Sep-23-10  Garech: Hi all - done extensive analysis I'd like to share. Some of it is quite lengthy - but those willing to understand will be able to do so =0)

Lines given in brackets are alternative continuations, and inferior according to the engine's initial assessment of the position.

Enjoy!

  kutztown46: <OhioChessFan: How should I edit the header to Engine Room 1?>

I was just thinking you could mention that there are two Engine Rooms and briefly explain the function of each and maybe put a link to ER2.

I should probably put some similar verbiage at the top of my forum header.

The combination of my own analysis and keeping up with all the other analysis and creating links is keeping me busy.

Sep-23-10  goslinga: <kutztown has a variation with the 11. Nd2 line in "after 10. ...Bb7":

Analysis by Stockfish 1.8 JA 64bit (30-ply):
1. = (0.00): 11. Nbd2 c5 12. cxd5 Nxd5 13. Ne4 cxd4 14. Nxd4 Rc8... >

Instead of 13. ...cd4, Rybka recommends 13. ...Nxf4:
3. (-0.22): 11. Nbd2 c5 12. cd5 Nxd5 13. Ne4 Nxf4 14. gf4 Qc7 15. dc5 bc5

Likewise, maybe somewhat better than 13. Ne4:
2. (-0.18): 11. Nbd2 c5 12. cd5 Nxd5 13. dc5 Rc8 14. Ne4/Be5 White's QB finally bites the dust and he gets a doubled f pawn, not a pleasant game for white.

Best line sofar (Rybka):
1. = (0.0): 10. ...Bb7 11. Nbd2 c5 12. dxc5 Bxc5 13. cd5 Rc8 14. Qd3 Nxd5 15. Ne4 Be7 16. Qd2 N7f6 17. Nxf6+ Nxf6 18. Rac1 Qxd2 19. Bxd2 Rfd8 20. Rxc8 Rxc8 21. Nd4 Bd5 22. Bxd5 Nxd5 23. Rc1 Rxc1 24. Bxc1 Nb4 25. a3 Bf6 26. Nb5 Nc6 27. Kg2

My humble thoughts:
12. dc5 is the logical consequence of Rd1 since it opens the d-file for our rook although it helps black's development. 12. cd5 relieves the pressure on our c-pawn but it brings a black knight to d5 to harrass our queen's bishop.

  Check It Out: <kutztown46> I'm running Shredder 12.

I'm sandpapering the lines I posted above now, going back to 11...Rc8. Shredder 12 really likes 12.Nc3 here. Other options include 12.Ne1 and 12.a4, but both are in neg evals for white, and both look weird to my human eyes.

So, In response to 10...Bb7 11.b3 Rc8

12.Nc3 looks like the best move.

Will keep working on these variations.

If there is a better way for me to present this work, let me know!
