I sometimes post links to those video annotations on the relevant games here. Please use the "Subscribe" button on my channel page to keep notified of new ones.

Played in the main British Chess Championship twice now, scoring 4.5 and 5 respectively (out of 11 - it is tough!).

I have created various video annotation grouping pages, which may be of interest for you to check out:

I'm not named Kingscrusher for nothing. I learned chess at the age of 5 and have been addicted every since. It was through watching my father playing against my brother that I picked up the game.

My other hobbies watching the latest films, Computing, going out, seeing friends, watching TV.

The answer to life, the universe and everything was forty-two according the the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. But maybe for chess players it should be 64!!

When i was nearly 18, I managed to win the UK LLoyds bank Under 18 championship! In later years I attained a FIDE rating through the Lloyds bank Masters tournaments and through other tournaments such as Surrey and all play alls organised through Adam Raoof. Currently FIDE rated 2177. My BCF grading has been fluctuating over the years and is currently about 185 BCF, and I am play for Board 1 for both Barnet chess club and Muswell Hill chess club. My full chess cv can be found here:-

(sorry for the use of Wayback machine!)

In 2008, I finally qualified for the British Chess Championship by coming 2nd= at the Southend Open tournament with an ECF 206 performance.

University- I studied computing in business and obtained a 2:1 honours degree

My life advice is: have fun and enjoy life to the maximum! - I hope that chessworld.net helps in this goal! :-))))

kingscrusher: I think I am starting to get it. Botvinnik has a good role model for planning as in "mini-plans" because he makes the positions stable first - and often that involves a bind. Here is this game, first a bind on the d pawn. Then the e-pawn. Then mini-plan after mini-plan until ...

jessicafischerqueen: One more thing too- Remember around six months ago whenever I updated one of your playlists, you'd sometimes mention it on the information section of that video?

If you posted each relevant playlist URL in the description of every single video you upload that fits with one of your games collections, I think this would elevate the number of playlist views.

But you have to remember to do this before it would work. Remember every time and keep remembering to do it.

Right at the top of the description:

"Part of <____ by Kingscrusher> playlist, http://www.playlist.com

and so on.

LoveThatJoker: <Tryfon> How are you? Thank you very much to the referral to your video with GM King on youtube.

I thank you for your kindness in referring me to it, but I was surprised that GM King thought it ok to have the viewer watch from the losing side's perspective. I couldn't dare watch any of them as, although we all lose games here and there (even Kasparov!), we should always make the attempt to learn from the winning side and hence engender a winning environment within ourselves and our chess.

I therefore switched immediately to your dual commentary with Paul Georghiou on the alternatives to 3...a6 in the Ruy Lopez. This I found to be truly enjoyable, and took the initiative to get Stockfish's appraisal of a certain interesting position that both of you were commenting on:

After 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Bc5 4. c3 f5 5. d4 fxe4 6. Bxc6 dxc6 7. Nxe5 Bd6 this is the position that I asked Stockfish to elucidate on.

Position after 7...Bd6

It gave the following lines and evals at a depth of 24 after considering the position for 21 minutes and 24 seconds,

<8. O-O>

[8. Qh5+ g6 9. Qe2 Bf5 10. Nd2 Nf6 11. O-O Qe7 12. Ndc4 O-O-O 13. f3 exf3 14. Qxf3 Bxe5 15. Nxe5 c5 16. Bg5 (+0.56)]

Thanks for the referral, Tryfon and I look forward to seeing you at the live broadcast of the remaining games from the WCC here on CG.

I will do it methodically, in order. When I get to a playlist that has no new videos since I last updated, I will just post that as

If there are new videos added, then I will post here as

What do you think about the WC match if it goes to Rapids and Armageddon?!

Don't you think it would be better to give the champion draw odds and play at least 16 games!?

  kingscrusher: Hi Jessica

I think we can't have everything from the World championship - exciting games are more to be found from players like Nakamura who is rapidly becoming my absolute favourite for video annotations right now - he is like a New Age Tal to me.

The Rapids would be a fun spectacle but with Anand the much clearer favourite.

I don't think I can stand 16 dull Slav games or equivalent - 12 is enough for me. At least we did get one or two quite exciting games though so far.

Cheers, K
