jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Aug-11-12  Travis Bickle: <Thanh Phan: <Travis Bickle> What kind of bait would you use for the monster you found?> Thanh I have the perfect bait for the monster! ; P

Aug-11-12  Thanh Phan: <Travis Bickle> That seems to work perfectly :) nice find
Aug-12-12  playground player: <Thanh Phan> Here in New Jersey, for some 300 years, we've been tantalized by a monster called <The Jersey Devil> (for whom the hockey team is named). A simple Internet search will give you all kinds of stories about the Jersey Devil. My brother-in-law has done extensive research on the Devil and published two books about it (which the esteemed host of this forum has read, by the way).

As for the Holmdel pterodactyl that we saw with our own eyes... well, it doesn't seem that anyone else has seen it, before or since.

We thought it might've been a hang-glider at first--but there's no places for miles and miles around where you could even try to go hang-gliding.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <jessicafischerqueen> I'm pretty sure making people work has been outlawed by the UN. You should have <hms123> look into it.

jessicafischerqueen: <Mr. Owls> the UN hasn't had any actual authority since the invasion of Incheon. I find it comical they've become a focus for conspiracy nutbars worried about a world dictatorship when the Security Council can't even make a binding decision on what country's takeout to order in for lunch. And so Koreans continue to work 26 hours a day. If they hadn't perfected the art of sleeping whilst standing with their eyes open, they'd all likely be dead by now.

<hms123> is a fine lawyer, but he's yet to enjoy any success in a case involving Asians. In the foodcourt of Nashville's "Matted Elk" Mall, to this day they still giggle about Howard's unfortunate involvement in the "General Kung Pao Chicken" fiasco.

jessicafischerqueen: <Switch> here is a photograph of that incident which was published the next day in the "Nashville Picayune- now made with Paper."

http://inapcache.boston.com/univers...

A bold, but ultimately futile attempt by Howard to prove to the court that the Kung Pao Chicken was indeed "Good Enough to Bathe In" as their advert had asserted.

Aug-19-12  crawfb5: Jess, just remember, if you touch it, you have to move it.

jessicafischerqueen: <Big> that's quite a euphemism. My mind's too busy hanging out in the gutter to figure out which post you are referring to even.

Was this one of your bon mots from the old days when you proved to be an audience of one for my ill-conceived, but thorough, five part series <GREAT MOMENTS IN BAZOOMBAS HISTORY>?

Aug-19-12

jessicafischerqueen: I think <branko> and <Tim> weren't around at that time, or there'd surely have been an audience of three.

Possibly it's time for Part Six?

Aug-19-12  crawfb5: <I'm moving in two days so I've been packing and cleaning>, so if you touch it, you have to move it.

To sink to the gutter while you're under that sort of stress would be <sewercide>.

Aug-19-12  hms123: <jess> I will have you know that the putative KPC fiasco was settled out of food court and that the records were permanently sealed in a Mason jar. The jar must have leaked.

jessicafischerqueen: <H> Yes more bad luck for you there I'm afraid. Tennessee perhaps a little behind the times. In Pennsylvania they use the much sturdier Dixon jars to seal court records.

jessicafischerqueen: <Big> It never occurred to me you had read that post. Normally, I forget about them straight after I write them.

This helps with "plausible deniability" later on.

Heading for Cascadia?

The weather here has been ridiculously nice considering what the rest of Christendom has had to put up with.

Naturally don't tell anyone how good the weather is here lest they all move in.

Listen everybody - It always rains in Cascadia. OK?

jessicafischerqueen: <Tim> I used to live in the Pacific Northwest, so I'm going to blow your cover. "Cascadia" doesn't exist!

Similar to the Sasquatch, it is an extraordinarily effective hoax perpetrated by the Boston Bar, BC chamber of commerce in 1969.

It wouldn't surprise me if you had a hand in that, in fact.

Aug-21-12  Boomie: <Jessie>

Did I miss something? I was watching the Real Housewives of Penticton marathon and lost my place.

"Cascadia" is just geek speek for "Ecotopia". If I'm lying, may Squatch snatch me feet first out of my tent.

Aug-21-12  Travis Bickle: Yer Majesty, I'm glad you liked The Cars! Here's a song from their first album and a history of the band. ; P
