I sometimes post links to those video annotations on the relevant games here. Please use the "Subscribe" button on my channel page to keep notified of new ones.

Played in the main British Chess Championship twice now, scoring 4.5 and 5 respectively (out of 11 - it is tough!).

I'm not named Kingscrusher for nothing. I learned chess at the age of 5 and have been addicted every since. It was through watching my father playing against my brother that I picked up the game.

My other hobbies watching the latest films, Computing, going out, seeing friends, watching TV.

The answer to life, the universe and everything was forty-two according the the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. But maybe for chess players it should be 64!!

When i was nearly 18, I managed to win the UK LLoyds bank Under 18 championship! In later years I attained a FIDE rating through the Lloyds bank Masters tournaments and through other tournaments such as Surrey and all play alls organised through Adam Raoof. Currently FIDE rated 2177. My BCF grading has been fluctuating over the years and is currently about 185 BCF, and I am play for Board 1 for both Barnet chess club and Muswell Hill chess club. My full chess cv can be found here:-

(sorry for the use of Wayback machine!)

In 2008, I finally qualified for the British Chess Championship by coming 2nd= at the Southend Open tournament with an ECF 206 performance.

University- I studied computing in business and obtained a 2:1 honours degree

My life advice is: have fun and enjoy life to the maximum! - I hope that chessworld.net helps in this goal! :-))))

jessicafischerqueen: <Tryfon> ok- all that remains is to move <anand> over to the FIDE Champion list and then add the new <Kasparov> and <Fischer> collections to that list.

I did in fact find several of your Fischer videos not already included in your lists at <chessworld.net>, and I'm still hunting for more.

What about adding new players to the "Other Interesting Master" list?

Ideally, it would be good to have every single video you have ever done on a Master Game included in a playlist?!

?!

That was a terrific post mortem video you posted yesterday, by the way- tough game and very instructive point about not "looking so hard" -

Sometimes better to have "soft eyes" in a chess position?!

Eyes that notice what's there, instead of looking for things you already have in mind as "principles" and such.

Anyways that's one of your best post mortems yet.

?!!!?

  kingscrusher: Hi Jessica

When explaining my OTB loss, he said what you said about "soft eyes" in a slightly different way - about being more "relaxed". I think this is it. I'm hoping to go back to being more relaxed and strategic in future games now, but with this new perspective in mind, that it helps to actually paradoxically be more conscientious about details of the position.

I have updated the playlist page:

http://www.chessworld.net/chessclub...

Thanks so much - brilliant stuff.

If you are keen to do more players, perhaps the top 10 not done so far from my two player polls. One poll was the most naturally talented players ever:

The other poll was for the strongest player ever:

http://www.chessworld.net/chessclub...

You may need to login to www.chessworld.net and put these pages in, to see the poll results.

In the natural talent poll - ordered by votes:

Fischer Capablanca Morphy Kasparov Tal Alekhine Mir Sultan Khan Anand Karpov Carlsen Rehevesky Pillsbury Lasker Nimzovich Timman Spassky Larsen Bu Marshall Petrosian Shirov Kramnik Polgar Bronstein Keres Kortchnoi Rubenstein Ivanchuk Topalov Morozevich Volokitin Tartakover Miles Steinitz Euwe Stein Aronian Radjabov Smyslov Shirov Alekseev Gashimov Navara Blackburne Cheparinov Gligoric Nezhmetdinov Ponomariov Timofeev Harikrishna Naiditsch Nakamura Areshchenko Efimenko Botvinnik Bacrot Akopian Bareev Adams Gelfand Grischuk Svidler Leko

In the strongest ever poll, ordered by votes:

Kasparov Fischer Capablanca Alekhine Morphy Karpov Lasker Tal Anand Botvinnik Spassky Nimzovich Euwe Kramnik Steinitz Larsen Petrosian Keres Polgar Timman Kortchnoi Topalov Ivanchuk Rubenstein Mir Sultan Khan Smyslov Marshall Carlsen Bronstein Alekseev Rehevesky Tartakover Bu Svidler Shirov Stein Pillsbury Blackburne Leko Radjabov Gligoric Harikrishna Miles Nezhmetdinov Naiditsch Areshchenko Timofeev Cheparinov Navara Morozevich Volokitin Gashimov Aronian Bacrot Akopian Gelfand Adams Nakamura Grischuk Bareev Ponomariov Efimenko

But what you have done for the site is fantastic, and I will feature it in the next system message I send out.

Thanks

Ok Tryfon the page looks well in order- I look forward to the lists being filled out with more of your Master Game analyses.

This will happen naturally as you proceed on the Evolution of Style series, I'll just add each new one to the respective player playlist!?

I am particularly looking forward to when you get up to the "Soviet School," since I've been reading and researching it for over six months now.

Luckily I have several good books on it.

Well I suppose it's not luck really since I bought the books?!

heh

jessicafischerqueen: <Tryfon> just one more note- having re-watched dozens of your old videos this past week, I had quite a few feelings of nostalgia.

Like when you used to use the brown board and your microphone sounded like it was on the bottom of the ocean- and remember that snazzy introduction music? I liked that feature, kind of sorry you stopped doing it.

And remember when you put yourself on web-cam for several videos?

You wore a proper suit which I thought was quite professional.

However, I kept looking at you speaking instead of looking at the pieces on the board.

What about trying an experimental video where you set up a web camera, and play a Blitz game OTB in your flat with a mate?

I bet a lot of people would like such a video.

I certainly would.

  kingscrusher: Hi Jess

I maybe embaressing myself on the coming Tuesday trying to cover a Nigel short simul - where a lot could go wrong technically. I'm hoping I will be able to record it and put it on youtube as well as just presenting it via the Playchess chessbase server.

I'm glad you like the past experiments in my videos. I don't really feel like getting into a suit for every video though - that was one experiment as a one off :)

Hope you are having a nice Sunday, and check out the startling queen sac by Petrosian I messaged you :)
