Jun-06-11  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: <Tim> yet another reason to love <Natalie Portman> and despise the gutless commercialism of American TV networks. A great, great idea totally ruined in the NBC/youtube context by

1. The incredibly intrusive HULU advertisement

2. The bleeping of all the curse words, a necessity for NBC, but one that renders the entire presentation utterly pointless.

It's like allowing a starving person to sniff a simmering ham and then not letting her eat any.>

1. Yes that is You Spam.

2. I wasn't sure the uncut version would fly here without some repurcussions. The Committee For Children About would have my bleepin' bleep.

Having said that, here's an uncut version. Strangely, they still bleep her mouth parts. Is it OK to let fly as long as they can't see you mouth the words? Discuss among yourselves.

Jun-07-11  madlydeeply: Later in that episode, i have been informed that Barbara Bush was conceived in a satanic ritual presided over by Crowley himself! I kid you not! HA! oh my goodness can the world become more absurd?

jessicafischerqueen: <Madly Deeply> yes well the Illuminatists are certainly good for comedy and horror, but I wouldn't become too alarmed by them.

The ironic thing, of course, is that there is no real Illuminati left, if we use the original usage of that word.

There are tons of Illuminatists though.

I wasn't there- but "implausible" is nowhere near a strong enough word to characterize the "idea" that Babs was conceived in a satanic ritual.

This probably comes from the woeful tendency of the Illuminatists to conflate the original Illuminati with the Yale University "Skull and Crossbones" society?

That's right isn't it?

If George W. Bush tells me that society did nothing more serious than spank a few freshman with a croquet bat, whilst candles burned and men in black hoods chanted... oh wait a minute.

Ok never mind then.

Jun-07-11  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: Well the thing is that the uncensored version might be the greatest 8 minutes of entertainment I've ever seen in my life.>

I knew you would laugh yourself sick on that one. My mission in life is to spray screens all over the world.

On a rare serious note, the local weather has turned wierd. There was this yellow ball in the sky. And the sky was a bluish color if you can believe it. We were all scared indoors for fear of the rapture or something.

The scotch broom and all the Spring flowers are out in force.

The La La Lillies are in bloom!

I've always relied on the kindness of a flower.

Jun-07-11  Boomie: A brief history of Burma Shave.

In the olden days, Burma Shave put signs along the highways with verses. For example, http://burma-shave.org/jingles/1963....

This InterWeb site place has all the Burma Shave slogans that delighted travellers in the Late Middle Ages.

Botvinnik

That's my current top ten. It's not easy choosing a top ten in chess. So many great players have to be left out. .........

jessicafischerqueen: <fab4> I dare you to post that top ten list on the <Carlsen> and <Kasparov> pages.

Be sure to add this at the top:

"Here is the one true list of the greatest players in chess history- case closed."

Jun-07-11  TheFocus: <fab4> Post that on the <Kasparov> page and listen to <shach matov> howl for another dozen pages.
