I only got the copyright notices on existing videos that *do* use music not in the public domain. I started test running the public domain music two years ago, and although copyright bots still flag it, I only have to fill out one "copyright challenge" form to have the claim lifted. I did this by publishing private samples of public domain music. If you set a youtube video to "private," the copyright bots still find it- which is convenient for testing purposes.
