I hope all is well down in NZ.

My memories of that time was a blur of study test caffeine study test worry and even more studying and tests, sleep was that thing after all that, like some holy grail in a dim part of the future.

Hope to see you online more often after you catch up on papers and rest

Jul-09-12  MarkFinan: Hi Jess..

Yeh Iv'e been playing a few CC games with Morf, but not Inbetween "Scrapping with Harry"!!

It's the 3rd time the little moron has come and said something stupid about me In my forum, and apart from yesterday Iv'e just Ignored him, because he always comes back the next day apologising for his drunkeness...

Well, it's gonna be hard for him to do that this time!!

When I go ask someone to do me a favour, and another guy does me that favour Instead, outta the blue, someone Iv'e never even spoke to before, then why shouldn't I speak nicely to them, and show them respect??

Should I treat that person, and speak to that person, the way I do with Harry? A guy who's done nothing but talk crap with me and everyone else for that matter, aborted chess games with me, and basically just annoys the tits off everyone? At least I mention, and am Interested In chess, and don't go round worshipping a player, as opposed to talking about the game Itself..

He's a little Idiot, and when he was feeling lonely because no-one posted In his forum, It was me who went and struck up a conversation with him (which he soon forgot, and moved onto some other 'Top 10 list' !)..

The guy's really pissed me off Jess..

And people can say or think what they want about me, but that won't stop me being nice with people who are nice with me..

And yeh, Tryfon's a top bloke!! Never replied to my emails!

All the best :)

jessicafischerqueen: Thanks <Hanh> and thanks for all your links too. That was some beautiful Russian music you posted.

I want to ask you- did you hear anything about this? Apparently Russia is considering blocking foreign access to Russian Wikipedia pages?!

I tried to search for "Chess Bulletin" in Russian, and the first Google entry is a wiki site- but it won't load. In fact, this message comes up:

<Imagine a world without free knowledge The State Duma will be held a second hearing to amend the "Law on Information", which can lead to the creation of extra-judicial censorship of the Internet in Russia, including the closure of access to Wikipedia in Russian.

Today, the Wikipedia community protests against censorship, dangerous to free knowledge, open to all mankind. We ask that you support in opposing this bill.>

I wonder if that is just for today, and the Russian wikis will be back tomorrow?

jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> yes I think you are right. The Wiki black day helped kill SOPA so I hope our Russian friends can defeat their own horrifying legislation. Russian wiki sites should be back tomorrow if it's the same type of protest.
Jul-10-12  Alien Math: Search for "Law on Information", under news

Voting will be held on the second Sunday of the month, according to the bill, which has yet to be approved by the Federation Council and signed into law by President Vladimir Putin.

The new bill is set to come into force in November, which means the first elections under the new schedule will take place on September 8, 2013.

From a blog about Blackout http://techwhack.com/wikipedia-russ...

Wikipedia made headlines when they went down for a day to protest against SOPA.

The Russian language edition of the Wikipedia is blacked out today as well. This time it is to protest against the new government regulations that might permanently disable access to their platform in this region.

The message on the Wikipedia Russian language edition when translated using Google services states:

Jul-10-12  Alien Math: Petition formed, require signatures of,
To The State Duma of the Russian Federation: To block Bill № 89417-6. http://www.change.org/petitions/to-...
