WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: I (am usually very hard to impress, nothing under the sun that I haven't really seen/heard/read or what-nots...)

This, is IMPRESSIVE:

In a movie, it is 26 (?) frames a second, and the video is 2 minutes and 3 seconds. (I will leave the math as an exercise for the students. =)

Trust me, it's impressive.

Perhaps <brankat> can interpret for us. =)

Regarding the above video titled "Povodjansko kolo".

The first word most likely stems from the name of a village or a small town, probably Povodje (=By the water, or river). Have never heard of the place.

"Kolo" would be hard to translate accurately into English. "Circle" is probably as close as it gets. So it is something like "A circle dance of Podvodje".

"Kolo" is centuries old, traditional type of a dance, where a group of men and women, holding hands. form a circle, and dance that way. mostly going in circle :-) Usually the music is of a fast rhythm. Used to be quite popular in Balkan countries. Apparently still is.

The text that You see at the bottom of the video screen has nothing to do with the music. It is just a bunch of Christmas greetings/messages (Orthodox Christianity) from individuals to their family members and friends. With undertones somewhat too nationalistic for my taste.

I hope this helps :-)

Okay, let us consider, for just a second here. Even if, it was to strike earth, would you let it (the news) out?

Would you want to be the person, that stands in front of cameras and billions of people on TV and say: "The astroid will strike earth, and even if US, Russia, China, Britain, France, India, Pakistan, Israel, Iran shoot all their nuclear and conventional arsenal at this rock, we have at best 40% chance of survival."*

*All numbers and data may not be factual, because we know Russia sold their arsenals to North Korea.

Rooney Rule meets IT... Not in favor of it. All interview/screening should be about abilities and capabilities. Not 'token' candidate(s).

WannaBe: Currently, reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" By Shirer, 50th anniv. edition, paperback.

On page 85, I find this ironic/stupid/funny/stunning

<This strange priest, of whom more will be heard in this history, corrected some of Hitler's bad grammar, straightened out what prose he could and crossed out a few passages which he convinced the author were politically objectionable.>

Really?! I wonder what was left out...
